Mrs. Lura Bell Precise obit (EP)

Mrs. Lura Bell (Lou) Precise, age 77 of Summerville, GA died April 7, 2012 after a long battle with emphysema and other health issues.  She was born May 5, 1934 in Hamilton, AL  She was the daughter of the late James (Jim) and Nicie Howell and her Poppa and Momma, Ira and Minnie Nelson.  Mrs. Precise was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Marion Precise, Jr.; son, Michael Ray Precise; daughter, Deborah Lynn Precise; sister, Ethel (Paulie) Brown; and brothers, Wilburn (Catherine) Howell, Cleveland Howell, and Dennis Ray Howell.
   Prior to her illness she was employed by Shaw Industries, Ringgold, GA.
   Lura Bell was a member of Trion Heights Baptist Church.
   She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Richard Coffey; "second son" and daughter-in-law, Gary and Doris Precise; grandson, Brian Evans Precise; step-grandson, Clark (Holly) Coffey, Jr.; step-granddaughter, Rebecca (Chris) Shoemake; sisters, Stella (Lamar) Beaird, Verlene (Fred) Pope, Jessie (the late Orville) Bethune, Dorothy (Bobby) Byrd, Doris (Joel) Nixon, Dean Page, and Kathy Cosgrove; brothers, Wallace (Ressie) Howell, Max (Pat) Howell; sister-in-law, Hazel Howell; several nieces and nephews.
   The family will receive friends Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Johnson, Rev. Joey Kelly, and Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens.
   Pallbearers will be Clete Holzer, Dana, Leguin, Carl Fowler, Denny Stricklin, Jackie Corbin, Frankie Abernathy, Doug Colbert, and Johnny Human.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class of Trion Heights Baptist Church, and Elise Bailey, Phyllis Moses, Marlena Malone, Brandy Shepherd, and Simone Kilpatrick (Staff of Hutcheson Hospice), and Ann Lanier.

Mr.Albert Junior Parton Obit (M)

Mr. Albert Junior Parton,age 81, of Trion,GA died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Parton was born December 13, 1930 in Lyerly, GA, the son of the late James Albert and Etta Ellenburg Parton. He was self empolyed logger. Mr. Parton attened Ridgedale Unity Church of God. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton Parton and Herman Parton.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Lee Barnett Parton; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Joyce Parton; grandfchildren, Amy Smith, Amber Ables, and April Kelly; great- grandchildren, Caleb,Nathan,Anna, and Cohen;brother,Bill Parton; sisters, Edna McKenzie and Pat Stoker.

Funeral services willl be held at 2:00 p.m. Staurday, April 7,2012 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.Junior Evans officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbears will be Nephews.

Ms. Clarissa D. Jackson Obit (Howard Jones Nobles)

Clarissa D. Jackson 27 passed away on Sunday. She was a native of Glynn County and had lived in Jesup the past 10 years. Clarissa was an outgoing ,strong willed and hard working person.

Surviviors include her two children Ryan and Christine King, 2 sisters Ruby Laycock and fiance Michael Phillips of Jesup and Amanda Morgan of Douglas, a brother Charlie Hawkins of Summerville, Grandmother Phyllis Parish of Summerville, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and 3 uncles , Lloyd Parris of Trion, Calvin Parrish of Rome and Harold Parrish of Gaylesville.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11AM at the Howard Jones Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Moxley officiating, intermernt will be in Raulerson Cemetery.

Mr. Edgar Marnell Moseley Obit (Perry)

Mr. Edgar Marnell Moseley 65, passed away on Wednesday at his residence.  He was preceded in death by his wife Anga Williams Moseley , a son Robert Marnel Moseley and a daughter Laura Ann Moseley…

He was a native of Cherokee County, the son  of the late Eric and Avis Loveless Moseley and was a National Guard Veteran and retired from Goodyear, a former member of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association and a former member of the Cherokee County Democrtic Executive Committee.

Survivors include his daughter, Deidre Moseley of Centre, Sisters Bonnie and Wayne Ernst of Atlanta, Barbara and R.I. Morris Moseley of Orange Beach, and Linda Watts, of Birmingham, 3 Grandchildren, Alex , Cassidy and Coby O Neal, Several nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 3PM at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shane Swafford officaiting, with burial in  Hebron Cementery, The Family will receive friends from 1 until 3 on Sunday.

