Duck Derby Returning To Downtown Summerville

The Ducky Derby will be returning to downtown Summerville once again this year.  Summerville Main Street has set the date for Saturday, May 13th.  Race time will be at 1 Pm and their will be a cruise-in with North Georgia Cruisers from 10 AM – 2 PM.  There will be a Ducky Derby Hat Contest with a $50 first place prize in adult and youth divisions.  The event will also include arts and crafts, entertainment, food vendors and children’s activities.  Mark the date – the Ducky Derby will be taking place May 13th.

Lyerly Farmers Market Seeking Vendors

A new farmers market is coming to Chattooga County this year.  The Lyerly Farmers Market will be held each Saturday, starting June 3, 2023 from 8 AM until noon.  The market will be held at Angus McLeod Park on Highway 114.  For more information, or to apply to be a vendor, email lyerlymarket@gmail.com .

2023 Food Preservation Workshops

Chattooga County Extension Agent Rebecca Thomas has released the schedule for the 2023 Chattooga County Food Preservation Workshops.  Workshops will cover a variety of home canning and food preservation topics.  The cost is $25 per class and is limited to 15 people per class.  Payment will secure your registration.  You may register by calling the Chattooga County Extension Office at 706-857-0744 or by emailing Rebecca Thomas at rbt@uga.edu.  The workshops will all be held at the Extension Office / Chattooga County Ag Building at 40 Middle School Road in Summerville.

Meals On Wheels Driver Needed For Chattooga Senior Center.

Coosa Valley Regional Services is looking to hire a (part time) driver from 7 AM -1 PM (hours may vary) at the Chattooga Senior Center in Summerville to deliver meals on wheels to our Seniors in the community. If you are interested please come by the center to pick up an application. CHS Class of 1966 To Host Reunion on July 8th

The Chattooga High Class of 1966 will be having a class reunion on July 8 at 5PM. It will be at the agricultural center on Highway 100 near the Summerville Middle School. Miss Menlo Pageant April 14th

Registration for the Miss Menlo pageant is underway.  The pageant will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 4 PM at the Menlo Elementary School Gym.  There are different age categories (See below) and categories for most photogenic, prettiest hair, prettiest smile, and prettiest eyes.  Contestants must be a student at Menlo school, a sibling or relative of a student at Menlo school, related to a staff member at Menlo school, or live in the Menlo area. Rehearsal is April 14th from 6-7:30pm in the gym.
