Atlanta Man Arrested After Shoplifting At Trion Walmart

A twenty-eight-year-old Atlanta man was arrested at Walmart in Trion late last month for shoplifting.  According to Walmart employees, Damien Emale Mitchell walked through all points of sale with a Sony car radio. Employees stopped Mitchell and retrieved the radio.  Mitchell then fled the store and got into a car with two other men and a small child.  The men sped away from Walmart and were stopped on Highway 48 in Summerville, traveling at a high rate of speed.  Law enforcement stopped the vehicle on Marks Hill and Mitchell was taken into custody.  He was charged with theft by shoplifting and criminal trespass.

 

113th Georgia Trooper School Graduates 33 New Troopers

The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) graduated its 113th Trooper School Friday, March 10, at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) in Forsyth. After 32 weeks of intense training, 33 new Troopers will report to one of 52 patrol posts around the state.

Man Reports Stolen Wallet

A Highland Avenue man reported a stolen wallet to police last week.  According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, the complainant told the responding officer that someone had taken his wallet from his nightstand.  The complainant was able to identify a possible suspect to police. The man had a $100 bill and a money order inside the wallet when it was stolen.  The incident has been turned over to an investigator.

Rome Man Accused Of Trafficking Cocaine In Chattooga County

A thirty-one-year-old Rome man was arrested last week in Floyd County on charges that he was trafficking cocaine in Chattooga County.  Devon Kenshaw Pullam was arrested and jailed by Floyd County Police.  Police say that Pullam is also behind on his probation fees.  Pullam was one of thirty-two people arrested back in January of this year by the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force.  He was charged in January with trafficking methamphetamine.  Trion and Summerville Police and the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office were all part of the drug bust in January that landed Pullam behind bars.
