MRS. BETTY JANE McNEIL, age 80, of Marietta, formerly of Menlo, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, morning in Marietta.  A native of Campbellton, Georgia, She was born to the late William Hollis and Sarah Hammett Lee on January 19, 1935.  Mrs. McNeil a devoted wife and mother was preceded in death by her husband, the late Rev. J. B. McNeil, Sr. on February 23, 2012.

Surviving are daughters & spouses, Nanci & Steve Hicks and Sarah & Steve Widincamp; sons & spouses, Britt & Melody McNeil and Lee & Jane McBNeil; sisters, Irene Sauls and Mary Lynn Oxford; grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew, James, Kirsten, Anna, Rebekah, and Nathan McNeil, Atticus and Annie Hicks, Susanna and Luke Brantley, and Mary Ellen Widincamp; great grandchildren, Kendal McNeil and Corbin Hicks; several Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial service will be held Friday, October 2nd, at 2:00 P.M. from the Campbellton United Methodist Church with Rev. Zueon Smith officiating; private interment in Campbellton United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Grandchildren.  The Family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 7 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.  The Family request in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Alzheimer Association. Mrs. Polly Wayne Plunkett, age 67, of LaFayette, GA, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Hutcheson Medical Center. 

Mrs. Plunkett was born June 28, 1948, in Fort Payne, AL, daughter of the late Glen and Alfie Barnett Parker.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Synthetic.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Paul Nations; sisters, Dolly Hilburn, Opal Dutton, Ruby Gladden, and Frances Reese; and a brother, Orville Parker. 

Mrs. Plunkett is survived by her sons, Junior Nations and Lee Plunkett; a brother, Floyd Parker; sisters, Willie Mae Parker, Carrie Allmon, and Elsie Sanders; 2 grandchildren; and 2 step-grandchildren. 

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 20, 2015, from the Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating.  Pallbearers will be Brandon Carlton, John Campbell, and T. J. Campbell.

Mr. Jimmy D. “PePaw” Williamson, age 83, of the Dickeville Community, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Williamson was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on July 1, 1932, son of the late Lee Williamson and Omie Meadows Williamson Hughes.  He was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church and had been employed with Wendy’s Restaurant in Trion for the past 11 years.  Mr. Williamson retired from maintenance Department of Mt. Vernon Mills in 1998 after over 35 years of service.  He was a man with a strong work ethic and kept himself busy gardening, woodworking and hunting.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Williamson on September 9, 2014; and three brothers, James Wright, Leroy Williamson and Charlie Williamson.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his children, Steve Williamson and Brenda Williamson; brothers, Delbert(Peggy) Williamson and William Hughes; two grandchildren, Stephanie(Stephen) Williams and Calen(Clancey) Cooper; a great granddaughter, Scarlett Williams; and a number of step-brothers and step-sisters; his beloved fur babies, Hank and Trouble and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Williamson will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Everett, John Everett, Jr., Tom Everett, Terry Whaley, Randy Hunter and Hayward Hunter.  Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his friends from Wendy’s.

Mr. Williamson will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

Mrs. Carrie R. Harrison, age 94 of the Pennville Community, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Harrison was born in Summerville, Georgia on December 20, 1920, daughter of the late Alec Reynolds and Mary Bachopper Reynolds.  She was a member of the Pennville Baptist Church,  loved to sew and crochet and was retired from Riegel Textile Mill.  Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Franklin Harrison; a brother and several sisters.

Mrs. Harrison is survived by her son, Greg Harrison; a sister, Beatrice Seymore; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Harrison will be held Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Jackie Richard Drummond, age 72, of Trion, GA, died Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Drummond was born July 23, 1943, in Trion, GA, son of the late Homer Lee and Althea Katherine Smith Drummond.  He was a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church and had previously worked with Hurley's Grocery Store.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Marie Alexander Drummond; and a sister, Anna Sue Clapper.

Mr. Drummond is survived by his sister, Katherine Bethune; nieces and nephews, Pam Naughton, Cheri Jett, Mark Bethune, and Michelle Bicknell; and special friend, Linda Ash.

Funeral services for Mr. Drummond will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mark Bethune, John Jett, Alex Naughton, Clete Holzer, Billy Cook, and Larry Bolton.

Rev. James Leon Stager, age 92, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015, in Cherokee Nursing and Rehab.

Rev. Stager was born December 1, 1922, in Lindale, GA, the son of the late James Davis and Micheal Ledford Stager.  He was a Baptist Minister serving as pastor of Baptist Churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee for over fifty years.  He was a graduate of Cave Spring  School, a veteran of U S Army having served in WWII, and was a member of the Trion First Baptist.  Rev. Stager was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Trotter Stager, brothers, Clifford Stager, R.C. (Buddy) Stager, H.F. (Jim) Stager, sister, Hazie Justice, and a son-in-law, David A. Garmon.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Liz  Stager, Douglasville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Genela and Mike Hutchins, Menlo, GA, brother, Lloyd (Bill) Stager, Lindale, GA, grandchildren, Connie and Claye Barwick, Rome, GA, Krista and Mike Kenner, Duck Creek, Utah, Amy and Jeromie Hartline, Acworth, GA, Steve Stager, Douglasville, GA, great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kenner and Carter Kenner, Duck Creek, Utah.

Graveside and entombment services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday September 16, 2015, from the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens in Rome, GA. with Rev. John Fleming officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Steve Stager, Dave Stager, Malcom Stager, Bill Stager, Robert Winkle, and Mike Hutchins.

MRS. ANN YOUNG, age 91, of Maple Drive, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at her residence.  A native of Broometown, Alabama, She was born to the late John H. and Minnie Pearl Powell Humphrey, on December 14, 1923.  Mrs. Young was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church and was retired from the sewing department of Montgomery Knitting Mill.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Perry Young on October 21, 1985, a sister, Pearl Humphrey, brothers, Ben Humphrey, Earl Humphrey, Jack Humphrey, J. D. Humphrey, and H. P. Humphrey, and sons-in-law, the late Grady Bennett and Donald Green.

 Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Jimmie Ann & Ron Nicholson, Peggy Young Green, Pat & Randy Money, and Donna Whitmire; granddaughter & spouse, Alania & Britt Carpenter, great granddaughter, Emma Carpenter; special friends, Joyce & Darrell McKeehan; care givers, Regina Dodd, Peggy Stricklin, Shelia Stowe, and Life Choice Hospice.
