City Of Menlo Blood Assurance Blood Drive July 31st

The City of Menlo will be hosting a Blood Assurance Blood Drive coming up on Monday, July 31st from Noon until 4 PM.  Each donor will receive a t-shirt.  The blood donor bus will be located at the parking lot across from Menlo City Hall at Best Manufacturing.  Blood Assurance says that one blood donation can save up to three lives.  If you plan to donate, you can call ahead for an appointment at 1-800-962-0628.  Remember to eat a good meal, avoid energy drinks, drink extra water and bring your ID when you come to donate blood.

SOS Says He Wants “The Cleanest Voting List In America”

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is announcing routine and legally required updates to Georgia’s voter records as part of the non-election year list-maintenance process. State and federal law requires Georgia election officials to properly maintain voter registration records, which commonly includes proactive measures when a lawful voter has died or moved to a different address. Georgia law specifically provides for the removal of voter registration records that have been in an “inactive” status for two general elections and have failed to update their records within that time.

Incident At Summerville Gardens Leads To Arrest

Summerville Police released a report on Wednesday of this week about an incident that was reported last week at Summerville Gardens where two males tried to gain entry into a woman’s apartment and pushed her into a door.

Georgia Ag Commissioner In Walker County This Week

Georgia Ag Commissioner Tyler Harper in Rock Spring with Reita Cabe of Reita’s Fried Pies

On Wednesday of this week, Georgia Agricultural Commissioner Tyler Harper visited Northwest Georgia and was at the Walker County Farmer’s Market in Rock Spring. Harper announced that the Georgia Department of Agriculture Food Safety Division’s Manufactured Food Program passed their biennial Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standards (MFRPS) audit conducted by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

No Health Inspection Scores For The First Half Of July

There were no health inspection scores to report from the Chattooga County Environmental Health Department for the first half of July.  There were two inspections this week however.  Boon Docks Bar & Grill in Holland received a score of 80 and Summerville Nutrition Center received a score of 95.  Should you ever have any complaint with any food service or tourist accommodation that operates in Chattooga County, you may register that complaint by calling the Chattooga County Environmental Health Department at 706-857-3377.
