Shoplifting Nursing Home Resident Banned From George’s Kwik Store

A resident from the local nursing home was banned from George’s Kwik Stop this week after he was caught shoplifting alcohol and cigarettes.  Summerville Police spoke with the store owner on Highland Avenue who showed the responding officer video footage of a man in a wheelchair concealing cigarettes and alcohol and leaving the store without paying.  The officer went across the street from the store to the nursing home and spoke with thirty-one-year-old Marquel Neal, who admitted to stealing the items.  The officer was able to retrieve most of the stolen items and take them back to the store.  The store owner agreed not to press charges, but asked the officer to ban Neal from entering the store in the future.
