Waffle House in Summerville opened on Monday morning. The crowd was steady, but patrons said that they were able to get seated and served quickly and said that the staff was efficient. Other than a brief problem with credit card processing, things went smoothly for the first day.

Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are paying an average price of $3.02 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average was 7 cents more than a week ago, 1 cent more than a month ago, and 37 cents less than this time last year. It now costs an average of $45.30 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are now paying almost $6.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.
