Summerville Police responded to the Chattooga County Ag Center on Friday of last week after a juvenile reported being slapped by a sixty-four-year-old woman. When police arrived on the scene, they spoke with the juvenile who said that they had jumped up to try to touch a banner and got their finger hung. At that point, the juvenile said that the suspect slapped them and cursed them. When police spoke with the offender, she admitted to slapping the victim “because they were being disrespectful”, but denied cursing at them. Kelly Sue Davis was arrested and charged with simple battery and was taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
Rome Police say that the bomb squad was called to a blood plasma donation center on North Division Street on Monday of this week after a thirty-one-year-old woman was accused of “placing a battery with a blue wire on the rim’s” of a person’s car in the parking lot of the CSL Plasma. Police say that Jennifer Lynn Williams placed the devise there with the “purpose of evacuating the building”. The devise turned out not to be a threat, but Williams was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and terroristic threats or acts and was booked into the Floyd County Jail.
There should be no shortage of family fun at the 2024 City of Summerville Celebrate Independence Festival & Fireworks Show on July 3 at the Chattooga County Ag Center.
