Mr. William Lamar Wright obit (M)

Mr. William Lamar Wright, age 48, of Ringgold, GA, passed away Friday September 30, 2011 in Hutcheson Medical Center.

 Mr. Wright was born August 2, 1963, in Ft. Oglethrope, GA, the son of the late Bud and Delta McGill Wright. He was a construction worker with Eslinger Construction Company. Survivors incude his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy & Carole Hosmer, Mike & Kathy Burnett, nieces and nephews, Christy, Michael, Lane, Jared and Courtney.

Memorial serivces will be held 1: 00 p.m Sunday October 2, 2011 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 until the service hour. Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. William Lamar Wright who died on friday.

Mrs. Beverly Gentry Hardin obit

 

Mrs. Beverly Gentry Hardin, age 41, of Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Beverly was born in Summerville, Georgia on June 1, 1970, daughter of Joyce Kirby Gentry and the late Ray “Dick“ Gentry. In addition to her father, Beverly was preceded in death by a great nephew, Evan Gentry. Beverly was a member of the West Summerville Baptist Church and was previously employed with Georgia Rug Mill.
Beverly is survived by her mother, Joyce Gentry, sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Laney, Judy and Danny Murdock, nieces, Holly Moore, Megan Seay, nephews, Garth Gentry, Derek Murdock, great nieces, Breanna Adams, Kaitlyn Adams, Jazlyn Mosley, companion, Dickie Buchanan and beloved pet “Nickels.”
Funeral Services for Beverly will be held Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Groce, Rex Laney, Paul Shaw, Mark Russell, Lawarence Alf Howell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Chattooga High School class of 1989.
Beverly will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 12 noon until the service hour.

Mr. James W.”Bud” Anderson obit

 

Mr. James W. “Bud“ Anderson, age 84, of Summeville, GA passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Anderson was born in Summerville, Georgia on July 25, 1927, son of the late Matthew Bence Anderson and Hattie Elizabeth Payton Anderson. Other than his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by sisters, Bessie Mann, Annie Woodall, Willie Sizemore, Mary Blalock, Betty Anderson and Sally Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a member of the West Berryton Faith Temple.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Kathleen Stone Anderson, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Tasha Anderson, daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Stewart, Judy and Ron Baldwin, brother, Bence Junior Anderson, grandchildren, Chris Millican, Cameron Anderson, Michael Baldwin, 7 Great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Anderson will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Mann officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyerly Cemetery.

Mrs. Eva Grace Norton Obit

Mrs. Eva Grace Norton, age 84 of Woods Road, Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Norton was born in LaFayette,GA on September 4, 1927.  She had been employed with Eagle Manufacturing and was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church where she had taught the Grace Bible Class for which the class was named after her.  Mrs. Norton passed away 33 years to the date of her husband’s passing.
   Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Ballenger Norton; father and mother, Luther Earl Anderson, Sr. and Paralee Akins Anderson; daughter, Eva Nell Woods; sisters, LaVera Pickle, Levicie  Anderson, Idell Howell, and Estelle Anderson; and brother, Luther Earl Anderson, Jr.
   Mrs. Norton is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Gwynne Ingle of Gaylesville, AL, Deneta and Randy Stallings of Armuchee, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Carol Norton of Atlanta, GA and Joe and Sherry Norton of Crossville, AL; son-in-law, Roy Woods of Summerville, GA; grandchildren, Mike and Gary Woods, Cindy Turpin, Cheryl Blair, Stephen, Stacy, and Chris Norton, Tracy Kight, Brandy McCool, Kristy Hammond, and Randall and Emily Stallings; 16 great-grandchildren; special niece and care-giver, Frances Keith; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. from the Dry Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating.  Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery.
   Mrs. Norton will lie-in-state, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Dry Valley Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
   Pallbearers will be Stephen Norton, Stacy Norton, Randall Stallings, Mike Woods, Gary Woods, and Chris Norton.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Grace Bible Class of the Dry Valley Baptist Church and Nurses and Staff of F Hall of Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Jessie Lee Harris Obit

