Trion Schools Announce Public Review Of ARP-ESSER III

Trion City Schools would like to announce the public review of the system’s proposed American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Plan (ARP-ESSER III) and the supporting budget. A copy of the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Plan and supporting budget documents will be available for public review and recommendations. The public review is scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2023, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm in the Board room at 239 Simmons Street, Trion, GA 30753. New Pastor Coming To Summerville First Baptist

Summerville First Baptist Church has announced that they are calling a new pastor.  Dr. Randy Clayton and his wife Shannon will be coming to Summerville after pastoring for the past 13 years in Mississippi.  Dr. Clayton has been in the ministry for over thirty years.  The Claytons have two grown sons, Corey and Wesley Clayton who both graduated from Mississippi State. Dr. Clayton holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from University of Tennessee, a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Man Threatens To Blow Up Car With His Daughter Inside

A twenty-seven-year-old Rome man is behind bars after shoving a woman and threatening to blow up an automobile with his young daughter inside on Monday.  According to Rome police, Naderricus Sha’quan Reed caused visible injuries to the woman’s arm during the argument.  Reed was booked into the Floyd County Jail and was charged with simple battery and terroristic threats and acts.
