Mr. Dewayne Bethune Obit (M)

Mr. Dewayne Bethune, age 76, of Trion, GA died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his

residence.

Mr. Bethune was born January 11, 1936 in Trion, GA, the son of the late Clyde

Ray Bethune and Dice Lacey Bethune. He was retired from the United States

Air Force, where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Air Force

Sergeant’s Association, the VFW and the American Legion. He also retired

from the United States Postal Service after 18 years of service. Mr. Bethune

was an avid miniature car collector. Other than his parents, he was preceded

in death by 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Orville Bethune and Herbert Bethune and wife, Lois Bethune.

Survivors include his wife, Betty “Katherine” Bethune; son, Mark Dewayne Bethune; daughters and husbands, Pamela Naughton, Cheri & John Jett, and

Michelle and Ray Bicknell; brothers and wives, David and Joyce Bethune,

Raymond and Dee Bethune, Doyle and Shirley Bethune, Vanlee and Mona

Bethune; sisters and husbands, Charlotte and Ron Huguley, Mary & Jerry Day,

Naomi and Todd Slate, Kathi & Clete Holtzer; sister-in-law, Jessie Bethune;

grandchildren, Matthew and wife, Kim Campbell, Alex Naughton, Samantha Wood, Jordan Bethune, Maci Bicknell, Logan Bicknell, and Martina Jett,

Jeff Jett; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mason

Funeral Home, with Rev. Vernon Johnson and Mr. Matt Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be military. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers, David

Bethune, Raymond Bethune, Doyle Bethune, and Vanlee Bethune.

Mr. Bethune will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive

friends from 11:00 a. m. until the service hour on Friday.
