Mr. Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” Rainey, age 66, of Summerville, GA died Saturday,

May 3, 2014, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Rainey was born September 21, 1947, in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late Robert William Rainey and Margaret Womac Rainey White.  He was employed with Wal-Mart of Trion.  He was formerly employed with Worldwide Volvo and Mt . Vernon Mills. Mr. Rainey was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-mother, Barbara Rainey; a step-father, James White; and a brother, James E. White, III.  Kenny was loved by all who knew him.

Mr. Rainey is survived by his wife, Susan Gail Rainey; daughter, Sharon Rainey; sons, Clint Rainey and Steve Rainey; brother, Richard Lee White; sister, Lisa Marie Burgess; grandchildren, Justus Rainey, Jordan Rainey, Randall Rainey, Robert Rainey, Ricky Rainey, Ryan Rainey, Annabelle Rainey, and Austin Keen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Lee Cemetery in McDonald , TN.  Pallbearers will be Randall Rainey, Robert, Rainey, Ricky Rainey, Ryan Rainey, Austin Keen, and Shannon Keen.

Mr. Rainey will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014.

Mr. Cecil Wigley, age 70 of Lyerly, GA died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Preceded in death are his parents, Walter and Daisy Wigley, two brothers, Odell Smith and James Wigley, and one sister, Florene Murphy.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Wigley of Lyerly, son, Steven Joe Wigley of Lyerly, brothers, Floyd Smith of Eton, and Londell (Phyllis) Wigley of Resaca, sisters, Pauline Wilbanks of Murphreesboro, TN and Blondell Williamson of Ider, AL, special friends, Kathy and Jimmy Mann of Lyerly and Caddy Calloway of Gaylesville, AL.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 04, 2014 at 2PM from Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Burial will follow in New Canaan Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 10AM to 2PM.

Mrs. Mary Caldonia Keith, age 84, of LaFayette, GA, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Shepherd Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation.
 
Mrs. Keith was born August 8, 1929, in Lafayette, GA, daughter of the late Walter Mann and Lou Ella Brown Mann.  She was a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church and was retired from the Jewelry Chest.  She was preceded in death by brothers, George, Bud, Ottis and Albert Mann, sisters, Velma Smith, Inez Rape, and Millie Brown.
 
Mrs. Keith is survived by her husband, William Boyce Keith, Sr.; a son, William Boyce Keith, Jr.; daughters, Donna Leshia Rhudy and Sherry Lynette Lawrence;  sisters, Catheryn Pope, Pearl Wilbanks, Brenda Knight, and Annie Ruth Bryant; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Keith will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday May 4, 2014 from the Ridgeway Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Smith, Rev. Robert Patterson, and Bro. Steve Keith  officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgeway Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Grandchildren, Adam Hogue, Chad Hogue, Jonathan Lawrence, Corey Rhudy, Deanna Keith, Jeremy Mathis.  Honorary pallbearers, Jeff Mann, Cody Mann, Larry Mann, Walter Smith, and Kelley Keith.  
 
Mrs. Keith will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Saturday May 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m.    Mrs. Keith will also lie in state at the Ridgeway Baptist Church Sunday May 4, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.                  .

Mrs. Barbara Jean Swanson Cordle, age 72, of Trion, GA, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Mrs. Cordle was born December 13, 1941, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late Clifford M. Swanson and Mary Elizabeth Oliver Swanson.  She was a homemaker and attended the Fair View South Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Swanson.

 

Mrs. Cordle is survived by her husband, Tommy Fay Cordle; sons and daughters-in-law, Cliff and Kelly Cordle, Steven and Frankie Cordle; daughter and son-in-law, Tina Cordle and Mike Howard; a brother, Teddy Swanson; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Cordle will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lowell Cantrell and Rev. Tom Russell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.

Mr. Harold Charles Slayton, age 66, of Trion, GA died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Kindred Hospital.

Mr. Slayton was born August 25, 1947 in Gaylesville, AL, the son of Audrey Lee Slayton Haggard and the late James Clyde Slayton. He was a member of Old Way Baptist Church. Mr. Slayton was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Haggard; uncles and brothers, Bobby Slayton, W. J. Slayton, Raymond Slayton, Charlie D. Slayton, Earl Slayton, and Leon Slayton.

