Minor Injury In Accident At Gore Intersection Thursday Morning

An accident in Gore on Thursday morning sent a person to the hospital with minor injuries.  The Georgia State Patrol told WZQZ News that they responded to the call about an accident at the intersection of Gore-Subligna Road and Highway 27 at 11:04 AM.  The trooper says that a GMC Acadia was traveling on Gore-Subligna Road and attempted to cross over Highway 27 and drove into the path of a Ford Super Duty truck.  The Acadia struck the Ford in the right side which caused the truck to spin out of control.  More information on the accident will be forthcoming once a report is completed by the Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome.

Trion Police have released a report an accident that happened this morning shortly after 6 AM.  It appears that the driver of a mini van may have had a medical issue that contributed to not one, but two separate accidents.

State Tax Collections Down For The Month Of April

The State of Georgia’s net tax collections for April totaled $4.19 billion for a decrease of $829.5 million, or -16.5 percent, compared to April 2022, when net tax collections totaled $5.01 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $27.79 billion for an increase of $256.9 million, or 0.9 percent, compared to the previous fiscal year, when net tax revenues totaled $27.54 billion at the end of April 2022.

Summerville Police Tell Man Not To Return To Store

On Monday of this week, the Summerville Police Department responded to George’s Kwik Stop in Summerville after a man came into the store and harassed a store clerk.  By the time police arrived, the man had left the store but the clerk told police that she had been involved in a minor accident with the suspect the previous day.  According to the clerk, forty-six-year-old Lavoid McCutchins came into the store and began to berate the clerk, saying she didn’t have insurance on her vehicle at the time of the accident.  According to arrest reports, McCutchins had been arrested for DUI following that accident.  Police found McCutchins and warned him not to go back to the store.  They also told him he could go to magistrate court concerning the accident.
