Mr. Billy Clay Johnson, age 72, of Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born on October 30, 1943 to the late William and Mary Johnson  and was retired from ITT Lester.
Along with his parents Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by a brother; Jerry Johnson, and granddaughter; Alexis Evans
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife; Linda Dale Johnson, daughters; Amie & Kenny King and Lacie & Joshua Evans, brother; Steve Johnson, sisters; Paulette Lamb, Margaret Johnston, and Barbara Ware, and 3 grandchildren, Kiersten Becker, Jesse King, Tyson Legare Evans.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Friday in the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Westmoreland and Rev. Jake Morrison officiating.
Mr. Johnson will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends  from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday.

Mr. Joe Bob Wiggins, Obit. (M)

Mr. Joe Bob Wiggins, 77, of Summerville, GA made his transition Monday, May 30, 2016 at the home of his daughter.
 
Mr. Wiggins was born February 1, 1939 in Chattooga County to the late Charles and Ettie Wiggins, where he attended school, and after graduation worked at several area mills. He united with Pond Spring AME Zion Church in his youth. Mr. Wiggins was a very cheerful person who enjoyed making people smile and laugh.
 
Left to cherish his memory are 6 sons; Kenneth (DD) Wiggins, Ronald (Darlene) Wiggins, Donald (Pam) Wiggins,  Keith (Treva) Wiggins, Demerius Wiggins,  and Antonie Dallas, 4 daughters; Cassandra Glass, Andra (Fredrick) Smith, Cindy (Carlos) Spivey, and Rena Moore,  3 sisters: Bonita (Jeff) Betha, Earnestine (Waldow) Finley,  and Jimmie Ramoyne. 13 grandchildren, a host great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Wiggins will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Apostle Dr. Jennifer London officiating. Burial will follow at Wiggins Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kelly Wiggins, Merial Wiggins, Travis Smith, Sharon Powell and Tamarris Evans.
 
The family will receive friends  from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. William Frank McCrickard, Obit. (M)

William Frank McCrickard, age 75, of Lyerly, GA, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at his residence.
 
He was born May 28, 1940, in Lyerly, GA, son of the late John William and Lena Belle Copeland McCrickard.  He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and served with dedication and commitment to teaching, preaching, and singing.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Mohawk where he was a member of the 25 Year Elite Club.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Lewis "Bob" McCrickard.
 
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy McCollum McCrickard; daughters and son-in-law, Paige and Doug Farmer, Amy Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Barbara McCrickard, Buddy and Amelia McCrickard, Gary and Loretta McCrickard; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Nick Stoner; step-grandchildren, Joseph Farmer, Lauren Neal, and Erik Farmer.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 27, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Odom, Rev. Jimmy Bailey, and Rev. Brian Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lyerly Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Mike McCrickard, John McCrickard, Barry McCrickard, Todd Thomas, Jeremy Croy, Marcus McCrickard, and Bob Dover.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McArthur, Robert Brown, Mike Odom, the members of Trinity Baptist Church, and all former co-workers at Mohawk.

Mrs. Annie Mae Pope, age 91, of Trion, GA, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
 
Mrs. Pope was born August 30, 1924, in Calhoun, GA, daughter of the late William "Bill" and Annie Clark.  She was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.   She was also a member of the Quarter Century Club.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Pope; brothers, Joseph H. Clark and Allan Clark; sisters, Pet Crowe, Myrtle Goodnight, and Beaty Wood; and a grandson, Donnie Pope.
 
Mrs. Pope is survived by her nephews, Billy Clark, Sr. and Louis Clark; niece, Shirley Reed; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Pope will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, May 27, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Holman and Bro. MRS. ELLEN WILSON, age 92, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday (May 24, 2016) morning in an Armuchee hospice center.  A native of Berryton, Georgia, She was born to the late Bruce Youngward Bynum and the late Velma McGraw Bynum Adams on November 26, 1923.  Mrs. Wilson attended Berryton School, was a waitress at the former State Restaurant and later deli supervisor at the Summerville Hurley’s Food Center.  She was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, the Dorcus Sunday School Class, and for many years a faithful member of the Adult Choir.  Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles B. Wilson, and siblings, Mary Bynum, Vesta Bynum, Russell Bynum, Betty Shireman, Louise Ivey, and James Bynum.

        Surviving are daughter and spouse, Phyllis & Earle Rainwater; grandchildren, Tracy & Tracy Rainwater, Schawna & Vince Collier, Clint & Amy Rainwater; great Grandchildren, Carrie Martin, Emily Rainwater, Lauren Rainwater, and Abbie Rainwater; several Nieces and Nephews.

        Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27th, at 11:30 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey, Dr. David Hunter, Rev. Mr. George Paul Baird, age 87, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at his residence.
 
Mr. Baird was born September 10, 1928, in the Fisher Community of Crookston, MN, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George P. Baird, Sr.  He was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Navy, having served for 37 years.  He was also the owner and operator of his own metal fabrication shops in Winder, GA and Marietta, GA.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Buie; and a son, Wayne T. Baird.
 
Mr. Baird is survived by his wife, Anna Lee Jackson Baird; a son, Paul Baird III; a sister, Mary Ann Kosnick; 6 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Baird will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 28, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mary Virginia Broome Dooley, age 90, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday May 20, 2016, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Dooley was born May 29, 1925, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late Smith Jefferson Broome  and  Annie Octavia Kinsey Dooley. She was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Riegel Textiles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Dooley.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Pauline Dooley, Melvin and Gail Dooley, sisters, Minnie Meek, Ann Bobo, and Clair Bell Dawson; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dooley will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Landon Reynolds, Ryan Wilson, Jim Dooley, Tim Dooley, Buford Fox, and Kenny Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Grace Sunday School Class of the Dry Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Karen Day Brooks, age 60, of Gaylesville, AL, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.
 
Mrs. Brooks was born May 11, 1956, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of Bobbie Lynn Jackson Day and the late James Emmett "Shorty" Day.  She was a homemaker and had worked in construction.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael "Little Mike" Day. 
 
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Edward Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Alisha Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Chris Harris, Kelia Crider and Joshua Bates; mother, Bobbie Day; a sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Michael Wayne Morris; and 8 grandchildren.
 
Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Brooks will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016, from the Johnson Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Buster Spivey, Chris Smith, Chris Harris, Jackson Harris, Michael Morris, Dawson Glenn, Dillon Peg, Shane Smith, and Charles Hooker III.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bonnie "Grannie" Callaway and Kathy Smith.

MR. RICHARD LAMAR COPELAND, age 68, of Sagebrush Lane, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, morning in a Rome hospital.  Born on September 1, 1947 in Milledgeville, Georgia, He was a son of the late Charlie and Wessie Jackson Copeland and Jim and Ola Anderson.  Mr. Copeland was Baptist by Faith and was retired from heating and air conditioning.

        Surviving are His wife, Sandra Copeland; sons, Brian Copeland and Brit Copeland; granddaughter, Brooke Copeland; grandsons, Nick Copeland and Noah Brit Copeland; sisters, Catherine Potter and Emma Lou Pullen; brothers, Carl Anderson and William “Fuzz” Anderson; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

        Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 from the graveside in Greenhills Memory Garden with Pastor Casey Bramlett officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Nick Copeland, Noah Copeland, Joey Carnes, James Anderson, Farrell Anderson, and Billy Clark.  The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 2 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.
