Mr. Frank Edward “Eddie” Jones, age 65 of Trion, GA, passed

 away Tuesday, February 4, 2016 at his residence.
 
Mr. Jones was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 25, 1948, 

son of the late James Monroe Jones and Lula Mae White 

Holt.  He was a member of the Harrell Street Church of

 God and prior to retirement, was employed as a truck driver. 

 Mr. Jones loved to work and in his spare time, loved to 

build scale model ships.  He will be fondly remembered 

for his sense of humor.
 
Mr. Jones is survived by his children, Shea and Ken Czernik 

of Grandbury, TX, Frankie Jones of Summerville, Robbie Jones 

of Demorest, GA, Mike and Toni Jones of Trion, and Greg and

 Tera Jones of Trion; brothers, Jimmy Jones, Bill Holt, Ricky Jones 

and Jonny Holt; sisters, Judy Johnston, and Nancy Payne;

 grandchildren, Cheryl Gentry, Tiffany Jones, Bobby Jones, 

Andrea Jones, Cody Bogle, Brandon Bogle, Darrian Jones,

 Dakota Jones, Jaelyn Edwards, Gavin Czernik, Alexis Czernik, 

and Toby Jones; great grandchildren, Elijah Gentry and 

Gabriel Thompson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral Services for Mr. Jones will be held Thursday, February 

6, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. in the Harrell Street Church of God with 

Rev. Kenny Payne and Rev. Freddie Bell officiating.  Private 

Interment will follow.
 
Pallbearers will be Chris Liles, Danny Hester, Jeremy Gentry,

 Zack Smith, Mike Jones, Bobby Jones and Cody Bogle.
 
Mr. Jones will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and

 the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 P.M.

MR. RICKEY LOUIS PEEK, age 61, of Sizemore Road-Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, in a Rome hospital. He was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama on December 4, 1952, a son  of the late Billie Brewster Peek. He was a member of Springcreek Baptist Church, and was retired from the finishing department of Mt. Vernon Mills. Mr. Peek was an avid music lover, singing and playing in numerous bands for most of his life. He was preceded in death by step father, the late Robert Stancil.

Surviving are wife-Patsy Peek; step mother-Linda Stancil; son-David (Sherri) Peek of Calhoun; grandson-Brett Peek; sisters-Darlene Henderson of Ft. Payne, AL., Jan (Randy) Prince and Lynn (Steve) Evans all of Summerville, Gayle (Mark) Waycaster of Calhoun; brother-Michael (Cathy) Stancil of Adairsville; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mrs. Bessie Irene Allen, age 90, of Summerville, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Allen was born in Gaylesville, Alabama on August 23, 1923, daughter of the late William Harbin Coker and Cora Kate Kennedy Coker. She was member of the Summerville First United Methodist Church, and the Quarter Century Club. Mrs. Allen was an avid reader and was employed with Riegel/Mt. Vernon Mills for over 49 years, spending most of that time as a secretary in the bleaching department of the finishing plant. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, “Jim Allen”; sisters, Ophelia Chestnut, Louise Pearce, Pauline Hix, and Kathryn Payne; brothers, Fred Coker and Kennedy Coker.

Mrs. Allen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Scott Bell of Summerville; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Nancy Allen of Casselberry, FL and Neal Fulton of Calhoun, GA; daughter-in-law, Cindy Fulton of Trion; brother, Billy Coker of Rome; Long-time Friend, Iris Plummer; grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Dee Fulton, Allyson Smith, Clint Bell, Scott Fulton, and Stephanie Fulton Cromer (Cody); great grandchildren, Jackson Herod and CJ Cromer; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Green Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Waydell Howell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Cordell, Dee Fulton, Scott Fulton, Clint Bell, Ryan Smith and Cody Cromer.

According to the wishes of Mrs. Allen, there will be no visitation.

The family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent, however those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Horizon Baptist Fellowship or to the Chattooga County Library.

MRS. BETTY DIANE LEONARD, age 58, of Shinbone Valley Road-Menlo, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014, in a Rome hospital. Born in Trion, Georgia, She was a daughter of the late John C. Bandy and Betty June Green Bandy Pope who survives. She was a member of Chelsea Baptist Church and employed in the knitting department of Best Mfg. Company. Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by a brother, the late John Duel Bandy.

Surviving are husband-Jimmy Leonard; mother and step father-Betty and Wayne Pope of Menlo; daughter-Connie Geimer of Centre, AL.; son-Jams Michael Leonard of Menlo; SPECIAL FRIEND-BECKY GABLE; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mr. David Dwight Stancil, 68, of Douglasville, GA died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in Austell, GA.

Mr. Stancil was born August 18, 1945 in Rhinehart, AL, the son of the late Chester Lee Stancil and Flora Bradley Stancil. He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. Mr. Stancil was retired from Anasteel, where he was employed as a truck drive. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Donald Stancil and Lisa Stancil; six brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Stancil; daughter and son-in-law, Melisa Singley and Dwayne Hubbs; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Annette Stancil, Wayne and Shirley Stancil, and Shane Singley; 8 Grandchildren; and 4 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Summy and Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Needmore Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Travis Stancil, Michael Lee Stancil, Michael Singley, Marshall Singley, Joseph Maney, and Billy Piepmeier. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon and Shirley Casteel, and Billy and Mary Murphy.

Mr. Stancil will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday.

MRS. FREDDIE MAE ALLEN KIRBY – AGE 69, Of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Oak View Nursing Home with her family at her bedside. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her son, James Edward Kirby and parents,

She is survived by devoted husband, James H. Kirby, Jr.; two daughters, Cynthia (Brannon) Harris and Latonia (Coby) Smith; two sons, Walter (Tina) Kirby and Michael Kirby; five grandchildren, Latasha Kirby, Codie Kirby, Marquez Kirby, Azariah Smith, Aaliyah Smith; one great grandchild, Semaj Kirby; one sister, Nancy (Gene) Kirby; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Pastor George Beavers and other ministers officiating. MRS. HELEN C. HUDSON, age 89, of Rome, Georgia former longtime resident of Summerville, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, in a Rome health care. She was born on December 16, 1924 to the late William Richard and Rosa Dell Estes Chappelear. Mrs. Hudson was a member and former pianist, for many years, of Summerville First Baptist Church; she was retired from the Georgia Rug Mill and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Wilburn Hudson, sister, the late Mary Dell Welch, and Patricia  Ann Holiday and brother, the late Henry Chappelear.

Surviving are daughter-Cheryl Allen of Rome; sons-Kelly Hudson of Cedar Bluff, AL., and Richard Hudson of California; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31st, at 11:30 A.M. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Rev. Doyle Waters officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active Pallbearers will be Family members; Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Williams, O.G. Moorehead, Jim Meredith, Harmon Petitt, Billy Petitt, and Jim Parker. The Family will receive friends at the church, Friday from 10 A.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the Family suggest contributions be made to the Summerville First Baptist Church.
