Mrs. Pauline J. Grannie Adams Obit (EP)

Pauline J. (Grannie) Adams, 85, Ridge Street, Trion, died August 21, 2012 at her residence on Tuesday.

Mrs. Adams was born October 20, 1926, the daughter of the late Edwin E. and Virgie Lee Jackson and was preceded in death by her husband Nipp S. Adams, one son-in-law, Melvin L. Adams, and one great-grandchild, Ashley Nicole Wright.  She was a retiree of Mount Vernon Mills.  Mrs. Adams was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eudene Mann, and Anna Lee and George Baird; one brother and one sister-in-law, Earl and Betty Jackson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Raymond and Wanda Murphy and Don and Juanita Henderson, two sons and daughters-in-law Terry S. and Lucy Adams and John B. and Georgia Mae Adams; seven granddaughters; five grandsons-in-law, Dickie and Cindy Anderson, Alan and Gwenette Powell, Preston and Paula Stephenson, Philip and Angie Wells, Travis and Barda Swinford, Cheryl and Barry Kauffman, and Beth Henderson; six grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Robert Adams, Jonathan Henderson, Mark Spencer Henderson, Ray Murphy, Phaisit Kimakom, and Randy and Misty Adams.

Surviving are nine great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons-in-law, Mickey and Stephanie Floyd, Jeremy and Ginger Overby, Christina Powell, Tiffany Wright, Brittany Wright, Kylie Swinford, Hailey Adams, Ryleigh Ivers and Christian Wells; six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter-in-law, Jeremy and Megan Anderson, Cody Siffles, Matthew Adams, Nathan and Caleb Kauffman, and Trevor Swinford.  One great- great-granddaughter, Jordon Floyd, and seven great-great-grandsons, Tony Floyd, Nathan and Braden Willingham, Layton and Jackson Overby, and Ryan and Brantley Anderson; and several nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday from the chapel of Erwin-Pettit Funeral Home with the Rev. Art Graves officiating.  Interment was in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams will lie-in-state Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers were Robert Adams, Jonathan Henderson, Mark Henderson, Philip Wells, Jeremy Anderson, Preston Stephenson, Alan Powell and Travis Swinford.

MRS. MARY HELEN DAVIS, age 82, of Highland Avenue-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, August 2, 2012, in a Rome hospital. A native of Chickmauga, Georgia, She was born to the late Robert D. and Alma Lively Browning on July 13, 1930. Mrs. Davis was a member of Ridgedale Unity Church of God and retired from the creeling department of Mohawk Mills. Surviving are son & daughter-in-law-Danny R. & Sally Davis of Summerville; grandsons-Michael & Ragon Crabtree of Rome, Jimbo & Gina Crabtree and Stacy & Crystal Crabtree all of Summerville; eight Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22nd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. MRS. DORIS ANN WOOTEN, age 72, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Monday, August 20, 2012, in a Marietta health care. She was born in Summerville, Georgia to the late Nathan Turner and Minnie Bailey Brown on February 14, 1940. Mrs. Wooten was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband the late Dan Wayne Wooten on May 18, 2006. Surviving are her daughter-Connie Renee Wooten of Marietta; sister-Juanita Reynolds of Summerville; brother-Bobby Brown of Cloudland; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21st, at 1:00 P.M. from Graveside in Summerville Cemetery with Rev. Joel Smith and Gregg Kortman officiating. Mr. Edward Eugene Scoggins Obit (M)

Mr. Edward Eugene Scoggins, age 74, of Summerville, GA died Monday,
August 20, 2012 at his residence.
 
Mr. Scoggins was born July 11, 1938 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late
Benjamin Delaney Scoggins and Rozell Maxey Scoggins.  Mr. Scoggins was
a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Chattooga County Saddle Club .
He was retired from Local 0225, where he worked as a carpenter.  Other than
his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Johnnie Roper
Scoggins; and sisters, Blanche Bean, Nona Maxwell, Ruby Brewster, and
Carrie Morrow; and a son-in-law, Donnie Milam.
 
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Kerri Scoggins,
Tim and Naomi Scoggins; daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Milam,
Sheila and Harvey D. Duncan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donny and
Eula Belle Scoggins, Johnny and Eleanor Scoggins; 11 Grandchildren;
10 Great Grandchildren; special friend, Bill Broyles; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m.  Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at
Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating.  Burial will
follow at Subligna Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Ben Duncan, Derek

She was born on February 16, 1972 to Richard and Sammye Smallan Brock who survive. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Cecil Brock, H. M. Smallan and Louise Smallan. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Trion First Baptist Church, a clinical nurse and a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are husband-Rusty Tucker; daughter-Skylar Tucker; step son-Drew Tucker; parents-Richard and Sammye Brock; paternal grandmother-Kathryn Brock all of Trion. Mrs. Marsha Lin Kessler, age 50, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Kessler was born February 9, 1962 in Annapolis, Maryland, the daughter of the late John Glendon Cordle, Sr. and Irene Virginia Johnson Cordle. She was Employed at LaFayette Health Care. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Lamar Cordle.

Mrs. Kessler is survived by a son, Tony McAllister; daughters, Angela Summerlin, and husband, George Robert Summerlin, Jr. and Erica McAllister; brothers, John Cordle, Jr., Lester Cordle, Ronnie Cordle, and Don Cordle; grandchildren, Austin McAllister, Tyshaun Summerlin, Darren Summerlin, Karina Summerlin, Melanae McAllister, and Cierra Cherry; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Clifford David Mountain, age 83, of Cloudland, GA died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Mountain was born December 19, 1928 in Whiteside, TN, the son of the late Ollie David Mountain and Mae Reno Goddard Blalock. He was retired from Roper Corporation. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Mountain.

Mr. Mountain is survived by a son, Phillip Mountain; daughters, Glenna Faye Ballinger and Jeannie Wilson; 6 Grandchildren; and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Ami Cemetery, with Rev. Jack Green officiating.
