According to a report released this week, on May 20th, a thirty-six-year-old woman was arrested after she was found walking around a neighborhood in Summerville and walking through people’s yards. When police responded to a call about the woman, she was unable to tell officers who she was, where she was going or where she lived. Officers believed the woman to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The woman finally told an officer that she was “Elena Gilbert” – a character from “Vampire Diaries”. When asked by the officer if that was who she was claiming to be, the woman replied, “Yea, I am the main vampire”. Officers arrested the woman and were not able to establish an identity until they fingerprinted her at the Chattooga County Jail. They discovered the woman was Brittany Michelle Schrader. Officers also found drug paraphernalia inside the woman’s bra. She was charged with giving a false name to officers, public drunkenness and obstruction of law enforcement.

A thirty-three-year-old Summerville man was arrested last last month and charged after an attack on his younger brother. According to a report released this week by the Summerville Police Department, Bobby Joe Durham was standing outside a Sidney Street residence when police arrived, and was obviously under the influence of alcohol. Police spoke with Durham, who said he just wanted a ride to leave the premises. They then spoke with Durham’s seventeen-year-old brother who told police his brother had thrown a cell phone at him and hit him in the chest. The two brothers were apparently arguing over a missing bottle of liquor. Police asked the younger brother if he wanted to press charges and he told officers he did because he was tired of his older brother beating up on him. Police arrested Bobby Joe Durham and charged him with battery and he was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
