Mr. Marcus Leon Lenderman Obit (M)

Mr. Marcus Leon Lenderman, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at his home.
 
Mr. Lenderman was born September 17, 1927 in Gadsden, AL, the son of the late
Horace Lenderman and Arness Rainwater Lenderman.  He was retired from Bigelow-Sanford.  Mr. Lenderman was a veteran of the United States Navy,
having served in WWII.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by
a son, Marcus Lee Lenderman; and brothers, James Lenderman and Doyle
Lenderman.
 
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Lenderman; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Becky Lenderman; sister, Ann Coleman; grandchildren, Carter Lee
Lenderman, Kelly Lenderman, Wendy and Chad Wells; great-grandchildren, Jake Holden Wells, Caitlin Wells, and Barrett Smith.
 
Graveside and interment services will be held at 4:30 p. m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Summerville Cemetery with Jimmy Lenderman officiating.  Pallbearers will
be Chad Wells, Jake Wells, Chuck Shields, Jimmy Lenderman, and Harold
Gordon.
 
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  The family respectfully request no flowers and no food.

Mrs. Judith Rebecca Watson Obit (M)

Mrs. Judith Rebecca Watson, age 67, of Trion, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 Mrs. Watson was born in Rossville, Georgia on September 27, 1944, daughter of the late John Ledford and Ruby Taylor Ledford.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Watson, Jr.; brothers, Glazier Ledford, Leonard Ledford, and Raymond Ledford; sister, Geraldine Lofty, and a son, Donald Seckinger.

 Mrs. Watson is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Adele Watson, and Alison Faye Little; son-in-law, Scott Bennett; daughter-in-law, Treasie Eggerichs all of Trion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther (Bud) and Kathy Ledford of Chickamauga, Lonnie (Butch) and Karen Ledford of Florence, AL, and Leon Ledford of Lafayette; sister, Marie and Leonard (Sonny) Mayez of Chickamauga; and a number of nieces and nephews.

 Funeral Services for Mrs. Watson will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wright and Rev. Bill Proctor officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

 Pallbearers will be Dakota McGuire, Michael Watson, David Dean, Rusty Tucker and Bill Tapp.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Duke Williams and Clarence Watson.

 Mrs. Watson will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

Mrs. Lillian Marie Alexander Drummond obit (M)

Mrs. Lillian Marie Alexander Drummond, 97, of Summerville, GA died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her home.
 
Mrs. Drummond was born March 26, 1915 in Euharlee, GA, the daughter of the
late Lobrene and Lillie Bailey.  She was a homemaker and she attended New
Antioch Baptist Church.  Mrs. Drummond was the last survivor of twelve
brothers and sisters.
 
Survivors include her husband,  Jackie Drummond; and several
Nieces and Nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Mason
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Pettyjohn and Rev. Donnie Carver
officiating. interment at the Tennessee/Georgia Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Terry Shores, Ted Deberry, Tim Deberry, Dustin Long,
Claude Huskey, and Harold Helton.  Honorary pallbearers will be all members
of the Men’s Sunday School Class of New Antioch Baptist Church.
 
Mrs. Drummond will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will
receive friends from 12:00 noon Saturday  until the service hour.

Mr. Arnold Spencer, age 72, of Hall’s Valley Road-Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, afternoon at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Campton, Kentucky on December 17, 1939, He was a son of the late John and Evelyn Collins Spencer. Mr. Spencer was retired from the Maintenance Department of Shaw Industries. Surviving are His wife-Barbara Spencer; daughters-Sandra Wilson of Tip City, Ohio and Lisa Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; sons-Stacy Spencer of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Scotty Spencer of Raleigh, N.C., and Steve Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; Nine Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive. She was born in Floyd County, Georgia on August 5, 1922. Mrs. Warren was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by Her first husband the late Paul Easter. Surviving are husband Austin Warren, Jr.; daughter-Paula Easter of Summerville; grandson-Paul & Melissa Chamlee of Summerville; great granddaughter Avri Rose Chamlee; step daughter Denise Wyatt; step grandson-Stacy (Rick) Wyatt; step great grandson-Will Wyatt; sister-Betty Hendrix of Summerville; brothers-Earl Alred of Rome, James Alred of Summerville,and Eugene Alred of Colorado Springs, Colorado; several Nieces and Nephews. MRS. CORA I. TUCKER, age 88, of the Alpine Community, Menlo, Georgia passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, afternoon at Her home. She was born in Trion, Georgia February 13, 1924, daughter of the late W.H. and Dora Rape Spraggins. She was a lifetime member of the Alpine Community Church graduating from Menlo High School in 1942, where she played on the girls basketball team. She was a retiree of the sample department of Best Mfg. Company. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, the late Roy Lesley Tucker; a grandson, Brian Avery Tucker; sisters, Ruth Della Monica, Charlsie Mae (Charlie) Miller, Louise (Shug) Martin, Beatrice (Pete) Hall; brothers, Julius (Duke) Spraggins, D.W. (Bawdy) Spraggins, Andrew (Snowball) Spraggins, and D.F. (Sike) Spraggins. Surviving are sons & daughters-in-law-Dennis & Jeannie Tucker and Ralph & Martha Tucker all of Menlo; grandsons-Shane Tucker, Jason & Rebecca Tucker all of Menlo; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mr. Hubert Almon “Sam” Pruitt, age 83, of Mentone, AL passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Pruitt was born in Jamestown, AL on September 4, 1928, son of the late General Filmore Pruitt and Gladys Cavin Pruitt. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was employed with Riegel Textile Mill and was a farmer. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Pruitt; a brother, Leon Pruitt and a sister, Eloise Magnusson.

Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife; Louise Pruitt; son and daughter-in-law, Hershel and Sandra Pruitt; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Kerce and Vickie and Gary Carlisle; sister and brother-in-law, Ludain and Mack Gilreath; grandchildren, Heather Pruitt, Renee Pruitt, Katie Kerce, Christopher Kerce, Sarah Kerce, Katie Smith, Allen Gray, Kelsey Carlisle, Garrett Carlisle, Gary Carlisle, Jr., and Kim Bishop; great grandchildren, Joseph Ellis, Macey Gray, Isaac Gray, Ellie Bishop, and Wyatt Bishop.

Mrs. Johnnie Lynne Hillman Obit (M)

Mrs. Johnnie Lynne Hillman, age 54, of Rock Run, Alabama died Saturday,
May 26, 2012, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
 
Mrs. Hillman was born March 16, 1958 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the
late John H. Thomas and Kay Hale Thomas.  Mrs. Hillman was a senior
and an honor student at Jacksonville State University.   She was a graduate
of Trion High School in 1976 and a graduate of Walker Tech.  Mrs. Hillman
was former owner of Tiers of Joy.  Other than her parents, she was preceded
in death by her daughter, Katie Lynne Bradley; and a mother-in-law;
Connie Bowen Hillman.
 
Survivors include her husband, Steven Mark Hillman; father-in-law,
Joseph Hillman; step-daughter and husband, Jennifer and Robert Whatley; step-grandchildren, Caleb Whatley, Zoe Whatley, and Eden Whatley; brother, John Henry Thomas, Jr; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Gwyn & Alfred Crabtree, and Robin and  David Burkhalter; nieces, Christy Windle, Melinda Wallin, Ginger Wofford, Lauren Burkhalter, Ramsie Keen, Rese Wofford, and Lillie Beth Witt; nephews, Roy Witt, Dale Witt, Asa Windle, Chandler Keen, Dexter Witt, Will Witt, Bradden Madux, and Kellen Anderson.

Home with Roy and Toni Clark giving eulogy.  Burial in West Hill Cemetery
with Rev. Tommy Pledger.  Active pallbearers will be Robert Jackson, Roy Witt,
Dale Witt, Asa Windle , Robert Whatley, Graham Grimes, Casey Murray,
and Chandler Keen.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Spring
Garden Fire Dept.
 
Mrs. Hillman will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until
8:00 p. m. (EST) on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Mason Funeral Home.
She will also lie in state at Union Grove Methodist Church from 11:00 until

Mr. Thomas Fredrick (Tommy) Beech, age 59, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday May 26, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Beech was born Nov. 25, 1952, in Athens, TN, the son of the late Valmond and Lucille Collins Beech. He was formerly employed with Mt. Vernon Mills, a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and preceded in death by twin daughters, Donna & Dianna Beech, sister, JoAnn Dentmond, brother, Larry Beech.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Walker Beech, sons, Matt Beech, and Mark Beech, step-daughters, and step-son-in-law Felicia Walker, Heather and Brian Collette, brothers, Robert (Bob) Beech, Valmond Beech, JR, sister, Gail Beech, grandchildren, Lorianna Beech, Kenzlee Collette, Jacob Whitaker, Angel Walker, Joey Walker, Tyler Owens.
