Mrs. Susan Marie Buckner Johnson, age 44, of Trion, GA, died Friday, December 16, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mrs. Johnson was born July 10, 1972, in Scottsboro, AL, daughter of Randy Kevin Buckner and Sarah Marie Cornelison Campbell. She was employed with Boarders Unlimited. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by fraternal grandparents, Thomas and Ruby Buckner; and her maternal grandparents, Fred Cornelison and Margaret Tucker.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Dustin Johnson and Dayton Johnson; and sisters, Julie Reynolds and Amy Dover.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 18, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Johnson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Sunday.

Mr. Michael Wayne Kitchens, age 74 of Menlo, formerly of Summerville, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 in a Rome Healthcare Facility.
Mr. Kitchens was born in Trion, Georgia on January 23, 1942, son of the late Lee Kitchens and Grace Holbrook Kitchens McClellan. He was veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era, and prior to retirement, was self employed as a truck driver. He loved to keep up with Current Events and Politics. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kitchens was preceded in death by his brother, Carlton Kitchens.
Mr. Kitchens is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Kitchens; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Stacy Rinehart and Jennifer and Shannon Romine; grandchildren, Gabriel Kitchens, Matt Rinehart, Garrett Rowls, Allison Rowls, Sydney Romine and Jaxten Romine; special companion, Mary Pettyjohn; niece, Sharon Kitchens and a nephew, Andy (Cindy Kay) Kitchens.
Memorial Committal Services for Mr. Kitchens will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2106 at 12:30 P.M. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.
In accordance with Mr. Kitchen’s wishes, there is no visitation planned at this time.

Mr. Lewis LeBron McWhorter, age 71 of Trion, passed away Friday, December 09, 2016 at the Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. McWhorter was born in LaFayette, GA on July 17, 1945, son of Lewis Clifford McWhorter and Myrtle Lou Howell McWhorter. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Viet Nam Era, and a member of the American Legion Post 129. Prior to his retirement, he was self employed in the automobile sales industry. He loved spending time with his family, his grandkids, and especially his great grandchildren.
Mr. McWhorter is survived by his wife, Shirley McWhorter; daughter and son-in-law, Rena (pronounced Renae) and Anthony Richardson; parents, Lewis and Myrtle McWhorter; sister and brother-in-law, LaBrenda and Ray Henson; grandchildren, Sky Richardson and Cody Richardson; great grandchildren, Zoey Slayton and Brylan Chambers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. McWhorter will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. John Eldridge and Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Burgess, Claude Burgess, Ronald Burgess, Ray Henson, Louis Brock and Mike Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Julius and Jackie Richardson, Stanley and Trish Brown, Keith Hurley and members of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Betty Jorene Boyd, age 85, of the Alpine Community, died Friday, December 9, 2016, at her residence.
Mrs. Boyd was born November 25, 1931, in Gaylesville, AL, daughter of the late John and Mattie Wester Tallent. She was Church of God by faith, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Boyd; sisters, Lucille Helms and Clevadale Tucker; brothers, Ray Tallent, and Toy Tallent.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Vicki Boyd, Alan Boyd; grandchildren, Gail Richardson, Kevin Boyd, Kristin Croy, Ben Stanfield, and Ryan Boyd; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Vickie Cronnan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Boyd will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Tucker officiating. Mr. Kristopher Dwight Wallin, age 38 of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Summerville, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Manatee Hospital.
Mr. Wallin was born in Rome, Georgia on November 4, 1978 son of Vera Nell Smith Wallin Love and the late Max B. Wallin. He was of the Baptist Faith, was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 129 in Summerville, and was employed in the security industry. In addition to his father, Mr. Wallin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, B.F. and Eula Wallin; Maternal Grandparents, James and Rose Lee Smith; and a brother, Timothy Wallin.
Mr. Wallin is survived by his wife, Tami Jo Metz Wallin; children, Kristopher Michael Wallin, Christian Metz, Lacey Bryanna Wallin, Elizabeth Metz and Danielle Marshall Johnson; Mother, Vera Wallin Love and her husband, David; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Vickey Johnson and Robert and Juliet Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Colleen and Lester Cordle, Cindy and David Hayes, Annette Hernandez, and Tamala Manus; grandson, Adam Johnson; and special friends, L.J, and Tiffany Schrader, Thomas and Jessica Roberts, Rodney Rosser, Lance Biddle, Travis Savoie, Timmy Powell and Jeremy Croft.

Mr. Billy Gwynne “Bo” Spraggins, age 63, of Trion, GA, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Spraggins was born December 4, 1952, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Rev. Bill Henry Spraggins and Frances Wilbanks Spraggins. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with Mount Vernon Mills.
Mr. Spraggins is survived by his children, Kevin Croy, Tina Spraggins; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Tracey Spraggins; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Fred Ufford; nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn Spraggins, Madison Spraggins, Kellie Henson, Kimberly Ufford, and James Ufford.

MR. John B. (JOHNNY) ECHOLS, Jr., age 77, of Hilltop Drive, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Summerville, Georgia on August 11, 1939, to the late John Berry Echols, Sr. and Elsie Hawkins Echols Johnson. Mr. Echols was owner/operator of Echols Appliance in Summerville, was a fireman with the City of Summerville and had served as Fire Chief for many years. He was a member of the Summerville First United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Echols was preceded in death by his wife the late Pamela A. Tawzer Echols.
Surviving are daughter & spouse, Terri & Tim Young; sons & spouse, Greg & Karen Echols and Jim Echols; sister & spouse, Honey & Dale Housch; grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, and Rachael Echols; Emily, Hannah, and Ethan Young; Aile and A. J. Echols; Four Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3rd, at 2:00 P.M. from Graveside in Summerville Cemetery, with Dr. Ed Judy officiating. Active Pallbearers Ethan Young, Matt Echols, Nathan Flood, Ben Housch, Eric Housch, and Casey Mann. The Family will receive friends Saturday after 1:00 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the City of Summerville Fire Department.
