Mr. Ernest Samuel Trammell, Sr., age 74, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Redmond Regional Medical.

Mr. Trammell was born September 23, 1942, in Trion, GA, son of the late Willie Samuel and Alene Walters Trammell.  He was Holiness by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sherman Trammell, Junior Trammell, and Ray Trammell; sisters, Sherlene Trammell and Evelene Trammell.

Mr. Trammell is survived by his wife, Dorthy Trammell; sons and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Shannon Trammell, Jimmy Watson; daughter, Wanda Watson; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Charlene Trammell; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Trammell will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin J. Norton officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ladon Trammell, Corey Watson, Chris Watson, Nathan Dunn, Brandon Watson, and David Parris.

Mr. Trammell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Thursday.

MRS. BEATRICE GARDNER, age 92, of Forster Street, Lyerly, Georgia passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, in a Rome health care.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late William Oscar and Grace Beatrice Garner Reece, on May 31, 1924.   Mrs. Gardner was a member of Lyerly United Methodist Church, and served as Membership Secretary and Historian of the church; she was also a member of the W. M. U. of Lyerly United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by husband, the late Benjamin F. (Ben) Gardner.

Surviving are daughters and spouse, Mary Elizabeth Clements of Silver Creek and Patricia & Artie Pledger of Lyerly; son and spouse, Butch & Nancy Gardner of Summerville; brother, Frank A. Reece of Lyerly; special friend, Rose Jackson; nine Grandchildren, twenty four Great Grandchildren, and four Great Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 1st, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Brett Clements and Rev. Marshall Bryan officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Rev. Shane Clements, Rev. Ben Clements, Tyler W. Pledger, Corey Wells, Nick Robinson, and Guthrie Frazier; Honorary Pallbearers, members of the Lyerly United Methodist Church W. M. U.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 P.M. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the Family suggests contributions to the Lyerly United Methodist Church W. M. U.

Mr. William "Boyce" Keith, age 65 of Lafayette, GA passed away February 26, 2017 at a Chattanooga Hospital.

Mrs. Margaret Louise Westbrook Stewart, age 80 of Soddy Daisy, TN passed away Friday, February 24, 2017.

Mrs. Stewart was born in Trion, Georgia on February 29, 1936, daughter of the late Thomas Hamilton “Hamp” Westbrook and Olivia Elizabeth Brown Westbrook.  She was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church, where she was active for many years.  Mrs. Stewart was a 1954 graduate of Trion High School, and was active in the Alumni Association, helping many students to receive college scholarships.  She earned her A.S. Degree from Reinhardt College, her  B.S. Degree from Georgia Teachers College, and earned her Master’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University.  She was a member of the Georgia State Teachers Retirement Association and Delta Kappa Gamma.  Mrs. Stewart was a retired teacher and coach from Jonesboro High School.  She coached numerous sports and worked with the youth at Jonesboro United Methodist Church.  She touched many lives during her life as evidenced by the many calls, cards and visits she received from family, friends, fellow teachers and former students.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by brothers, George Gaylord Westbrook, C. Ralph Brown, and Glen Westbrook; nephew, Rob Westbrook; and nieces, Kay B. Scott and Dinky W. Warren.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by nieces and nephews, Edwina and Rick Montgomery, Catherine and Gene McNabb, Tom Westbrook, Tim and Debbie Westbrook, Chris Westbrook, Michelle Warren, Danielle Croom, John Westbrook, David and Cindy Westbrook, Butch Westbrook and Christy Taylor; sister-in-law, Linda Westbrook and numerous cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Stewart will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Skip Mitchell and Rev. Dan Scott officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Nephews.

Mrs. Stewart will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Mary Margaret Fletcher, age 92, passed away Friday February 24, 2017, in Pruitt Health Care Center.  Mary was born April 6, 1924, in Hickman County, TN, the sixth child of Sam and Linnie Chaney.

She worked for Oakridge National Labratories and Bell Telephone,  before marring Glenn Wesley Fletcher  in the 1950’s and moving to northwest Georgia.  She became an excellent cook and gardener.  Her roast beef Sunday dinners with fresh garden vegetables were great.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, an infant daughter, her parents, and her brothers and a sister.  She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son Don Fletcher and his wife, Gray Fletcher, grandson, Wes Fletcher, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday February 26, 2017, from the  Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating with burial in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Fletcher will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday February 26, 2017, from  1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
