Mrs. Hazel Ruth Millican, Obit. (ER)

MRS. HAZEL RUTH MILLICAN, age 73, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016, in a Rome hospital.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Charles M. (Prucell) Wesson, Sr. and Jacqueline Kellett Wesson Stephens on November 19, 1943.  Mrs. Millican was a devout Christian, and loved to meet with her Christian friends.  She was retired office manager for Dr. Jeff Appelbaum; was preceded in death by Parents, Her husband, the late Charles Loyd Millican, nephews, the late Shawn Wesson, Robin Meadows, and Randy Meadows, and aunt, the late Chris Dersa.

        Surviving are daughter, Diane Millican (Mike) Woodall; grandchildren, Jamye Dawson, Josh Dawson, and Jason Dawson; Six Great Grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Meadows and Rosemary Johnson; brother, Charles Martin Wesson, Jr.; aunt, Frances Ledford; uncle, Paul Kellett; nieces, Renee Ware, Rhonda Lively, and Kim Kellett; nephews, Coleman Ledford, Davin Meadows, Ricky Johnson, Kyle Wesson, and Landon Wesson; twelve Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and numerous Friends.

        Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23rd, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Wright and Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Tony Smith, Wesley Brown, Jonathan Stout, John Ware, Zach Lively, and Micah Lively; Honorary Pallbearers the Chattooga County Emergency Response Team (CERT), Trion Chapter of Eastern Star, the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Mrs. Alice Ann Brooks Jones, age 73 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Jones was born in Summerville, Georgia on January 13, 1943, daughter of the late John Sidney Brooks and Olivia Rowls Brooks.  She was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church.  Mrs. Jones loved to dance and spend time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous husband, Fred Jones; son, Sidney Ponder; daughter, Debra Ponder; and two brothers, Charles Brooks and George Brooks.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lanell Ponder; stepchildren, Susan Jones, Pat Jones and Phil Jones; sister, Sylvia Johnson; grandchildren, Tyler Ponder, Dwight Ponder, Robin Gable, Barbie Gill, Dustin Ponder, and Lacey Timmons; step grandchildren, T.J. Rutledge and Natasha Rutledge; several great grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jones will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with her son, Robert Ponder and her grandson, Dwight Ponder, giving the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Lyerly Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Ponder, Tyler Ponder, Art Fontana, Dakota Livingston, Matthew Hall and Randy Rush.

Mrs. Mary Esther Nunn, age 78 of Trion, GA passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Pruitts Health Care @ Shepherd Hills in LaFayette, GA.  Mrs. Nunn was born

May 14, 1938 in Summerville, GA.  She was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church.  Mrs. Nunn loved keeping kids and also loved keeping the babies in the nursery at church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Scott Nunn and her father and mother, Alfred Collins Mount and Addie May Irene Bowers Mount.

     Mrs. Nunn is survived by her son and spouse, David and Lisa Nunn; her daughter, Marilyn Nunn; and uncle, Frank Bowers; cousins and nieces.

     Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday,

November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Petitt Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Dr. Warren Moorhead and Rev. Casey Bramlett officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

     Visitation will be on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Mr. Calvin Lee “Big CP” Parish, age 59, of Rome, GA, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Parish was born June 19, 1957, in Summerville, GA, son of the late L.E.  Parish and Phyllis Sneed Parish Eleam.  He was Baptist by faith and worked as a self-employed painter.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Jackson; brother-in-law, Randy Roberson; sister-in-law, Susan Parish; and a niece, Clarissa Jackson.
Mr. Parish is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Kelly Parish; a daughter, Crystal Parish; his mother, Phyllis Parish Eleam; brothers and sister-in-law, Lloyd Parish, Harold and Edna Parish; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cody Earl Seegar “CoCo”, age 28, of Trion, GA, died Friday, November 11, 2016.
Mr. Seegar was born December 21, 1987, in Troup County, GA, son of Wallace Earl Seegar and Christine Brown Shaw.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.  He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic with Local # 85 and painter with ProCoat Painting.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margie Whitley; and grandfathers, Roger Whitley and Leo Seegar.
Mr. Seegar is survived by his wife, Samantha Seegar; children, Levi Earl Seegar and Scarlet Grace Seegar; father, Wallace Earl Seegar; mother and step-father, Christine and Anthony Tracy Shaw; sister and brother-in-law, Amber and Damion Moore; and special uncles, Sammy Brown, James Brown, Nick Seegar, and Jessie Seegar.

