Man Charged After Traffic Stop On Highway 48

A 25-year-old man was arrested on December 7th for driving without a license and failure to maintain his lane on Highway 48. Jason Alexander Ardon was taken into custody by a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy after exhibiting dangerous driving behavior that drew the attention of law enforcement. According to the arrest report, the deputy observed Ardon’s white Ram 1500 with Texas tags, traveling west on Highway 48 at approximately 7:34 PM. The truck was seen drifting into the oncoming lane of traffic and onto the shoulder of the road, causing an audible alert from the rumble strips. The deputy followed the vehicle for over a mile, noting multiple instances of lane violations before initiating a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 48 and Highway 157. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy requested Ardon’s driver’s license. Ardon reportedly informed the officer that he did not possess a driver’s license and had never held one in any state. A check through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) confirmed that he had no driving record in either Georgia or Texas. Ardon was subsequently placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
