Dooley Charged With Disorderly Conduct & Obstruction Of Officers

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office released on Wednesday, fifty-six-year-old Billy Joe Dooley was arrested at a Woodhaven Drive address shortly before midnight on Monday.  The report says that deputies responded to a 911 call and found Dooley in a heavily intoxicated state.  According to the report, the responding deputy was attempting to converse with the subject when he exclaimed “I’m calling (Sheriff) Mark Schrader”.  The deputy said in the report that Dooley was so intoxicated, he couldn’t operate his cell phone properly.  The deputy spoke with residents at the house who said that Dooley was making threats and being disorderly.  When a deputy attempted to arrest Dooley on disorderly conduct charges, he reportedly refused to put his hands behind his back.  Deputies also charged him with obstruction of law enforcement and he was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.

Town Of Trion Holiday Notice

The Town of Trion Business Office, Gas Department, Recreation Department, and Maintenance Department will be closed on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th in observance of July 4th Holiday.

Report Shows 96 Firefighter Deaths In 2022

The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) released a new report,  “Fatal Firefighter Injuries in the U.S. in 2022”, which showed a total of 96 on-duty U.S. firefighter fatalities in 2022. Of these deaths, 51 were volunteer firefighters, 38 were career firefighters, six were contractors for federal or state land management agencies, and one was a full-time federal land management employee.
