MRS. MINNIE KEEN LOCKLEAR ALLMOND, age 84, of Tate Road-Trion,Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at her residence, following an extended illness. Mrs. Allmond, a lifetime resident of Chattooga County, was born in the Teloga Community on May 1, 1930 to the late Elgin and Bertie Simmons Keen. She was a member of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church, a 1948 graduate of Menlo High School, and was retired from the spinning department of Riegel Textile Corporation. Mrs. Allmon was preceded in death by former husband the late Ben Locklear, brother-the late Elbert Keen, granddaughter-the late Amy Elizabeth Farrar, son-in-law-the late Tarry Dupree, and brother-in-law-the late Bill Shamblin. Surviving are Her husbabd-Sam Allmond; daughters & spouse, Gail and Greg Cook, Edith Dendy, and Barbara Dupree; step children & spouse-DeWayne & Ruby Allmond, Dewey Allmond, and Tracy Michelle Allmond; sisters & brothers-in-law-Jo Shamblin, Evelyn Willigham & Gene Day, Shelby & Paul Ward, Mary & Harold Floyd; brother & sisters-in-law-David & Marlene Keen and Charlotte Keen; eight Grandchildren; six Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Beersheba Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ronald Ragon, Rev. Jack Westlund, Rev. Ken Johnson, and Chaplain Ricky Studdard officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bradley Douglas Merrell, age 39, of Summerville, Georgia
passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Merrell was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on November 4,
1974, son of James Norman Merrell and Linda Reeves Ballenger.
He was a 1992 graduate of Chattooga High School, attended the
Art Institute of Atlanta, the University of Florida at Panama City Beach,
and was self employed as a professional Chef. Mr. Merrell was preceded
in death by his maternal grandfather, Dr. Seaborn Reeves, and
his paternal grandparents, Norman and Margie Merrell of Rome.
Mr. Merrell is survived by his father and step-mother, James and
Denise Merrell of Canton, OH; mother and step-father, Linda and
Ben Ballenger of Summerville; sister, Laura Ferriera of Chicago; half
sisters, Angela Merrell of Dublin, OH and Kathryn Schwieterman of Centerville,
OH; step-sisters, Katie Pasque of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Katherine Hahn
of Canton, OH; step-brother, Robert Ballenger of Philadelphia; grandmother,
Faye Reeves of Rome; a special friend, Kim Teems Moore, and a number of
additional relatives and friends.
Private memorial services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Mrs. Nina Ruth Bryan, age 48, of Trion, GA, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at her residence.
Mrs. Bryan was born October 20, 1965, in LaFayette, GA, the daughter of Nina Mae Timmons Tapp and the late Eddie Lee Tapp. She was a homemaker. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Ray Tapp; and a sister, Doris Elaine Shelton.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by her husband, Karl Bryan; sons, Karl G. Bryan, Jr., Joshua Bryan, and Timothy Bryan; a daughter, Nina Markham; mother, Nina Tapp; brothers, Roger Tapp, Troy Tapp, and Larry Tapp; sisters, Myra Collins, Rita Treadaway, Tammy Moses, and Cynthia Carter.
Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Bryan will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from the Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wright officiating.
Mrs. Bryan will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.

Mr. W. A. Hutchins, age 90, of Summerville, GA, passed away Monday May 5, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Hutchins was born September 19, 1923, he was owner and operator of the Hutchins Farm, a member of the Beersheba Presbyterian Church, and preceded in death by his wife of 62 years the late Sarah Harper Hutchins, granddaughter, Sara Jane Hunter.
Survivors include his children, Mike Hutchins, Ann Hutchins, Mary Firsdon, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Thornhill Marks, age 96, of Summerville, GA died Monday, May 5, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Marks was born July 29, 1917 in Bridgeton, NJ, the daughter of the late Mark Thornhill and Mildred Brosius . She has lived in Chattooga County since 1945. She was retired from Marks Auto. Mrs. Marks was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Trion. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John HarryMarks.
Mrs. Marks is survived by her husband, James Harry Marks; children, Paul Thornhill Marks, and wife, Susan Mathis Marks, James Whipple Marks, and partner, Nicholas Apostol; Nancy Marion Crawford, and husband, Charles Marion Crawford; grandchildren, Peter Marion Crawford, and Harry Marion Crawford.
