Mr. Charles F. Adams Obit (M)

Mr. Charles F. Adams, age 77, formerly of Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his home in Chicago, IL, with all of his loved ones by his side. 
Mr. Adams was born May 10, 1939, in Chattooga County GA, the son of the late Oscar and Jarrell Starling Adams.   Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife; Alfreda Adams, brothers and sisters; Oscar Eugene Adams, Lillian Green Adams, Thurman D. Adams, Dorothy Adams Suttlles, and Evette Adams.
Survivors include,  brothers and sisters; Jackie R. Hoskins, Summerville, GA, Emily J. Underwood, Summerville, GA, Vickie J. Hoskins Blackwell, Summerville, GA,  Dyann Adams Randolph, Toledo, Ohio,  sister-in-law; Jeannett  Wiggins Adams, Atllanta, GA, aunt; Velma Starling Morton, Summerville, GA, a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 3, 2016 at AMI Cemetery in Menlo, GA with interment to follow in the family plot.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Mason Funeral Home 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 3, 2016.

Mrs. Dolores Anna Geise Marshall, Obit. (ER)

MRS. DOLORES ANNA GEISE MARSHALL, age 86, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at an area nursing home.  Mrs. Marshall was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Emil Carl Geise and Lonie Bohannon Geise.  She was retired from Roper Corporation and a member of Horizon Baptist Fellowship.  Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Marshall and step son, William Vance Marshall.

        Surviving are sisters, Caroline Ellenburg of Summerville and  Frances DeBerry of Rome; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

        Funeral and interment service will be held Wednesday, November 30th, at 2 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. John Harris officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Eddy Ellenburg, Matt Ellenburg, Jerry Floyd, Steve McChargue, James Lowery, and Mark Floyd.  The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carolyn Yarbrough Morrow Obit (M)

Mrs. Carolyn Yarbrough Morrow, age 78, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at her residence.

Mrs. Morrow was born November 13, 1938, in Valley Head, AL, daughter of the late Bryce and Sara Baker Yarbrough.  She was a member of the Summerville United Methodist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed as an office manager with Dr. Hugh Goodwin and Dr. Herman Spivey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Gaylor; and a nephew, Scott Gaylor.

Mrs. Morrow is survived by her husband, Russell D. Morrow; sons and daughter-in-law, Clint McCary, Mike McCary, Jeff and Michelle McCary; a daughter, Lisa Morrow; step-son, Greg Morrow; sister, Brenda Ward; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Morrow will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Pledger officiating.  Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be J. J. McCary, Matt Bemister, Mitch Bemister, Art Pledger, Daryle Pledger, and Cale Pledger.

Mrs. Maida Lou Sasser Kinsey Obit (M)

Mrs. Maida Lou Sasser Kinsey, age 91, of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Rome Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Kinsey was born August 24, 1925, in Panama City, FL, daughter of the late Randall Addison Sasser and Lula Mae Pennington Sasser.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bun Kinsey; half brother, J. B. Sasser, son-in-law, Reford Atkins; and step-great-granddaughter, Cassidy Gardner.
Mrs. Kinsey is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Earl and Brenda Diane Kinsey; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Ann and Ray Teems, Betty Jean and Gary “Pinky” Ward, Wilma Gail Atkins, Judy Diane and Frank Owens; half brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Candy Sasser; half sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Talmadge Taylor; 10 grandchildren and their spouses; 1 step-grandson; 14 great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kinsey will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2016, from the Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Autry and Dr. Rita Boyle officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be grandsons and include Brad Ward, Jason Teems, Christopher Atkins, Brian Kittle, Douglas Kinsey, and Joe Lanham.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Miss Jessica Yates Obit (C)

Miss Jessica Rae Yates, age 29, of Summerville, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at Redmond Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

 

Miss Yates was born in Charleston, South Carolina on August 13, 1987, daughter of Wallace C. Yates and Carol E. Bandy Arnett.  She was a member of the River of Life Church in Lafayette and was employed as an accountant with the Berry Memorial Library at Berry College.  She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, playing games and loved animals.  Miss Yates was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Earline Crider Craig; Maternal Grandfather, Charles Sydney Bandy; and paternal grandfather, George Presley Yates.

