Summerville Man Arrested For Thefts In Floyd County

A fifty-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested in Floyd County this past week after being accused of numerous thefts around Floyd County.  Floyd County arrest records indicate that Eric Shon Burke of Summerville is accused of stealing a 2008 Lone Wolf Trailer, Kobalt Miter Saw and a Black and Decker Jigsaw from a location on Huffaker Road in Rome on May 10th.  He is also accused of stealing a trailer and boating equipment from a location on Friday Road in Floyd County.  The total of the property stolen was valued over $3,800.  Burke was arrested and booked into the Floyd County Jail on two counts of felony theft by taking.

Summerville City Council Meeting Tomorrow Evening

The Summerville City Council will hold their regular meeting for the month of June coming up tomorrow evening at Summerville City Hall.  Council members will be looking to approve money for two sewer grinder pumps at the wastewater treatment plant.  They will also be asked to approve a grant application for funding for one of the city’s water supply wells.  Also, tomorrow will be the first public reading of the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget.  The council meeting will get underway at 5 PM at Summerville City Hall.  Also, from 4:30 PM – 5 PM, there will be a question and answer session with Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey and the Summerville City Council members.
