The quarterly meeting of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at the Chattooga County Ag Center in Summerville.

Due to the threat of rain, “Coffee with a Cop” has been moved indoors. The event will be held from 7:30 AM – 11 AM on Wednesday, March 4th at McDonald’s in Summerville. McDonald’s owner Jim Aaron told WZQZ News that coffee will be FREE from 7:30 – 11 for all customers who come by. WZQZ will be broadcasting live from the event. VFW Auxiliary POST 6688 will hold their monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Chattooga County Memorial Home. All current members are encouraged to attend.
The Menlo Lions Club will be making their Brunswick Stew coming up on March 6th. The stew will be available on Saturday morning at the Menlo Elementary School lunch room between 7 AM and 10 AM. This will be the last stew-cooking until the fall of 2020. Stew is $6 per quart or $20 per gallon. You can pre-order stew by calling 706-862-2857. Floyd Medical Center will hold a free lifesaving training event at Harvest Worship Center in Trion Wednesday night at 7 PM.
Chattooga High School will host Title I Family Science Night coming up on Thursday, February 27 from 4-6pm. Come join in for hands-on STEM & Science activities for the whole family. They will have experiments and activities, Star Lab and door prizes! Star Lab will be set up at the gym.
