Woman Arrested After “Funny Dance” And Threats Disturbs The Peace

A forty-five-year-old woman was arrested by Chattooga County deputies last Thursday for disturbing the peace.  According to a report released this week, officers responded to a call about a domestic altercation on Violet Lane in Summerville.  When they arrived on the scene, Sandy Wilson was standing across the street on a porch “screaming and causing a breach of peace while doing a funny dance”.  Witnesses said that Wilson had told them she would “kill them” if they called the law.  Wilson was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail on two felony charges of making terroristic threats and acts, disorderly conduct, trespass and simple assault.

Armuchee Bluegrass Festival This Weekend

Billed as the longest-running Bluegrass Music festival in Georgia, the Armuchee Bluegrass Festival returns this Memorial Day Weekend on Turkey Mountain Road in Armuchee.  The festival kicks off on Thursday evening with a “Jam-A-Long” and cookout at 6 PM.  Friday, the music gets underway at 5:45 PM and Saturday the music starts at 11:45 AM.  The cost is $21 for all three-days or $10 for Friday and $12 for Saturday.  Children under the age of 12 are free.  The festival is held at the Armuchee Music Park, located at 899 Turkey Mountain Road.

Shoplifter Arrested After Being Accused Of Stealing In Gore

A forty-six-year-old woman was arrested by Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputies last week after she was accused of stealing energy drinks from the Dollar General store in Gore.  According to a report released this week, store associates called deputies after the woman left the store with several Red Bulls in her pocketbook that she didn’t pay for.  Police reviewed video cameras and went to the home of Mary Elizabeth Carter in Summerville and arrested her.  Carter admitted to the deputies that she had stolen the energy drinks.  Carter was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of shoplifting.

Man Breaks Windows In Residence

Summerville Police responded to a call on Peppermint Place on Monday morning of this week.  The call came into Chattooga 911 shortly after 3 AM, and the dispatcher could hear a woman screaming in the background.  The caller hung up, and police responded.  When on the scene, police discovered that thirty-two-year-old Cody Vickers had a pry-bar and blood covering his hand.  Police determined that Vickers had got up in the middle of the night and started busting windows in the house.  Police said that Vickers has a history of mental illness.  Vickers was taken to the hospital by EMS due to the injuries sustained.