Mrs. Jessie Lee Harris, age 77, of Trion, GA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Harris was born in Trion, Georgia on April 24, 1934, daughter of the late Geoffrey C. Hayes and Minnie Mae Evans Hayes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Hayes, Ernest “Bud“ Hayes, sisters, Annie Ruth Pettyjohn, Lucille Henderson, grandson, Shawn Harris and granddaughter, Carrie Dobson. Mrs. Harris contributed articles to the Trion Facts “Good News“, was a member of the Quarter Century Club and the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center.
Mrs. Harris is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky & Sonia Harris, daughter and son-in-law, Wanda & Ronnie Patterson, brothers, Johnny Hayes, Roger Hayes, sister, DeAlvere Owens, grandchildren, Joseph & Becky Patterson, Faedra R. & Jeremy Rogers, Benjamin N. Patterson, Andrew K. & Jennifer Patterson, Casey & Leanna Dobson, 12 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Miss Mildred Faye Bramlett Obit

Miss Mildred Faye Bramlett, age 76, of Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.

Miss Bramlett was born in Trion, Georgia on January 26, 1935, daughter of the late James Calvin Bramlett and Bertha Mae Crider Bramlett. Other than her parents, Miss Bramlett was preceded in death by a brother, James Jerry Bramlett. Miss Bramlett was a member of the Perennial Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Miss Bramlett is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Carl Brown, Cartersville, GA, Zula Ellis, Summerville, GA, a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stephen Luther “Steve“ Middleton, age 54, of Summeville, GA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Middleton was born in Summerville, Georgia on April 17, 1957,
son of Ruby Middleton and the late Homer Middleton. Other than his father, Mr. Middleton was preceded in death by a brother, Lamar Middleton. Mr. Middleton was employed with Shaw and attended the Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Middleton is survived by his wife, Teresa Middleton, sons William Middleton, Matthew Middleton, daughters, Kimberly Parry, Sabrina Middleton, mother, Ruby Middleton, brothers, Thomas Middleton, Mike Middleton, grandchildren, Chloe Middleton, Caroline Parry and Lillian Parry, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Ina Jennie Ray Obit

Mrs. Ina Jennie Ray, age 85, of Resaca, GA, passed away Thursday September 22, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Ray was born March 1, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio, She was a Book Keeper for Chitwood Rug, and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her brothers, Chester Baer, George Baer, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday September 24, 2011 from the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Bret Yaeger and Rev. David Ray officiating with interment in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Mrs. Shirley Ann Hurley Petitt Obit

Mrs. Shirley Ann Hurley Petitt, age 75 of Highway 27 Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Redmond Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Petitt was born August 29, 1936 in Summerville, GA.  She was employed for 34 years with the Chattooga County School System and was  a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church.
  Mrs. Petitt was preceded in death by husband, J. W. "Bob" Petitt, father and mother, Austin and Nora Mitchell Hurley; brothers and sisters-in-law, J. C. and Doris Hurley and Ernest "Lard" and Dot Hurley.
   Mrs. Petitt is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Jimmy Lenderman of Summerville, Ga; and son, Chris Petitt of Summerville, GA.  7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Pennville First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Pledger and Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating.  Interment will be in the Perennial Springs Cemetery. Summerville, GA.

Mr. Ludie Crosby Williamson

Mr. Ludie Crosby Williamson, age 88, of Summerville, GA died Monday, September 19, 2011 at
LaFayette Health Care.
Mr. Williamson was born September 8, 1923 in Dawson , AL, the son of H. W. and Bertha
McGregor Williamson. He was retired from Eastern Airlines. Mr. Williamson was a veteran of
the United States Army and Air Force. He served in WWII, where he was the recipent of a
purple heart. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, James Marcus
Williamson, William Curtis Williamson, Troy Oscar Williamson, Raymond Luther Williamson;
sisters, Margaret Cora Lathem, Mary Lou Rice; daughter, Loretta Sanders; and a great-
grandson, Jake Riley Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Wilbanks Williamson; sons, Charles Ludie Williamson and
Kenneth Edward Mayo; daughter, Brenda Sue Blevins; sisters, Georgia Ruth Bennett, Ruby
Pauline Middleton, Frances Lee Hardy, Betty Ann Chamlee, Brenda Kay Brown, Linda Fay
Russell, ans Shirley Harrison; brothers, Billy Ray Williamson, Leon Williamson, Troy
Williamson, H W "Dub" Williamson, Roy Williamson, Robert Larry Williamson, and Jimmy
