Mr. Leon Teems Obit (M)

Mr. Leon Teems, age 76, of Summerville, GA died Monday, January 14, 2013 at

Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Mr. Teems was born May 26, 1936 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late

Buster and Mary Elem Teems.  He was retired from Miller Lumber Company.

Mr. Teems was a member of the American Legion.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Korea.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Carole Dewey Teems; a daughter, Michele Wartzfield; grandchildren, Myles Teems and Dustin Teems Wood; brother,  Junior Teems; sisters, Jewell Roach, Margaret Corbin, Frances Brooks, and Mildred Nichols.

 

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Donna Teems,

Gary and Kay Teems, Joe Slater, Jerry Slater, Jimmy Slater, and Ricky Slater;

daughters, Melanie Teems and Cheryl Conner; brothers, Richard Teems,

Ray Teems, Ralph Teems, Jerry Teems, and Rickey Teems; sisters, Betty

Ramey, Peggy Money, Susan Dawson, and Carolyn Evitt; a number of

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013

at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Teems and Pastor Josh Perry officiating  Burial will follow in Silver Hill Church Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be John Lowrey, Kyle Parker, Jason Buffington, Mark Storey, Mark Brown,

Randy Swanson, Thomas Edwards, and Greg Carter.  Honorary pallbearers

will be all personal friends.

 

Mr. Teems will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will

receive friends from 1:00 p. m. until the service  hour on Wednesday.

Mrs. Leona Lawson Obit (ER)

MRS. LEONA LAWSON, age 91, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, in the local nursing home. A native of LaGrange, Georgia, She was born to the late Luther Cleveland and Ola McCormick Webb on December 31, 1921. Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, the late Lewis Levi Lawson, a son Jessie Shuman, Jr., and sisters, Frances Abercrombie and Dorothy Allmon died previously.

Surviving are daughter-Lillian Daniel of Trion; son-William Thomas Shuman of Gainesville; brother-in-law-Leonard Allmon of Lindale; grandchildren-Cindy Clark, Rhonda Stowe, Lisa Parks, Tommy Shuman, Jonathan Shuman, & Jessie Lamar Shuman; nine Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 15th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Sanford Deberry officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Oak View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The Family will receive friends @ the Funeral Home Tuesday from noon until the hour of service.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Langston Obit (ER)

MRS. PATRICIA ANN LANGSTON, age 65, of Alabama Avenue-Cloudland, Georgia passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness. A native Chattooga County, Georgia, She was born to the late Kirby Smith and Jimmie Sue Green Smith who survives. Mrs. Langston was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Allen Langston; Daughters Josie Burrage and Cindy Tishaw; Great Granddaughter Alyssa Freeman; Brother Kenneth Smith.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law-Margie & Don Dabney and April & Stephen Fowler; son and daughter-in-law Scotty & Misty Langston; mother-Jimmie Sue Smith; sister-Peggy Baty; brother and sister-in-law Tony & Gloria Smith all of Cloudland; Nine Grandchildren; Three Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:30 PM from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wright officiating, interment in AMI Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Allen Langston, Chris Fowler, Jason Tishaw, Paul Deering, Tristan Smith, Willis Gallaway and Phil Green. Honorary Pallbearers Cloudland Community. Mrs. Maggie Lou Brown Sprayberry Obit (M)

Mrs. Maggie Lou Brown Sprayberry, age 85, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Saturday January 12, 2013, in Calhoun Health Care Center.

Mrs. Sprayberry was born March 30, 1927, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late Olin and Ruby Spain Brown.  She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills, and preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard Sprayberry, special nephews and niece, Bobby and Karen Brown, William and Melissa Brown, Paula and Richie Messina, and several other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday January 14, 2013, from the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Don Knowles officiating with interment in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be nephews.

 Mrs. Sprayberry will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday January 13, 2013.

 

Mrs. Ida Beatrice Williamson obit (M)

Mrs. Ida Beatrice Williamson, age 89, of Fyffe, AL died Tuesday, January 8,
2013 at her residence.
 
Mrs. Williamson was born July 29, 1923 in Fort Payne, AL, the daughter of the
late Dick Logan Childers and Effie Marshall Childers. She was retired from
Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Mrs. Williamson attended 2nd
Baptist Church of Gaylesville and she was a member of Faith Temple.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther
“Slim” Williamson; sisters, Nell Cook and Adessa Hensley; and brothers,
Donald Childres and Alton “Sambo” Childers.  Mrs. Williamson loved
cooking, sewing, working outdoors and gardening.
 