Little Jameson Ray Croft-Bolton, infant son of Tabi  Croft and Carl Bolton passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at an Atlanta Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; James Bolton, Ollie Croft, Judy Mollock, and Billy Jackson.
Survivors include his parents, brother; Dakota Bolton, sisters; Makenzie Croft, Seirra Bolton, and Ashlyn (AJ) Bolton, grandparents; Angela and Darrell Croft, Linda Bolton, Gaynelle and Charlie Burke, and Archie Sibert, along with several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Mr. Alfred Lamar “Perk” Perkins, Obit. (C)

Mr. Alfred Lamar “Perk” Perkins, age 78, of the Pennville Community, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Perkins was born in Summerville, Georgia on September 3, 1938, son of the late Marvin Grady Perkins, Sr. and Daisy D. Wofford Perkins. He was a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. Perkins was veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. While enlisted in the Air Force, he was a member of the 604th Air Force Band. Following his military service, Mr. Perkins worked as an insurance agent, as well as a produce clerk for several grocery stores, most recently with the Piggly Wiggly in Armuchee. He was a member of the Welcome Hill Baptist Church, the 7 Romans, which later became the Gospel Brass, for more than 20 years; was a member of the Chattooga County Senior Center, and a past member of the Chattooga Masonic Lodge. Mr. Perkins also served as Choir Director for several area churches. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids, and playing pool at the Senior Center. In addition to his parents, Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Hall; a brother, Charles Perkins; sisters, Hellon Perkins and Bobbie Perkins; sisters-in-law, Violet Perkins and Anne Perkins; a brother-in-law, Randy Allen, a son-in-law, Stephen Hardaker; nephew, Christopher Allen and niece, Brenda Tudor.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Barbara Parker Perkins; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Steve Blevins, Faye and Terry Shores and Kaye and Lamar Hall; sister, Doris Allen; brothers and sister-in-law, Marvin G. Perkins, Jr. and George and Linda Perkins, Sr.; brother-in-law, Paul West; grandchildren, Corey (Hannah) Shores, Kayla Hall and Seth Hall; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.

Funeral Services for Mr. Perkins will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Welcome Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Shores, Rev. Owen “Bud” Davis, and Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force.

Pallbearers will be Steve Blevins, Lamar Hall, Corey Shores, Seth Hall, Jeff Blansit, Terry Hampton, Randy Staton, Terry West, Paul West, III, Marvin West, Ernie Perkins and Clay Parker. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of Welcome Hill Baptist Church and Members of the Chattooga County Senior Center.

Mr. Perkins will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. On Thursday, Mr. Perkins will be carried to the Welcome Hill Baptist Church where he will lie in state from 12:00 Noon until the funeral Hour.

Mrs. Wade was born November 6, 1926, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of Elgin and Layla Crisp Anderson.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Berea Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her husband; Norman F. Wade, brother; W.F Anderson, sister; Scottie JoAnn Robinson, grandchild; Brian Avery Tucker, and great grandchild; Ansley Jaye Randolph.

Mr. Dwight Douglas Arden, age 79, of Trion, GA passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Redmond Regional Medical center.
Mr. Arden was born February 10, 1937 to the late Mac and Julia Arden in Trion, GA. He was a veteran of the US Army, former Trion city council member, Boy Scout leader, and was awarded the Silver Beaver leadership award.
Along with his parents, Mr. Arden is preceded in death by Larry Arden, Mac Arden, Jr. Paul Arden, Charles Arden, Thelma Payton, Doris Fletcher, Edna Arden, and Phil Payton.
Mr. Arden is survived by his nieces; Kimberly Arden, Martha Mincy Stewart, Dawn Christopher, Paula Arden, Jeannie Brittain, Susan Fletcher England, nephew; Stephen and Mitzi Payton, sister-in-law; Margaret Arden, and brother-in-law Russell Payton.

Mr. Robert Bart Pas, JR, age 22, passed away Saturday November 12, 2016, at Erlanger Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Pas was born December 27, 1993, in Atlanta, GA, the son of Robert Bart Pas, and Pamela Ruth Dover Pas.  He was employed with Smith Iron Works in Atlanta, GA.
 
Survivors include  his daughter, Madilynn Pamela Pas, special friend and mother of his child,  Mckenzie Clutter,  uncles and aunts, Jimmy & Patty Evans, Corky & Teresa Lee, Brian & Keri Dover, Larry & Lisa Dover, Wayne & Cheryl Sneed, and a number of cousins.