Survivors include his wife, Callie Marie Hunter Slayton; son, Harold Thomas “Tommy” Slayton; daughter, Tammy M. Slayton Barr Shafer, and husband, Stanley R. Shafer; Brothers, Ray Haggard and Mickey Haggard; sisters, Darlene Haggard Rieger, Lynn Haggard Nelson, and Amy Haggard Whitlock; grandchildren, Brandi Barr, Tyler Barr, Lacey Barr, Brittany Slayton, Dylan Bryson, Cody Slayton, Kelby Slayton, and Callie C.  Mr. Ricky Glenn Canada, age 58, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, April 29 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Canada was born June 10, 1955 in Trion, GA, the son of Maggie Lee Pearsey Canada, and the late Auburn Lee Canada. Mr. Canada was formerly employed with Mohawk Industries. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Canada coached recreational sports for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Trish” Canada; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Canada Smith and Scotty Smith; mother, Maggie Lee Canada; sisters, and husband, Diane and Paul Reynolds, Nancy Burkhead; brothers and wives, Gary and Janeen Hartline Canada, Timothy and Karen Canada, Jerry and Karen Jennings Canada; grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Hutchins, Gabriel and Aidan McGuire, Braxton and Gracyn Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Lyerly Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Berry officiating. Active pallbearers will be Michael Reynolds, Craig Canada, William Burkhead, Kyle Canada, Patrick Canada, Chad Leeper, Travis Leeper, and Whitaker Fordham. MR. TOLLIE FAY HURLEY, prominent Summerville, Georgia businessman and chairman of Southeast First National Bank passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014. 
Mr. Hurley was born February 21, 1934 in Summerville, Georgia to the late Tollie Ross Hurley and Anna Elsberry Hurley. He was a 1953 graduate of Summerville High School where he served as captain of the Summerville High football team that broke a 13 year losing streak to Trion High. Mr. Hurley was in the grocery business of 44 years, owning stores, with his father and brother, in Summerville, Trion, and Fort Payne, Al. He served as Chairman and CEO of Hurley Food, Inc., served on the board of directors of Dixie Savings Stores, Inc. of Chattanooga, TN., a founding board member, in 1967, of First National Bank; also served as chairman of the board of the bank and chairman of the board of Summerville/Trion Bancshares, Inc. Mr. Hurley was a past member of Summerville/Trion Rotary Club and the City of Summerville Industrial Development Board. He also served on the board of Bank of Adairsvile, Inc., the People’s Bank of Crawfordville, GA., Adairsville Bancshares, Inc. and was one of three investors who purchased Bank of Lowes in Lowes, KY. and moved it to Rome, GA. under the name of Heritage First Bank. 
Surviving are His wife, of 61 years, Linda Sue Woods Hurley; daughter and son-in-law- Suzanne Hurley Bowman and Timothy E. Bowman; sons and daughter-in-law, Edward F. Hurley, William B. Hurley and Jamie Keeling Hurley; brother and sister-in-law Benjamin Gene Hurleyand Marceline Mobbs Hurley ; and ten grandchildren-Alexandria Dawes Hurley, Katherine Cutler Hurley, Madeline Grace Hurley, William Evan Bowman, Haley Bowman Barbaro, Jennifer Bowman Rogers, Kelsey Bowman Wiggins, Jacob E. Bowman, Kendall Keeling, and Kaitlyn Keeling.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 1st, at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, in Summerville, GA., at 2 PM with the funeral service to follow at 4 PM; interment will follow, for the Family, at the Summerville Cemetery.

Thomas Ronald Gayler, "Tommy" to all who knew and loved him,

died unexpectedly April 16, 2014. Tommy was born on February

26th, 1959 in Summerville, Ga. He was living in Cedar Bluff, AL at

Weiss Lake.

Tommy leaves behind his wife Sharon, and son Matt, both of Cedar

Bluff, AL, his mother Magge and Brother, Randy Gayler, both of

Summerville, Ga, Uncle Marvin Jones, Aunt Margaret Henderson and

numerous cousins. Also friends, Milford, Beth, Larry, Jessica, Adam,

Louis Aubrey Cash and Gladys Key Cash.  She was retired from Mohawk Industries.
She was a member of Mentone Community Church.  Other than her parents, Mrs.
Lyday was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Taylor Lyday.
 
Mrs. Lyday is survived by a daughter, Judy Lyday; sisters, Elizabeth Joyce Langston,
Clara Annette Bozeman, and Martha Hulgan.
