Mrs. Patricia “Marcie” Galloway Chumley Obit (M)

Mrs. Patricia “Marcie” Galloway Chumley, age 76, of Menlo, GA, passed away Friday February 6, 2015, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Chumley was born August 7, 1938, in Cherokee County  Alabama,  the daughter of the late Lonnie and Lena Deering Galloway. She was a retired textile worker having worked at E.T. Barwick, Salem Carpet and Montgomery Knitting Mill.  She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church and preceded in death by her husband, Ed Chumley, brothers, Max Galloway, and Jerry Galloway.
 
Survivors  include her children, Douglas Combs, Jimmy Combs, Virginia L. Sholtz, Alena Bradford, Robin JaBour, sisters, Janice Galloway, Roberta Cash, 18 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday February 9, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rusty Letson officiating with interment in the AMI Cemetery.  Active pallbearers, Jason Smith, Phil Cash, Brandon Galloway, Colin Combs, Zack Bradford, Kenneth Loren Sholtz.

MS. NANCY CRIDER, age 71, of Smith Rail Road,
Lyerly, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015,
at her residence. A native Chattooga Countian, She was
born to the late Leonard and Eva Lois Dover Green on
January 27, 1944. Ms. Crider was a member of Berryton
Baptist Church and was preceded in death by son, Jay Crider,
granddaughter, the late Starr Bowers Petrie, and brothers &
sister-in-law, the late Richard Green, Larry Green,
Ray & Terresa Green, and Jerry Green.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Angie & Jeff Bowers
of Jacksonville Beach, FL; grandson, J. J. Bowers; three
Great Grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law,
Betty June & Wayne Pope of Menlo, Charlotte & Terry Woody
of Berryton, and Sadie & Ronnie Croy of Lyerly;
several Nieces and Nephews and special friends Juanita Battles
and Don McGraw also survive.

February 7th, @ 2:00 P.M. from the Berryton Baptist Church,

Mr. Donald Glover Green Obit (M)

Mr. Donald Glover Green, age 72, of Cloudland, GA, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Floyd Medical Center.
 
Mr. Green was born April 13, 1942, in Cloudland, GA, son of the late Oscar Glover and Nellie Mae Adams Green.  He was a lifetime member of the Cloudland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendant.  Prior to his retirement, he worked as a supervisor with Mohawk Industries.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special cousin, Charles Green.
 
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Peggy Young Green; daughter, Regina Green Dodd; sons and daughter-in-law, Chad O. Green, Chris and Stacie Hughes Green; grandchildren, Chelsea LeAnn Dodd, Madison Green, Sarah Green, Kate Green, Mason Green; mother-in-law, Ann M. Young; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jimmie and Ron Nicholson, Pat and Randy Money, Donna Whitmire; niece, Alania and Britt Carpenter; great-niece, Emma Carpenter; special cousins, Phil and Burmah Green, Alice Ruth Green, Preston Green, and Vera and Charles Gilbreath.
 
Memorial services for Mr. Green will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, February 15th  from the Cloudland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Roger Kvam officiating.

Mrs. Farice Cavin, age 73, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Wednesday February 4, 2015, at her residence.
 
Mrs. Cavin was born June 29, 1942, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late Claude Willingham and Pearl Shaver Willingham.  She was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church.  Mrs. Cavin was retired from Bigelow Carpet.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Cavin; and a granddaughter, Amanda Hartline.
 
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kim Bullard, Becky and
Phil Lenderman; sister, Faye Tucker; brothers, George Willingham,
Bud Willingham, and Bob Willingham; grandchildren, Jerry and
Crystal Hartline, and Whitney Bullard; great-grandchildren, Drew
Hartline, Danielle Hartline, Isabella Hartline, Vivian Hartline, and
Cayla Couch; great-great-grandchild, Nevah Rose King.

Mr. James William McDonald Obit (M)

Mr. James William McDonald, age 85, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.
 
