Mr. Clifford Douglas “Cotton” Bullard Obit (M)

Mr. Clifford Douglas "Cotton" Bullard, age 64, of Gaylesville, AL, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Bullard was born July 11, 1951, in Centre, AL, son of the late Clifford Shelton Bullard and Jessie Ruth Short Bullard.  He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Carpenters Local 225.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bullard was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Bullard.

Mr. Bullard is survived by his wife, Susan Bullard; sons, Josh Bullard, Clifford "Boss" Bullard, and Seth Bullard; a daughter, Tammy Pangle; brothers, Donny Bullard, Dan Bullard, and Tom Bullard; sisters, Linda Crowe and Kathline Finney; grandchildren, Nicole Jones, P. J. Pangle, Lane Reeves, Chole Rosser, Ashley Rosser, Chasiti Rosser, Kenzie Rosser, and Maddie Rosser.

Funeral services for Mr. Bullard will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating.  Interment will follow in the Moseley Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ricky Langley, Josh Langley, Brandon Langley, David Glenn, Tyler Bullard, and P. J. Pangle.

Mrs. Carol Anne Boyd Obit (M)

Mrs. Carol Ann Boyd, age 64, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at her residence.
 
Mrs. Boyd was born February 21, 1951, daughter of the late Luther Edward McClead and Anna Nora Wilson McClead.  She was a homemaker and was retired from Best Manufacturing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eddievill Price and Reno Coppa; sisters, Geneva Curtone and Mary Ann Coppa; and a grandson, Joey Randall Myers.
 
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her husband, James Edward Boyd, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, James Edward Jr. and Margie Boyd, Lamar Faye and Lisa Boyd, Rickey Ladon and Amy Boyd, Chuck Lynn and Stacey Boyd; brother, Bobby Price; sisters, Betty Lou Coppa and Norma Catherine Miller; grandchildren, Misty Boyd, Jason Boyd, Ashley Boyd, Landon Boyd, Tyler Boyd, Abbie Boyd, Allie Boyd, Matt Boyd, Cody Boyd, Hope Boyd, and Kaitlyn Boyd; and 12 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Boyd will be held at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday, November 25, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Malcolm Harris and Rev. John Mann officiating.  Interment will follow in the Alpine Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Wayne Boyd, Alan Boyd, Paul Myers, Jamie Tucker, David Huskey, and Kevin Boyd.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, George Coffia, and Dan Hunter.

Mr. James Edward Miller Obit (M)

Mr. James Edward Miller, age 68, Menlo, GA, passed away Saturday November 21, 2015, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Miller was born December 26, 1946, in Trion, GA, the son of the late D.M. (Doc) Miller and Myrtle Estel Woodall Miller.  He was employed with the Chattooga County Public Works Department. 

 Survivors include his wife, Carol DeLay Miller, Daughter, Misty Burdick, Rome, GA, Step-son, Jeff Tomlin, Lafayette, GA, Step-daughter, April & Husband, Lamar Dennison, Lafayette, GA, Brother, Jesse Lee & Wife, Alisa Miller, Sister, Mary Ann Miller Wood, Grandchildren, Tyler Burdick, Austin Burdick, Dustin  Dennison, Jonathan Tomlin, Jesse Tomlin, Great-grandchild, Weston Tomlin and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral service will be  held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Bishop officiating with interment in  the Lyerly Cemetery.  Active and Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Chattooga County Public Works Department.

Mr. James Kenneth Stowe Obit (M)

Mr. James Kenneth Stowe, age 79, of Trion, GA, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at his residence.
 
Mr. Stowe was born August 14, 1936, in Trion, GA, son of the late Earl and Della Stowe.  He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lowanna Jo Stowe.
 
Mr. Stowe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Crystal Stowe; a brother, David Stowe; sister, Sue Anderson; and a granddaughter, Anna Stowe.
 
Mr. Stowe will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 21, 2015.  Burial will be held at West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Clifton Eugene Wooten Obit (C)

Mr. Clifton Eugene Wooten, age 85 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 in Rossville, Georgia.

Mr. Wooten was born in Summerville, Georgia on January 28, 1931, son fo the late Oliver Miles Wooten and Emma Tucker Wooten.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army in the Signal Corps, and was retired Velsicol Chemical Company in Chattanooga.  Mr. Wooten loved spending time with his family, fishing and boating, going to Flea Markets, was an avid Georgia Bulldog, and was always ready for the beaches of Florida.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Venable Wooten; grandchildren, Heather Wooten, Eric Wooten and Brian Lively; great grandchildren, Alyssa Wooten, and Hayley Wooten; and brother, Willard Wooten.