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lorene and Harold Cordell;
son, Terry Raymond Williamson; honorary son, Bobby Shaver; 5 Grandchildren;
14 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and
Nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. (EST) Friday, January 11, 2013 at
Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Bullard and Rev. Mickey
Skates officiating.  Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers
will be Andy Ray, Marcus Shell, Ethan Ray, Ricky Bullard, Kelsey Ray,
and Terry Williamson.  Honorary pallbearer is Troy Bullard.

Ms. Agnes Ardel Bryan obit (M)

Ms. Agnes Ardel Bryan, age 49, of Summerville, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Ms. Bryan was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 21, 1963.  She was of the Baptist Faith and had previously worked with J-Bar Manufacturing. She is survived by her mother Shirley Bryan,

 children, Michael Leon Bryan, Melissa

Olivia Bryan, and Lisa Anna Bryan; brothers, Alvin Bryan, and William Bryan, Jr.; sisters, Wanda Darlene Cosper, Mary Jones, Marie Sheffield, Yvonne Roberts and Cynthia Pinkerman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services for Ms. Bryan will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Johnson and Rev. Terry Shores officiating.  Interment will follow in the Silver Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

MR. MASON ONEAL GREENE, age 12, of Packer Dairy Road Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday January 4, 2013, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Murray County. Born on March 9, 2000, he was the son of Marshall and Susan Byars Green, also of Summerville.

Survivors include his parents, Grandmother Retha Pare of Florence, South Carolina and Step Grandmother Kathy Byars of Rome.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11th, at 12:00 Noon from the Trinity Baptist Church, Calhoun, GA., with Pastors’ Larry Scoggins and Billy Murdock officiating, interment in Rome Memorial Park, Rome, GA.  Pallbearers, Jeff Norton, Brad Harris, Rob Byars, Austin Kirby, Joshua Byars, Jeremy Mitchell, and Herbert Dodd.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 10th, from 6 until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

MR. ZACHARY CAMDEN GREENE, age 6, of Packer Dairy Road Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday January 4, 2013, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Murray County. Born on February 24, 2006, he was the son of Marshall and Susan Byars Green, also of Summerville.

Mrs. Lillie Margie Smith Obit (M)

Mrs. Lillie Margie Smith, age 94, of Trion, GA died Monday,

January 7, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Mrs. Smith was born June 27, 1918 in Wilmay, AL, the daughter

of the late Andrew Jackson Whitfield and Mattie Mooneyham

Whitfield.  She was a homemaker and was a member of New

Generation Christian Church of God.  Other than her parents, she

was preceded in death by her husband,  J D Smith; daughters,

Billie Joyce Oates and Deborah Marie Baxter; sons, Jasper

Howard Smith and Jerry Michael Smith.

 

Survivors include sons, Bobby Wayne Smith, Sammy Larry

Smith, and Ricky Nelson Smith; daughters, Edna Margene Reynolds,

Lana Faye White, Melanie Elaine Sparks, and Regina Ann Rape;

brother, Edgar Whitfield; 65 Grandchildren; 110 Great Grandchildren; and several Great Great Grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, January

10, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Glenn

and Rev. Danny Harkins officiating. Burial will follow in West

Hill Cemetery.   Active pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary

pallbearers will be all members of New Generation Christian Church of God.

Mr. Aaron Michael Dooley

 

MR. AARON MICHAEL DOOLEY, age 30, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday (January 4, 2013) afternoon from injuries received in an automobile accident near LaFayette, Georgia.  Born in Rome, Georgia on November 15, 1982,  he was an electrician.
Surviving are daughter-Kenzlee Dooley; step son-Jacob Whitaker both of Summerville; mother-Robbie Baker Dooley of Summerville; father-Tony Dooley of Noble, GA.; maternal grandmother-Imojean White of Summerville; sisters-Shannon Baker of Holland, GA. and Desiree Lorene Dooley of Summerville; brothers-Jason (Teresa) Baker of Cedartown and Nicholus (Amanda)  Dooley of Summerville; special friend Elizabeth Baker, several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 7th, at 2PM, from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Harkins, Brother Orville White Jr., Pastor Chris Guice and Brother Jamie Godwin officiating; interment in the Summerville Cemetery.
