Hurley Obit

Mrs. Sandra Wright Hurley, age 60, of Gaylesville, AL., passed away Monday June 2, 2008, in Cherokee Medical Center.

Mrs. Hurley was born June 25, 1947, in Trion, GA., the daughter of Carmon E. and the late Marie Morgan Wright. She grew up in Menlo, graduated from Gaylesville High School, and married her husband of 41 years, Larry Hurley. She was a homemaker and a devout mother to sons, Dewayne and Casey. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and play guitar and keyboard. She loved to fish and was a good softball player as a team. She was a loving sister and daughter, always there to help out when needed. In her later years she doted on her grandsons, Logan & Lawson. She loved her daughters-in-law, Amy and Shasta. Sandra was a christian and a member of the Menlo Church of Christ, where she attended until her health failed. She will be missed dearly. We love you Sandra.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Hurley, sons & daughters-in-law, Dewayne & Shasta Hurley, Casey & Amy Hurley, of Broomtown, AL., father, Carmon E. Wrigh; brother, David Wright; Menlo, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Rita & Glen Ezell, Summerville, GA; grandchildren, Logan Hurley and Lawson Hurley.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p. m. (EST) Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Minister Berlin Murphy and Minister Robbie Eversole officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Wright, Phillip Wright, Malcom Wright, Tony Wright, Lee Cooper, T. C. Miller, Bryan Tallent, and Wayne Tallent. Wallin Obit

Mr. Lloyd "T-Model" Edward Wallin, age 71 of Gray Court, SC, formerly of Walker and Chattooga County, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at his residence. Mr Wallin was born December 17, 1936 in Walker County. G. He was a truck Driver with Builders Transport and was a member of the Bramlett Road United Methodist Church.

Mr. Wallin was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Ann Shepard Wallin; sister, Peggy Dover; and twin brother and sister, Jerry and Mary Wallin; and a son Greg Teague.

Mr. Wallin is survived by his wife, Shirley Deering Wallin of Gray Court, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Victor Jordan of Rossville; sons, Danny Wallin, Randy Wallin, and Tony Wallin all of LaFayette; and Stanley Teague of Gray Court,SC; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Brown of Bramlett Road United Methodist Church, Gray Court, SC officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.

Mr. Wallin will lie-in-state Friday, May 30, 2008 at Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will recieve friends from 6 to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Joe Caheely, Don Caheely, James Brown, J.C. Brown, Vernon Brown, and Wayne Brown. They are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Mr. Robert Monroe Sentell, age 67, of Gaylesville, AL died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Sentell was born May 23, 1941 in Cherokee County, AL, the son of the late Clarence and Grace Murphy Sentell. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ. He was retired from Inland Container. Mr. Sentell was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Sentell Comer.

Mr. Raymond Lloyd “Rick” Hudson, age 46, of Gaylesville, AL died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hudson was born February 14, 1962 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of Lloyd Hudson and Joyce Wilbank Hudson. He was employed at Best Manufacturing. Mr. Hudson was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, John David Hudson; grandparents, Pollard & Viola Hudson and Jay and Virgie Wilbanks.

Mr. Thomas Raymond Shadwrick, age 84, of Summerville died on Wednesday at the Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.

Mr. Shadwrick was born March 13, 1924 in Etowah County, Alabama the son of the late Joe Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Moses Shadwrick.

Mr. Shadwrick is survived by several Nieces, Nephews and special friends Michael and Faye Middleton.

Funeral Services will beheld at 2 PM Friday May 23, 2008 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating.  Burial wil follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Rosa Dell Boyd Floyd, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at her residence.

Mrs. Floyd was born July 31, 1923 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Robert H. & Alice Cash Boyd. She was retired from Best Manufacturing and was a member of the Berea Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Spot” Floyd; brothers, Walt Boyd, J. C. She was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Frank Elrod, sister, Ruby Tallent, brothers, James Hurley, Halbert Hurley, Raymond Hurley.

Mr. John Lewis Hawkins, age 60, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. from injuries sustained in a house fire on April 14, 2008.

Mr. Hawkins was born October 22, 1947 in Trion, GA, the son of the late J. D. and Margaret Hines Hawkins. He was employed with Reichhold Chemical. Mr. Hawkins was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Hawkins and a nephew, Chris Hawkins.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Ann Hawkins; daughters, Karen Ann Hawkins, Summerville, GA, Rachel Nicole Hunter, Trion, GA; step-daughter, Michelle Jackson, Teloga, GA, grandchildren, Spencer Johnson and Blake Johnson; step-grandchildren, Austin McConnell and C. J. Jackson; great grandchild, Mashalee Johnson.