Mr. Wooten is survived by his children, Tim and Donna Wooten, Lamar and Suzie Wooten, David and Lamar Wooten, Michael Wooten and Gail and Blaine Helton; brothers, Robert Wooten and Hoyt Wooten; sisters, Betty Lynch and Carey McDaniel; grandchildren, Brandi Schrimpsher, Travis Wooten, Jahala Hawkins, Miranda Wooten and Ashley Wooten; 18 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Wooten will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Perennial Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Helton, CJ Morgan and Travis Wooten.

Mr. Charles William White Obit (C)

Mr. Charles William White, age 90, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. White was born in Summerville, Georgia on November 17, 1924, son of the late Joseph Wesley White and Annie Lee Byars White.  He was a member of the Berryton Church of God and had been attending the Dry Valley Baptist Church.  Mr. White loved to fish, and enjoyed reading his Bible daily.  He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Air Force, and prior to retirement, was employed as a mechanic with Lowe Cadillac in Rome, Georgia before becoming self employed.  Mr. White was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Rogers White in 1981; second wife, Mary Jo Kirby White in 2009; son, Steve Preston White in 2009; brother, Harold Dean White; sisters, Martha White Edwards and Pat White Stoker.

Mr. White is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Nancy White, NC, Dale White, Summerville, Noland Dewayne and Patsy White of Summerville, Roger Jerome and Renee White of Trion; step-daughters, Mary Nell (Randy) Fowler; Sandy Ball of VA; Phyllis Elrod of Summerville; step-son, Phillip Kirby of VA; sisters, Ann White Stoker and Nancy White Watkins; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. White will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Weaver and Rev. Jimmy Chastain officiating.  Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Michael White, Steve Morrison, Brandon Gurley, Larry Stoker, Kelly Kirby and Jeremy White.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of Dry Valley Baptist Church.

Mr. Bobby Dean Brown Obit (M)

Mr. Bobby Dean Brown, age 68, of Cloudland, GA, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Brown was born September 19, 1947, in Metter, GA, son of the late George Cleveland Brown and Mary Jane Padgett Tyson.  Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed contractor.  Mr. Brown was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Donna Irene Brown, sons, Robert Ashley Brown, John Ross Brown, David Hamilton Brown, and Michael Lance Brown; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Kay Brooks, Charlotte Michelle and Abe Wall; a sister, Mary Morris; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 19, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Tate Family Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Abe Wall, Darryl Adams, Joe Hudgins, Glenn Doss, Ross Porter, and Jamie Bell.

Mrs. Madge Lee Howell Smith Obit (C)

Mrs. Madge Lee Howell Smith, age 95, of Trion, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Smith was born in Hamilton, Alabama on May 17, 1920, daughter of the late Elmon Eugene Howell and Lura Jane Evans Howell.  She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, where her parents were charter members.  Mrs. Smith attended schools in Marion County, Alabama and also attended the Edmondson Business School in Chattanooga.  She was employed at the Riegel Glove Mill, Barwick Mills, and Amos Glove Manufacturing.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Smith on January 2, 2013; sister, Verda Howell Smith and her husband, Troy; brother, H. Ralph Howell and his wife Earlene; brother, J. Dalton Howell and his first wife, Mae and Second Wife Flora; nephew, Eugene H. Smith; and nieces, Mary Alice Smith Garner Boaz, and Lowanna Jo Smith Stowe, and a step-son-in-law, Bill Sturdivant.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a niece, Helen Howell Loggins and her husband, Joseph of Summerville, Georgia; step-daughter, Susan Sturdivant and her children Kelly, Gilbert and Keri of Ratliff City, OK; niece, Juanita Garner Smith; nephew, James K. Stowe and Several great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to express great appreciation and gratitude to her caregivers, Janice Dowdy, Gail Hughes, Linda Patterson, Vickie Darnell, Judy Bright Gambill and Jeanette Daniel for the dedication, love and care they gave to Mrs. Smith.  They brought much joy and comfort to her life.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Smith will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Patterson officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Shanna Graves (M)

Mrs. Shanna Louise Rice Graves, age 41, of Gaylesville, AL, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Graves was born September 18, 1974, in Ashland, KY, daughter of Richard A. Rice and Bonita Belcher Rice.  She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Helen Belcher, Leonard and Jackie Rice; uncles, Charles Belcher, Jerry Belcher, and Frank Belcher; and an aunt, Donna Twinam.

Mrs. Graves is survived by her husband, Randall Lavon Graves; parents, Richard and Bonita Rice; son, Austin Randall Graves; step-sons, Chase Graves and Blake Graves; a brother, Richard Rice, Jr.; sister, Alisha Rice; and an uncle, James Belcher.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Graves was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
