Mrs. Dorothy M. (Dot) Mundy age 81 of Summerville passed away Saturday in a Ft. Oglethorpe health care. She was born in Copperhill, TN. on November 2nd, 1926 a daughter of the late John and Maude Picklesimer Stiles. Mrs. Mundy was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and was employed by the former McGinnis Drug Store of Summerville , she was preceded in death by her husband the late Homer Mundy and siblings J.B. Stiles, C.L. Stiles, Willis (shorty) Stiles and Namon Stiles..Surviving are daughters & spouses, Brenda and Frank Broome of Port Orange , Fl. and Deborah & Guy B. Caldwell of Charleston, SC, a Son & Spouse, Ricky and Betty Mundy of Trenton, Grandchildren, Stefanie Carny, Matthew Caldwell, Holy Webb, Heather South, six great Grandchildren, Brothers, Bill, Sterling, Hayden and Rodger Stiles, Sister Sandra Sue Brown all of Murphy N.C., Twenty nine nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Miss Day was born September 28, 1947 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Leroy and Mildred Thomas Day. She was a member of the Summerville 1st Methodist Church. Miss Day was a retired school teacher, having taught for 25 years in Chattooga County. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Georgia Education Association.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Jori Ann Day.
According to her wishes, Miss Day will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Leola G. Brown, age 81, of Summerville, GA. passed away Thursday morning in the local nursing home. A native of Savannah, Tennessee, she was born to the late Lawrence and Myrtle Walls Hill on December 26, 1926. Mrs. Brown was a member of The Ridgedale Unity Church of God, was retired from the sewing department of Best Mfg. Company, and was preceded in death by her husband J.T. Brown, a brother Paul Hill and sisters Viola Shubert, Dorothy Faye Davis, Christine Haggard, and Geraldine Taylor.
Surviving are daughters, Judy Tatum of Chatsworth and Peggy Rosson of Lyerly; sons Charles Brown of Summerville and Ricky Brown of Rome; sisters, Molly Jones of LaFayette and Naomi Ray of Chatsworth; brother Joe Hill of Summerville; thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Brother Junior Evans and Alton Stamey offiviating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be grandsons with great-grandchildren as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. King was born September 1, 1926 in Chavies, Alabama, the daughter of the late Horace and Jennie Wooten Tucker. She was a retired dental hygienist and a member of Trion First Baptist Church. Other than her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by a brother, Williard Tucker; and a sister, Geneva Conway.
Survivors include her husband, Elwin B. King; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Debbie King, LaFayette, GA; grandchildren, Libby King Worthington and Christopher Judson King.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p. m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Dr. Warren Moorhead officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Hennon King, Christopher King, Mikey Worthington, Dr. James Ware, Daniel Eleam, and Joseph Eleam. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gertrude Pledger Sunday School Class of Trion First Baptist Church.

Mr. James Bryant (Shorty) Bailey, age 91 of Scoggins Street in Summerville passed away Tuesday June 3 at his residnece. He was born February 23, 1917 in Athens, Alabama a son of the late Addison Delap Bailey. Mr. Bailey attended the Berryton Church of God, was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater and was a used car dealer. He was preceded in death by 11 sisters and brothers and a grandson the late Mark Price.
Surving are his wife Mary Evelyn Dover Bailey; son and daughter in law Jimmy and Linda Bailey of Lyerly; daughters Glenda Farrow, Jane and son in law Steve Love of Summerville, along with Patty and John Jennings of Gayelsville, AL. Marsha Noles of Lafayette, and Cheri Beene of Rome. Brother Mason Bailey of Lima, Ohio; 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; several neices and nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday June 5th at 11 AM from the JD Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Clergymen Tom Russell and Gleason Maxwell officiating. Interment will be in the Greenhill Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers: Kenny Koonce, Glenn Trapp, Kenneth Shirey, Danny Slover, Jody Thomas and Billy Wood. Mrs. Sandra Wright Hurley, age 60, of Gaylesville, AL., passed away Monday June 2, 2008, in Cherokee Medical Center.
Mrs. Hurley was born June 25, 1947, in Trion, GA., the daughter of Carmon E. and the late Marie Morgan Wright. She grew up in Menlo, graduated from Gaylesville High School, and married her husband of 41 years, Larry Hurley. She was a homemaker and a devout mother to sons, Dewayne and Casey. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and play guitar and keyboard. She loved to fish and was a good softball player as a team. She was a loving sister and daughter, always there to help out when needed. In her later years she doted on her grandsons, Logan & Lawson. She loved her daughters-in-law, Amy and Shasta. Sandra was a christian and a member of the Menlo Church of Christ, where she attended until her health failed. She will be missed dearly. We love you Sandra.

Mr. Lloyd "T-Model" Edward Wallin, age 71 of Gray Court, SC, formerly of Walker and Chattooga County, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at his residence. Mr Wallin was born December 17, 1936 in Walker County. G. He was a truck Driver with Builders Transport and was a member of the Bramlett Road United Methodist Church.
Mr. Wallin was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Ann Shepard Wallin; sister, Peggy Dover; and twin brother and sister, Jerry and Mary Wallin; and a son Greg Teague.
Mr. Wallin is survived by his wife, Shirley Deering Wallin of Gray Court, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Victor Jordan of Rossville; sons, Danny Wallin, Randy Wallin, and Tony Wallin all of LaFayette; and Stanley Teague of Gray Court,SC; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived.

Mr. Sentell was born May 23, 1941 in Cherokee County, AL, the son of the late Clarence and Grace Murphy Sentell. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ. He was retired from Inland Container. Mr. Sentell was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Sentell Comer.

Mr. Raymond Lloyd “Rick” Hudson, age 46, of Gaylesville, AL died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hudson was born February 14, 1962 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of Lloyd Hudson and Joyce Wilbank Hudson. He was employed at Best Manufacturing. Mr. Hudson was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, John David Hudson; grandparents, Pollard & Viola Hudson and Jay and Virgie Wilbanks.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Hudson; children, Johnny Ray Hudson and Emily Hudson, all of Gaylesville, AL; mother, Joyce Hudson, Menlo, GA; father, Lloyd Hudson, KY; sisters, Teri Hudson, Menlo, GA, Christine Perez, Chattanooga, TN, Peggy Wilson, PA, Deana Hudson, Lynn Hudson, and Jessica Hudson, all of KY; brothers, Lloyd Hudson, James Hudson, PA, George Hudson, FL, and Michael Hudson, KY.
