Holiday Closures Monday

Monday is a Federal holiday and most governmental offices, banks and the post office will be closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Trion City Schools will be closed on Monday for the holiday and Chattooga County Schools are already closed since they have a four-day schedule.

The City of Summerville released this statement:

The City of Summerville offices will be closed Monday, January 16, 2023, to observe the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. If you have an emergency please call 911.

Walker County Men Charged With Shoplifting In Chattooga County

A twenty-eight-year-old LaFayette man who already had felony warrants for shoplifting in Chattooga County, was caught shortly after he shoplifted again at Wal-Mart in Trion on December 29th.  Lee Tumblin was seen leaving the store without paying for items in his possession.   His friend, Dillion Stone Williams, also 28 of Rock Spring, was also arrested after the latest shoplifting incident.
