Infant Easton Barrett Morris Obit (M)

Master Easton Barrett Morris, infant son of Ashley Danielle Little Morris and Trystan Craig Morris died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Northside Hospital.

Other than his parents, he is survived by Grandparents, Cynthia Morris and Darrell and Sandy Wheat; Great-Grandparents, J. V. and Betty Morris, Walton and Judy Hughes; Great-Great Grandparents Vertie Morris and Ollie Ashley; Aunt, Abbigail Wheat; Uncle, Keith Morris; Great Aunt, Susan Hamby; and Great Uncles, Joey Hughes, Vic Morris, and Lee Hamby.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 22, 2012 from the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Perennial Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Sanford and Nathan Thompson.

Master Morris will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening.

Mrs. Dorothy Nell Wilson Obit (EP)

Dorothy Nell Wilson, age 79 of Trion,GA passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Wilson was born July 8, 1933 in Gaylesville, AL.  She was retired from Mohawk Industries and was Baptist by faith.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Herman D. Wilson; father and mother, Neely and Willie Mae Floyd Sparks; son-in-law, Alton Ponder; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by daughters, Teresa Ponder of Lyerly, GA and Sheila Hill of Summerville, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Wanda Wilson of Summerville, GA and Lenny Wilson of Stone Mountain, GA; former husband, Archie Sibert of Trion, Ga; grandchildren, Jamey Hill, Joey Boyd, Heather Lindsey, Lauren Latta, Ryan Wilson, and Sidni Vaughn; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral services will be on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Kelly and Rev. Tom Russell officiating and Lenny Wilson will do a eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery, Gaylesville, AL.

Mrs. Wilson will lie-in-state on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Wilson, Jason Vaughn, David Lindsey, Jimmy Scruggs, Jerry Sparks, and Jimmy Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Residents of Gold Leaf Apartments, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Grady Elbert Winters Obit (M)

Mr. Grady Elbert Winters, age 69, of Summerville, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Winters was born in Summerville, Georgia on May 17, 1943, son of the late Clarence and Annie Bell Fincher Winters. He was retired from Mohawk Industries and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Winters was preceded in death by a brother, James Winters.

Mr. Winters is survived by his wife of 27 years, Eva Nell Winters; daughter, Dena Winters; stepdaughters and their spouses, Judy and Sammy Tapp, Wanda and Leonard Elrod, Edna Hines and Patsy Hall; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Jeannie Winters; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Oliver Brown, Ruth Ellison and Lena Ingle; granddaughter, Lauren Winters; special Cousin, Johnny Edmondson; a number of step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Winters will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Deacon Glenn Wilbanks officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Edmondson, and grandsons, David-Ray Cordell, Travis Cordell, Mark Smith, Kolby Smith; Dusty Hines.

Mr. Franklin Ward Obit (ER)

MR. FRANKLIN WARD, age 87, of John Jones Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, in the local nursing home. He was born in Walker County Georgia on September 24, 1924, a son of the late Deed L. and Lillie Davis Ward. Mr. Ward was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church, a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army Paratrooper 82nd Airborn, and was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Alice Timmons Ward, daughter-Diane Lovelace, son-Gerald Ward, sister-Louise Vaughn, and brothers-Tony Ward, Edward Ward, and Bobby Ward.

Surviving are Step-sons: Mitchell &Teresa Hensley of Trion and John & Pam Hensley of Summerville; Four Grandchildren: Phyllis Bussey, Christy Dawson, Katrina Hensley, Tara Hensley-Evans; Brother: Johnny Ward; Ten Great-Grandchildren; Seven Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 20th, at 4:00 P. M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Shores and Rev. Tony Samples officiating, interment in West Hills Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Owens, Keith Henderson, Johnny Ward, Sr., Jamye Dawson, Reggie Ward and Gary Blackwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Staff of Oak View Nursing Home and Redmond EMS. Mrs. Patricia Ann Bullard, age 70, of Gaylesville, AL died Sunday, September
16, 2012 at Floyd Medical Center.
 
Mrs. Bullard was born September 29, 1941 in Trion, GA, the daughter of
the late Walter McNeese and Grace McWhorter McNeese.  She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills.  Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bullard; and brothers, Donald McNeese and Lamar
McNeese.
 