Mr. McDonald was born January 29, 1930, in LaFayette, GA, son of the late Winston Alton and Margaret Corrine Williams McDonald.  He was retired from the City of Summerville and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War.  He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 6688 and the American Legion Post 129.  In addition to his parents, Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Arleetha Wilson McDonald; and a granddaughter, Cortney Leann Fulmer.
 
Mr. McDonald is survived by his sons, Randy McDonald and Rex McDonald; daughters, Jamye McDonald, Kyla Wilbanks, and Margaret Nell Fulmer; sisters, Thelma Brown, Kathryn McDonald, Dean Cox, and Frances Payton; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Goldie Patty.
 
Funeral services for Mr. McDonald will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Shores officiating.  Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be grandsons and include Jordan Wilbanks, Joshua Wilbanks, Jonathan McDonald, Isaac McDonald, Benji McDonald, and nephew, James Mullins.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Chattooga Senior Center, the members of the V.F.W. Mr. James Richard Johnson (Willis)

MR. JAMES RICHARD JOHNSON, Jr. – Age 65, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 in a local hospital. He was retired from Mount Vernon Mills, Inc. in the Shipping Department and was preceded in death by mother, Elois Mae Johnson, father, James Richard Johnson, Sr., and step father, Floyd Frazier.

He is survived by his three sisters, Amy Johnson, Shelly Lee Frazier, and Sherry Ann Johnson; nephew, Alonzo Johnson; devoted nephew, Jamahl Johnson; one great nephew, Mathias Johnson; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service for Mr. James Richard Johnson will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 1:00 P. M. at New Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor R. E. Barrett officiating. Mrs. Elinor Marie Bramlett Obit (M)

Mrs. Elinor Marie Bramlett, age 86, of LaFayette, GA, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, in Anderson, South Carolina.
 
Mrs. Bramlett was born November 21, 1928, in Fort Payne, AL, daughter of the late William H. and Lena Ross Savage.  She was a homemaker and a member of the LaFayette Church of Christ.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Bramlett; sisters, Boyce Barnes, Ruby England, and Henrietta Fowler.
 
Mrs. Bramlett is survived by her sons, Bobby Bramlett and Gary Bramlett; a daughter, Mrs. Michael Drummond; a brother, James Savage; a sister, Jane York; 8 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Bramlett will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Min. David Paden officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.

Mr. Leo Fay “Cooley” Brown Obit (M)

Mr. Leo Fay “Cooley” Brown, age 84, of Trion, GA, passed away Sunday February 1, 2015, in Floyd Medical Center.
 
Mr. Brown was born May 9, 1930, in Trion, GA, the son of the late Joseph Eugene and Agnes Vivian Evans Brown.  Mr. Brown was retired from Roper Corp.   He was a veteran of  the U.S. Army, loved fishing, was an avid golfer, and a former golf pro at the Trion Golf Course.
He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Regina Faye Prince, Kenneth Daniel Prince, and a sister Dorothy Ledford.
 
Survivors include his children, Bucky R. & Marcia Brown, Eddie McWhorter, Brannon Brown, Vickie Darnell, brother, Johnny M. Brown, SR, sister,  Jane Brown, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 3, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mr. Roy Douglas Cox Obit (C)

Mr. Roy Douglas Cox, age 78, of Rains Circle, Summerville, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Cox was born in Berryton, Georgia on March 23, 1936, son of the late John R. and Eunice Kellett Cox. He was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church, and prior to retirement, was employed with Mohawk Industries in Lyerly for 55 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death his brothers, John W. Cox, Tom Cox and Max Cox.

Mr. Cox is survived by his wife of 55 years Peggy Hughes Cox, daughter, Melissa Cox Johnson; Brothers and sister-in-law, Joe and Dean Cox, and Ben Cox; granddaughter, Kayla Johnson and a great grandson, Kayson, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cox will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bailey and Chaplain Alan Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyerly Cemetery.