Mrs. Marsha Gail Beck Wilbanks Obit (M)

Mrs. Marsha Gail Beck Wilbanks, age 67, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wilbanks was born June 4, 1944 in Summerville, GA the daughter of Sybil Freeman and the late Edward M. Hill. Mrs. Wilbanks was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was retired from the Chattooga County School System where she had served as a teacher for 31 years. She was a graduate of Berry College and an under graduate of West Georgia College. Mrs. Wilbanks was a board member of the Chattooga County DFACS. She was co-organizer of the North West Georgia Balloon Festival. She served a number of years on the Chattooga County Tourism Committee. Other than her father, Mrs. Wilbanks was preceded in death by her step-father, Lamar Cleveland.

Survivors include her husband, Sherman Wilbanks; sons, Jason Beck and Adam Beck; step-children, Janet Corbett and Jeff Wilbanks; mother, Sybil Cleveland; step-brother, Sanford “Buddy” Hill; 5 Grandchildren; and 1 Great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn and Bro. Jeff Wilbanks officiating. Interment to follow at Ami Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jordan Wilbanks, B. J. Gamble, Seth Turner, Eddie Massey, Paul Wilbanks, and Jim Wisherd. Mrs. Christy Michelle Price, age 35, of Lyerly, GA died Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Whitfield County, GA.

Mrs. Price was born August 9, 1976 in Rome, GA, the daughter of Chris Oglesby. She was employed at Roper Corporation and she was a member of Sonrise Community Church.

Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Marshall Price, JR; son Tyler LeePrice; daughter, Aliyah Gabielle Price; brother, Johnny Oglesby; mother and father-in-law; Sheila Ann and Marshall Price.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chip Smith and Rev. L. D. Ludy officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Mr. Artemus Ladell Adams Obit (M)

Mr. Artemus Ladell Adams, age 81, of McDonough, GA died April 1, 2012 at his residence in McDonough.

Mr. Adams was born April 11, 1930 in Chesterfield, AL, the son of the lateArthur Lee Adams and Petrinella Finley Adams. He was retired from National Casting. Mr. Adams was president of Secor Gardens Neighborhood Association. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 59 years, Velma Adams; sons, Dr. Richard Adams and Arthur Adams; daughters, Patricia Adams-Purnell and Alisa Adams; sister, Portia Vaughn; brothers, Ahmed Adams and Vance Adams; grandchildren, Matthew Swan, Tyron Wright, and Bianca Adams; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Swan, Michael Swan, and Trevor Swan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Burial will be in Allgood Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas J. McDaniel Jr., 81 of Summerville, passed away Saturday, March 31st at Our country Home Hospice in LaFayette, he was retire from the U.S.  Postal Service and the U.S. Army and was a member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church..

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Wiggins McDaniel of Summerville, a son and daughter in law Jeffrey and LuWillow McDaniel of Franklin, TN. 2 daughters Pamela and Elizabeth McDaniel of Illinois, one granddaughter Kristinal Burrell of Illinois,  five brothers Oliver McDaniel of North Carolina, Bobby and Rebecca McDaniel of Augusta, Lazaus and Lorain McDaniel of Gonzales, Louisiana, Alfred and Mary McDaniel of Lyerly and Steve McDaniel of Gaylesville, three sisters Dorothy Brown of Decatur, and Georgia McDaniel and Patricia Jackson of Massachusetts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive….

Mrs. Elizabeth Powell Obit (M)

Mrs. Elizabeth Eugenia Powell, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Powell was born July 8, 1927 in Chattooga County, GA the daughter of the late Hines William and Lizzie Kinsey Warren. She was retired from Montgomery Knitting Mills. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Powell; and a son Phillip Shankles.

Survivors include her brother, Brimp Warren; grandchild, Kristina Ann Elliott; great grandchildren, Peyton Elliott and Haley Elliott; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs. Velma Leola “Vera” Hunter, age 86 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Hunter was born in Carroll County, Georgia on July 30, 1926, daughter of the late Tucker Sims Posey and Clarissa (Mindie) Davis Posey. She was retired from Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mill. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold Hunter; a daughter, Glenda Rutledge; a son & daughter-in-law, Kenneth (O.B.) & Lynda Hunter; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