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry & Shirley Hatcher,
Donnie Hatcher, Donald and Angie Hatcher, James and Darlene Hatcher,
and Josh McCullough; daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Powell, Pam and
Dennis Parker, Patty Sumner, Diane & Larry Veatch and Kristy McCullough; brothers, Jerry McNeese, Leroy McNeese, David McNeese, and Lewayne McNeese; sisters, Faye Thigpen and Nancy Harris; 21 Grandchildren;  7 Great Grandchildren; and her best friend, Lucy, her dog.

Mrs. Linda Ruby Reece Obit (M)

Mrs. Linda Ruby Reece, age 65, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Kindred Hospital.

Mrs. Reece was born July 16, 1947 in Summerville, GA, the daughter of Margaret Moore Taylor Kinsey and the late Frank Taylor. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Reece is survived by her husband, John R. Reece, JR; son and daughter-in-law, John R. Reece, III and Cindy Reece; daughters and sons-in-law, Rochelle and Mark Trammell, and Carol and Billy Joe Stephenson; mother, Margaret Kinsey; sisters, Judy Boyd and Betty Sue Hughes; 9 Grandchildren; and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 atMason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Durdran officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gene Ledbetter Obit (Perry)

Mr. Gene Ledbetter, age 83 of Gaylesville, passed away Monday, September 17th at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, September 19th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cosby officiating; burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers include Trey Skelton, Tyler Lawson, Kevin Walker, Charles Crumbley, Roger Haggard and Tom Harton.

Survivors include his wife, Katie M. Thomas Ledbetter; daughters, Jill (Terry) Lawson of Gaylesville and Cindy (Herb) Skelton of Trion, GA; brother, Joe Ledbetter of Rome, GA; sisters, Evelyn Hughes and Ethel Pledger, both of Summerville, GA; grandchildren, Tera (Kevin) Walker, Trey (Ashleigh) Skelton and Tyler (Kathryn) Lawson; great grandchildren, Katie Rose, Eli and Nolan Walker, Joshua Lawson; several nieces & nephews. Mr. Ledbetter was a native of Dekalb County, the son of the late James David and Myrtle Mariah Rose Ledbetter and was a member of Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church. He was a retired building contractor and was owner of Weiss Lake Memorial Garden.

Mr. Leonard Avery – of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012.  He was retired from Mount Vernon Mills and was a member of West Fifth Street Church of Christ.  Survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced later by Willis Funderal Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.

Mr. David Howard Williams, age 58, of Gaylesville, AL died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Williams was born May 10, 1954 in Summerville, GA, the son of Lelia Joyce Rickett Williams and the late Tommy Anderson Williams. He was formerly employed with Mohawk. Other than his father, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Joe Williams.

Survivors include his mother, Lelia Williams, Summerville, GA; step-children, T. C. Miller and Misty Weaver; sisters, Joyce Smith, Summerville, GA and Janice Thompson, Trion, GA; niece, Anna Morrison; nephews, Nick Smith, Dustin Thompson, and Nathan Thompson.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Tuesday, September, 18, 2012 at Summerville Cemetery. Rev. Chris Holman will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Mike Short, Will Short, Eric Reynolds, Charlie Crabtree, T. C. Miller, Matt Veitch, Nick Smith, and Kevin Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and all personal friends.

Mrs. Cassie McNair Obit (M)

Mrs. Cassie Mae Brady McNair, age 85, of Summerville, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. McNair was born in Summerville, Georgia on September 21, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph Hickey and Parthenia Simmons Hickey. She was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ and prior to retirement, was employed in the Sampling Department of Bigelow-Sanford. Mrs. McNair was preceded in death by her first husband, John Terrell Brady; 2nd husband, Ted McNair; grandson, Wayne Brady; sisters, Frances Gilbreath and Mary Jean Hickey; and a brother, Jack Hickey.

Mrs. McNair is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Levon and Linda Brady of Summerville, Edward and Rhneda Brady of Trion, Terrell and Betty Brady of Summerville, and Phillip and Debbie Brady of Crestview, FL; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Brady Bowling and Dwight Bowling of Summerville, and Judy Brady Flowers and Tom Flowers of Vinton, VA; Brother, William “B” Hickey of Louisville, KY; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. McNair will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Minister Robbie Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyerly Cemetery.
