JUDGE JERRY WESTBROOK, prominent Chattooga County Attorney and Judge, passed away Saturday afternoon in a Rome hospital following an illness. Judge Westbrook was born in Trion, Georgia on June 22, 1938, a son of the late Wilmer Carlyle and Dorothy M. Colbert Westbrook. He was Chattooga County Juvenile Judge for forty nine plus years and a Master Wood Crafter. In addition to Parents, He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles David Westbrook and Donald Carlyle Westbrook.

Surviving are His wife, Judy Westbrook; sons, Parks Westbrook (Taner Ergin) and Jud Westbrook; grandchildren Trey Westbrook and Madelyn Westbrook.

Graveside and interment service will be held Thursday, June 5th, at 4:30 P.M. from West Hill Cemetery with Parks Westbrook and Albert Palmer officiating. Active Pallbearers, Kenneth Underwood, Tracy Maddux, Lanny Harrelson, Maxey Colbert, Tommy Taylor, and David Tomlin; Honorary Pallbearers, Jeff Ingram, Rip Keef, Tommy Keef, Clint Woodall, Walt Woodall, and Ralph Tomlin. Mrs. Alice Elaine Dotson, age 79, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, May 24, 2025, at her son’s residence in Trion, GA.

Mrs. Dotson was born September 7, 1945, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Everett William James and Dovie Mae Lipham James. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Roper Corporation. Mrs. Dotson loved her family and always treated everyone else’s children as if they were her own. Nothing pleased her more than planning and hosting family get-togethers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Tim Dotson; and her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Chapman.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy (Debbie) Tapp; Darian (Anna) Dotson; a brother, Everett (Gail) James; sister, Hattie Foster; and grandson, Jared William (Heather) Tapp.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dotson will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 31, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating. Mr. Matthew Wayne Reynolds, age 51, of Cedar Bluff, AL, died Friday, May 23, 2025, at Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee.

Mr. Reynolds was born March 4, 1974, in Atlanta, GA, son of the late Jimmy T. Harris and Charlotte Faye Smith Wallace. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and prior to his illness, was employed as a foreman with Century Fire Protection.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frankie Lynn Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife, Tabitha Reynolds; sons, Jared Reynolds, Austin Christensen; daughters, Abby Bryant, Breanna (Jacob) Huff, and Adriana (C.J.) Mrs. Fuller was born January 23, 1940, in Centre, AL, daughter of the late Elbert and Dorene Love Mitchell. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Bigelow-Sanford as well as C.V.S. Mrs. Fuller was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered with various activities assisting the Shriners.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Harold Fuller; and a brother, Marion Mitchell.

Survivors include her son, Larry Fuller; a sister, Jean Watwood; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Albert Gwynne “BBQ” Ingle, age 75, of Gaylesville, AL, died Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Cherokee Health and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Ingle was born October 27, 1949, in Trion, GA, son of the late Albert Reynolds “Cotton” Ingle and Grace Ingle. He attended Chesterfield Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with General Electric. He was also a self-employed farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Tracy Kight.

Mr. Gardner was a family man and his passion was watching his kids participate in all activities, and he was an avid supporter of Trion athletics.

Mrs. Pickle was born August 30, 1940, in Menlo, GA, daughter of the late George Alvin and Ruth Waltz Jackson. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed raising her 10 children. She was also a member of Chelsea Baptist Church. She had previously been employed with Harriett and Henderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry “Jack” Pickle, Sr.; a daughter, Karen Jeanette Pickle; sons Christopher Todd Pickle, Sr., Seth Pickle; sisters, Alice Stallings and Linda Craig; a brother, Franklin Jackson; grandson, William Tyler Pickle; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Turner.

Mr. Charles Sanford Allen, Jr age 88 of Summerville, GA passed away May 21, 2025 at a Rome, GA Hospital.

Mr. Allen was born December 30, 1936 in Menlo, GA to the late Charles S. Allen Sr. & Bertha DeBerry Allen. He was retired from both Summerville Cotton Mill and Mt. Vernon Mills.

Along with his parents he his preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hines Allen; son, Tony Allen; great-grandson, Tanner Nixon; and several siblings.

Survivors include his daughter, Norma (Clinton) Winters; granddaughter, Crystal (Mark) Nixon; great-grandsons, Anniston (Peyton) Mann, Gavin Mann, Blake (Chelsey) Mann, Branson Nixon; great-great grandsons, Sawyer Mann, Tate Lankford; sister Doris Maxey; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

MR. EVERETT WASDELL EVANS – AGE 82, – Of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was born on August 12, 1942 to the late John L. Evans and Lelia Finley Evans. Loved ones who preceded him are his two sons, Patrick Lebron Evans, Sr., Gerone Ladelle Evans, two brothers, Alvin Evans, and Lenton Evans. He was retired from Inland Mills for over thirty-eight years, and was a member of Finley Chapel Church.

Ms. Nancy Carol Lowry, age 83 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 at Oakview Health.

Ms. Lowry was born in Trion, Georgia on April 3, 1942, daughter of the late William Russell Lowry and Myrtis Josie Adams Lowry. Nancy was a member of the Midway Baptist Church. Nancy was loved by many. She was a very special, loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. All fell in love with her when they met her. In addition to her parents, Ms. Lowry was preceded in death by sisters, Lillie May “Jackie” Mills; Mary Jo Treadaway; Doris Jean Henderson; Betty Ann Tucker; brothers, Floyd Howell Lowry; Herman Lee Lowry. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakview Health for the loving care and kindness shown to Nancy.
