Miss Reba Joyce Ozment, age 61 died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.  She was born September 18, 1950 in Chattooga County.  The daughter of the late Joe Robert and Fannie Belle Ozment and a sister, Shirley Ozment.  She was employed by the Trion City Schools Cafeteria.

 She is survived by wonderful relatives and friends and a loving church family; all of whom look to a brighter day when they hope to be reunited with her. 

She was an active member of New Beginnings Baptist Church where she enjoyed taking part of many church activities.

Miss Ozment’s hobbies were trade day and auctions while visiting with friends and meeting new ones.  When they did meet her, she was like an old friend in the beginning.  As a young lady growing up she loved to go to wrestling matches with her family.  Miss Ozment just enjoyed life, laughter, and the company of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Beginnings Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Johnson and Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memorial Gardens.

Miss Ozment will lie-in-state Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m.  Miss Ozment will also lie-in-state at the New Beginnings Baptist cburch on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jim Powell, Michael Helms, Ray Henson, Chris Duncan, Andy Cash, Dwane Almond, Neil Shropshire, and Junior Bowman.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies of New Beginnings Baptist Church, Trion City School Cafeteria, and George Helms.

MR. JERRY N. PETTY, age 75, of Knollwood Circle-Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday (January 3, 2012) night in a Rome hospital. A self-employed brick mason, Mr. Petty was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 19, 1936, a son of the late Cornelius Nathan & Thelma Blanton Petty. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kaila Corbin. Mr. Petty is survived by his wife Tennie Romine Petty of Summerville, a daughter and son-in-law Cecelia and Daniel Ford of Trion; sons and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Shelley Petty of Trion, and Thomas Petty of Summerville; sister- Rachel Rosso of New Orleans, LA; Granddaughters- Katie Ford, Alissa Leonard, Amanda Ford, Analee Ford, Hope Womack and Latalia Busby; several Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Friday, January 6th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating, interment in Berryton Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Barry Wooten, Jackie Wooten, Daniel Ford, Wilton Snipes, Dougl Sluder, and Bill Sluder. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at the Funeral Home. Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Roberta Wofford, age 91, of Rome, GA, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at 5th Avenue Nursing Home.

Mrs. Wofford was born January 25, 1920 in Madison, GA, the daughter of the late Richard O. and Mary Benton Graham. She was retired from Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mill. Mrs. Wofford was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T. Wofford, and a son, Tommy Wofford.

Survivors include her sons, Steve Wofford, Richard Wofford, and Mike Wofford; grandchildren, Christy Windle, Ginger Wofford, and Cam Wofford; great- grandchildren, Asa Windle and Rese Wofford.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bryon Wofford, Greg Wofford, Asa Windle, Cam Wofford, Alfred Crabtree, Jim Hawkins, Bryon Robertson, and Clark Robertson.

Mrs. Wofford will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012.

Mr. James Leon Coley, 67 of 1996 Spring Creek Road, Summerville passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1944 in Floyd County son of the late T.J. & Mary Agnes Kilgore Coley. He was self employed, a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Armuchee Church of God.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Sue Teal Coley of Summerville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff & Marcy Coley & Scott & Amanda Coley all of Summerville; 4 grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Kadie Grace & Kasey Coley all of Summerville; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Izell & Rev. Ralph Goss officiating. The family will have a private interment service following the funeral.

Pallbearers are requested to meet at the Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and include the following, Tim Pickle, Warren Hall, Gordon Kinsey, Heath Moore, Michael Bean, Ted Edwards, Hubert Stanley & Bill Durham.

Mr. Coley will li-in-state this evening, Friday, at Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Doris Evelyn Estus Blevins 67 of LaFayette passed away Tuesday December 13th…She was preceded in death by her husband, James J.B.
