Summerville Main Street will host a “Salute To The Troops” event on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10 AM to 3 PM at the historic Summerville Train Depot. The free community event aims to honor Summerville’s living and deceased veterans through a poignant exhibit and a day of family-friendly activities.
The Historic Summerville Depot is set to come alive today, Saturday, August 23, hosting the much-anticipated Market & Music At The Depot. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the iconic venue will offer a vibrant blend of local shopping, live entertainment, and a special appearance by the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train, all with free admission.

The opening week of the high school football season did not go the way the Chattooga Indians and the Trion Bulldogs had hoped it would. Chattooga was shutout on the road at Lafayette 25-0 and Trion lost to Gordon Lee in Chickamauga 23-12. Both teams will get another crack at it tonight though and hopefully pick up their first win of the season.
The Trion Bulldogs will host the first home game of the season tonight at Sam R. McCain Stadium against the Dade County Wolverines. Dade County is coming off a 4-7 season last year and the Wolverines lost big last week in their opener on the road at Ringgold 38-7.
The Chattooga Indians will travel to Dalton tonight to take on the Coahulla Creek Colts. Coahulla Creek is coming off a 1-9 season last year and things did not start off any better this year as the Colts lost last week on the road to Northwest Whitfield 35-13.
Both the Trion and Chattooga games will be broadcast live on the WZQZ Facebook page. The Chattooga game will also be broadcast live on 99.1 FM and AM 1180. Join Chris “Bubba” Wilson and Steiner Davis on the call for the Indians while Paul Cavin and Jeremy Burke will be on the mic for the Trion vs Dade County game.
