Intoxicated Man Arrested After Walking Down Middle Of Road

A fifty-nine-year-old man was arrested last Friday after Summerville Police received a call about a person walking down the middle of the road.  The caller to Chattooga 911 said that they almost hit the pedestrian.  A Summerville Police officer found the suspect in the parking lot of the Amoco service station on Commerce Street.  Police say that the man was unsteady on his feet, and when the officer spoke with the man, they could smell a strong odor of alcohol.  Danny Joe Smallwood was arrested and charged with public intoxication and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.

This position is responsible for checking items in and out, shelving items, and performing a variety of duties in support of the library branch.

The new time will be 1 PM until 4 PM.  Everyone is WELCOME! You will not need to bring your chairs. Governor Announces DOT Working On Hydrogen Fueling Stations

This week, Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that he has instructed the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to begin the process of working with private sector partners on how best to approach deployment of hydrogen fueling stations for commercial vehicles in the state. As a first step to this multi-stage process, GDOT has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to seek feedback from businesses operating in this space on how to progress in the development and construction of hydrogen fuel stations. GDOT will use the feedback collected from this RFI in conjunction with other research to better understand opportunities to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-powered trucks.