 

Miss Yates is survived by her mother and step-father, Carol and Don Arnett; father and step-mother, Wallace and Shirl Yates; grandmother, Carolyn Yates; step-sisters, Megan Arnett and Heather King; special friends, Jeremy Worsham, Rebecca Henry, Sherre Harrington, Cetoria Tomberlin, Michelle Horton, Jenny Klein, Vivian Darbin, Rikki Livingston and Marvin Angles.

 

Funeral Services for Miss Yates will be held Sunday, November 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Huff and Mr. Jeremy Worsham officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Hazel Ruth Millican, Obit. (ER)

MRS. HAZEL RUTH MILLICAN, age 73, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Charles M. (Prucell) Wesson, Sr. and Jacqueline Kellett Wesson Stephens on November 19, 1943.  Mrs. Millican was a devout Christian, and loved to meet with her Christian friends.  She was retired office manager for Dr. Jeff Appelbaum; was preceded in death by Parents, Her husband, the late Charles Loyd Millican, nephews, the late Shawn Wesson, Robin Meadows, and Randy Meadows, and aunt, the late Chris Dersa.

        Surviving are daughter, Diane Millican (Mike) Woodall; grandchildren, Jamye Dawson, Josh Dawson, and Jason Dawson; Six Great Grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Meadows and Rosemary Johnson; brother, Charles Martin Wesson, Jr.; aunt, Frances Ledford; uncle, Paul Kellett; nieces, Renee Ware, Rhonda Lively, and Kim Kellett; nephews, Coleman Ledford, Davin Meadows, Ricky Johnson, Kyle Wesson, and Landon Wesson; twelve Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and numerous Friends.

Mrs. Alice Ann Brooks Jones, age 73 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Jones was born in Summerville, Georgia on January 13, 1943, daughter of the late John Sidney Brooks and Olivia Rowls Brooks.  She was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church.  Mrs. Jones loved to dance and spend time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous husband, Fred Jones; son, Sidney Ponder; daughter, Debra Ponder; and two brothers, Charles Brooks and George Brooks.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lanell Ponder; stepchildren, Susan Jones, Pat Jones and Phil Jones; sister, Sylvia Johnson; grandchildren, Tyler Ponder, Dwight Ponder, Robin Gable, Barbie Gill, Dustin Ponder, and Lacey Timmons; step grandchildren, T.J. Rutledge and Natasha Rutledge; several great grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary Esther Nunn, age 78 of Trion, GA passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Pruitts Health Care @ Shepherd Hills in LaFayette, GA.  Mrs. Nunn was born

May 14, 1938 in Summerville, GA.  She was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church.  Mrs. Nunn loved keeping kids and also loved keeping the babies in the nursery at church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Scott Nunn and her father and mother, Alfred Collins Mount and Addie May Irene Bowers Mount.

     Mrs. Nunn is survived by her son and spouse, David and Lisa Nunn; her daughter, Marilyn Nunn; and uncle, Frank Bowers; cousins and nieces.

     Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday,

November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Petitt Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Dr. Warren Moorhead and Rev. Casey Bramlett officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Calvin Lee “Big CP” Parish, age 59, of Rome, GA, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Parish was born June 19, 1957, in Summerville, GA, son of the late L.E.  Parish and Phyllis Sneed Parish Eleam.  He was Baptist by faith and worked as a self-employed painter.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Jackson; brother-in-law, Randy Roberson; sister-in-law, Susan Parish; and a niece, Clarissa Jackson.
Mr. Parish is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Kelly Parish; a daughter, Crystal Parish; his mother, Phyllis Parish Eleam; brothers and sister-in-law, Lloyd Parish, Harold and Edna Parish; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
