Infant Sims Obituary

Little Jaylen Christine Sims, 2 month old daughter of Christopher Jay Sims and Lauren Marie Lewis, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.

Little Jaylen was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 22, 2009. She is survived by her Parents, Christopher Jay Sims and Lauren Marie Lewis; Grandparents, Shirley Warren, Jay Lewis, Nancy and Terry Sneed, Marcy and Gary Sims; Great Grandparents, Donna and Donald O’Clare, Mary Louise and James Lewis, Charles and Linda Sims, and Bonnie Woodfin; and a number of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Funeral Services for Little Jaylen will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. In the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Her Parents, Chris and Lauren will serve as pallbearers.

Little Jaylen will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

 

Williamson Obituary

Mr. Raymond Luther “Slim” Williamson, age 88 of Trion, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Williamson was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on May 4, 1921, son of the late William Hardaway Williamson and Bertha Aquilla McGregor Williamson. He was a member of the West Berryton Faith Temple and prior to retirement was self employed as a carpenter. Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters and three grandchildren.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Ida Beatrice Williamson of Trion; a son, Terry Raymond Williamson of Trion; a daughter, Opel Lorene Cordell of Summerville; 8 brothers, 7 sisters, 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Williamson will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Skates and Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy Ray, Ethen Ray, Michael Middleton, Kevin Middleton, Josh Bennett and Jimmy “Booger” Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Amedisys Hospice and all Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Williamson will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

 

Claude Dell Bullard,Jr.

Mr. Claude Dell Bullard, Jr., age 45, of Penn Street, Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at his residence.  Mr. Bullard was born October 29, 1963 in Trion, GA.  Dell loved playing music and teaching guitar, was a member of the Trion High School class of 1981 and a member of the Trion Heights Baptist Church. Dell was preceded in death by his father, Claude D. Bullard, Sr.; grandparents, Stumpy and Annie J. Scoggins; Dick and Alma Nelson; and brother-in-law, Vernon Hartline.Survivors include his mother, Freida Burton of Trion, GA; sister, Dina Hartline of Trion, GA; nephews, Eric Hartline of Athens, GA, Kelly Brown and Dallas Hartline of Trion, GA; niece and her husband, Dani and Ricky Tapp of Trion, GA; aunts, Judy and Lamar Smith of Trion, GA, Charlotte Hawkins, Geri Hughes and Brenda Veatch Haynes.A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 7 to 9pm.  A memorial service for Dell will be held Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 7pm at the Trion Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Mr. EWART WILSON, Sr., age 88, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday (May 12, 2009) in the local nursing home. A native of Randolph County, Alabama He was born to the late James Aubry Wilson, Sr. and Lena Ada Eva Gibson Wilson on May 4, 1921. Mr. Wilson moved to Chattooga County at a early age, was educated in the Chattooga County schools, and along with His wife, the late Virginia Newsome Wilson, owned and operated Wilson Motor Company, the former Chrysler/Dodge dealership in Summerville for many years. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ and was preceded in death by His Wife; Parents; a daughter the late Brenda Wilson; siblings-the late Waylon Wilson, the late Juanita Wilson, and the late James Aubry Wilson, Jr.

Surviving are daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Gary Duke; son & daughter-in-law, Quinton Wilson, Jr. & Susan Wilson all of Summerville; 4 sisters-Claudine Fowler of Hernando, FL., Maughee Evans of Trion, Montez Gladney and Joan Renslow both of Summerville; brothers-Charles B. Wilson and Lorenzo Wilson both of Summerville; grandchildren-Wendi Harkins, Shelley Wilson, Kyle Duke, Erin Shireman, Jeremiah Wilson; great grandchildren-Alex Wilson, Chandler Mitchell, Katherine Duke, Addyson Shireman, Adrianna Shireman, and Nicholas Duke; special cousin-Mike Dillard; several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

Freddy Dale Scroggins

 Mr. Freddy Dale Scroggins, age 32, of Summerville, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Erlanger Hospital.

Mr. Scroggins was born in Rome, Georgia on November 4, 1976, son of Roger Dale Scroggins and Brenda Gail Rich Peek. He was employed with Shaw Industries and also worked in the trucking industry. Mr. Scroggins was a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, J.C. Scroggins, and maternal grandmother, Lucille Rich.

Mr. Scroggins is survived by his daughters, Leah Jae Scroggins and Laci Cordle of Summerville; father, Roger Dale Scroggins, Summerville; mother and step-father, Brenda Gail and Rodney Peek, Summerville; maternal grandfather, J.T. Rich, Summerville; paternal grandmother, Mary Scroggins, Hermitage, Arkansas; brothers, Jonathan Scroggins, Marcus Lee, and Lucas Lee of Summerville; sister, Brandi Scherer, Summerville; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

MRS. HAZEL ELIZABETH BYARS VAUGHN, age 91, of Ridgewood Circle-Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday (May 13, 2009) in a Rome hospital. A native of Cherokee County, Alabama She was born to the late Paul F. and Sibil Preskitt Byars on November 25, 1917. She was a member of South Summerville Baptist Church, retired Justice of the Peace for Chattooga County, and was preceded in death by Her husband the late Henry Clarence Vaughn, Sr.; son, Henry Clarence Vaughn, Jr.; grandson, Scott Vaughn; great great grandson, Jordon Vaughn; sister, Haney Byars; brother, Robert L. Byars.

Surviving are daughters and husbands, Annette & Darrell Skinner, Sr. of Summerville, Sandra & Glen Weathington of Monroe, GA., Marsha & David Pritchett of Summerville; son and wife, William P. and Cindi Vaughn of Summerville; sister, Ophelia Hall of Tampa, FL.; brother, John David Byars of Warner Robbins; thirteen Grandchildren, twenty one Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Nieces and Nephews.
