Mr. James Clifford "Pete" Mitchell, JR, age 76, of Lyerly, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Mitchell was born April 24, 1932 in Cherokee County, AL, the son of Mildred Carr Mitchell and the late James Clifford Mitchell, Sr. He retired from Roper Corporation after years of service as Maintance Group Leader. Other than his father, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Kelley Mitchell; twin sons, Boyd C. Mitchell and Loyd D. Mitchell; and a sister, Nell Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Mitchell; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky & Tim Groce and Kathy & Danny Arp; step-son, Jim Cleveland; step-son & daughter-in-law, Jack & Joyce Cleveland; mother, Mildred Mitchell; sisters, Beatrice Brown, Sue Barosay, Ann Broyles, Naomi Barnes; grandchildren, Jason Mitchell and Matthew Groce; 4 Step Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; 1 Step Great Grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill (Needmore) Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Groce, Jason Mitchell, Joe Reed, Charles Noles, Bob Reynolds, and Raymond Reynolds.

Mr. Mitchell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p. m. Thursday, April 23, 2009. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Larry W. Arden, age 67 of Trion passed away Wednesday April 22, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Quincy Bo Arp, age 29, of Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at his residence.  Mr. Arp was born November 12, 1979, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA.  He was a student and Baptist by faith. Quincy is survived by his mothers and step-father, Frances and Jimmy Reynolds of Trion, GA; and Irene Timmons McDowell of  Summerville, GA; father, Bobby Arp of Summerville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Randy Smith of Summerville, GA; brother, Joseph Wilson of Summerville, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 3:00pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. MRS. EULON RATLIFF HUTCHINS, age 89, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday (April 16, 2009) morning in a Cedartown, Georgia health care. A lifetime resident of Chattooga County, Georgia, Mrs. Hutchins was born to the late William Otis Ratliff and Audrey Cox Ratliff on January 21, 1920. She was Baptist by Faith and was a retired Dietician. Mrs. Hutchins was preceded in death by her husband the late Johnny Hutchins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, at 3:30pm from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Evans and Rev. Rob Pierce officiating.  Interment in Summerville Cemetery.

 Mrs. Billie Jo Harkins, age 75, of Curran Street, Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, at her residence.  Mrs. Harkins was born December 29, 1933, in Dekalb County AL.  She was retired from the Roper Corporation and was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church.

 Mrs. Harkins was preceded in death by her father and mother, Willie and Dovie Hulgan Brewster; sister, Patty Sigler; brothers, James Brewster and Tom Henry Brewster.

 Mrs. Brewster is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Patsy Peek of Trion, GA; Michael and Cathy Stancil of Summerville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Randy Prince of Subligna; Lynn and Steve Evans of Summerville; Gayle and Mark Waycaster of Calhoun, GA; sisters, Gladys Hartline of Summerville, Bernice Morris of LaFayette, GA, Ollie Henderson of Rome, GA, Ruby Norris of Summerville, Louise Brewster of Summerville Bernice Morris of LaFayette, GA and Bobbie Boling of Rome, GA; brothers, Tommy Brewster of Summerville, Johnny Brewster of Summerville and Ronnie Brewster of Summerville; grandchildren, David Peek, Darlia Minard, Selena Crider, Michael Lee Stancil, Jana Evans, Eric Evans, William Stancil, Olivia Stancil and Cameron Waycaster;  9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survived.

Obituary for Mrs. Jessie Mae Kinsey  Mrs. Jessie Mae Kinsey, age 93, of 2233 Spring Creek Road, Trion, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at her residence.  Mrs. Kinsey was born September 1, 1915, in Catoosa County GA.  She was retired from Berryton Textile and a member of the EastTrion Church of God. Mrs. Kinsey was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon William Kinsey; father and mother, Ed and Samantha Jane Hammonds Peppers; son, Ronald Gordon Kinsey and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Kinsey is survived by her sons, William L. Kinsey of Summerville, GA;  Donald Kinsey of Trion, GA; Carl Edward Kinsey of Madison Heights, Michigan; James Kinsey of Fayetteville, GA; Tom Kinsey of Castle Rock, Washington, and Kenneth Lee Kinsey of Summerville, GA; her daughter, Iretta Joyce Garver of Sacramento, California; 4 daughters-in-law; 1 son-in-law; 23 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 17, 2009, at 1:00pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. MR. BRUCE ALLEN CRAIN, age 57, of Polk Street-Menlo, Georgia passed away Wednesday (April 15, 2009) in a Rome hospital following a brief illness. A lifetime resident of Chattooga County, He was born May 25, 1951. Mr. Crain was a member of Menlo First Baptist Church and was Head Sawer for J. P. Smith Lumber Company in Menlo, Georgia..

Surviving are His wife-Carolyn Simpson Crain; mother-Billie Brewer Crain of Summerville; father-Bert Crain of Menlo; daughters & sons-in-law-Tracy & Johnny Payton of Menlo, Rhonda & Barry Blalock of Mentone, AL.; son & daughter-in-law-Kevin & Angie Crain of Menlo; sister-Brenda Hammitt of Summerville; brother-Doug Crain of Gaylesville, AL.; grandchildren-Lindsey Little, Jordon Little, Caleb Payton, Conner Payton, Erica Blalock, Dustin Blalock, and Braden Crain; nieces, nephews; and special friends, Gary and Trina Howell of Summerville.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1:00pm  from the J.D.Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Howell and Joseph Bain officiating, interment in Alpine Cemetary.  Active pallbearers:  Jon Bain, Kevin Smith, Dennis Tucker, Greg Martin, Rick Walker, Steve Tate, David Gifford and Marty Johnson.
