Mrs. Mary Sue Snyder, age 78, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Snyder was born November 29, 1932 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Rufus and Ida Stowe Grimes. Mrs. Snyder was a member of Pennville First Baptist Church. She was a retired dental hygienist, having worked for Dr. Davidson, Dr’s Christenberry & Cromartie, Dr. Mason, and Dr. Ware over a period of 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Snyder; and a special brother, Morris “Bud” Grimes, and 14 other brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son, David Snyder, Trion, GA; daughters and husbands, Beverly & David Talley, Calhoun, GA and Wendy and Chris Proctor, Rome, GA; sister, Frances Clementine Hayes; grandchildren, Kirsty Talley, Marci and husband, Bryan Banks, Brett and wife, Brianne White, Jennifer and husband, Chris Davenport, and Alyson Proctor; great grandchildren, Bryson Talley, McKenzie Talley, Eli White, Ansley Davenport, Logan Davenport, and Kaden Banks; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brett White, Chris Davenport, Justin Whelchel, Bryan Banks, Howard Shelton, and Danny Spraggins.
Mrs. Snyder will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Saturday
Mrs. Aileen Adams Mosley 73 of Summerville passed away Tuesday at Floyd Medical Center.
She is the widow of the late Mr. Benjamin Jefferson Davis Mosley and a member of the A.M.F. Quintet.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Mrs. Lena Mosley and Mrs. Katie Jackson and was retired from Bigelow Carpet Mill. She is survived by two devoted sons and daughter in laws; Briton and Colette Mosley and Bradford and DeShana Mosley of Rome.; two granddaughters; Camden and Brayundra Mosley, grandson Adam Fredric, one sister Mrs. Louise Favors of Summerville, sister in law; Mrs. Vernell Shropshire, a brother in law, Mr. A.L. Mosley; special cousins; Oscar and Mattie Farmer, nieces , nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2PM at Oak Hill Baptist Church Gore Community Summerville, with Pastor George Beavers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until the funeral hour. Internent Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home of Dalton.
Mrs. Jerrie Lynn McCullough age 48 of Back Berryton Road, Summerville, GA passed away Monday, November 7, 2011. Mrs. McCullough was born August 22, 1963 in Summerville, GA.
She was employed with Taco Bell in Canton, GA, a greaduate of Chattooga High School and was Church of God by faith.
Mrs. McCullough was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Earl "Porky" Craig; grandparents, Claude Sr. and Lora Pettyjohn and Dillard and Daisy Craig.
Mrs. McCullough is survived by husband, Terry "Unya" McCullough of Summerville, GA; father and step-mother, Robert Edward and Teresa Craig of Trion, GA; mother, Marilyn Gaye Pettyjohn Craig of Berryton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Robert Sizemore of Berryton, GA; nephews, William Ty Craig and Michael Blake Sizemore of Berryton, GA; niece, Ashley Sizemore of Berryton, GA; step-brother, Shannon Keen of Summerville, GA; several other nieces and nephews also survived.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, at 2PM November 10, 2011 from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Berryton Cemetery.
Mrs. McCullough will lie-in-state Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Blake Sizemore, Stephen Craig, Albert Broome, Billy Joe Durham, Tony Noles, and Matthew Simmons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Thompson, John Dotson, and the Dialysis Center of Cartersville, GA
Mrs. Kay Marie Thomas, age 75, of Trion, GA passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Thomas was born May 1, 1936 in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Ida Margaret Moore and Ralph W. Hale. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed with Lay’s Variety Store and had also worked in several textile mills. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Trion Presbyterian Church and an active member in the Trion Community, serving as a Cub Scout Leader. She was also a member of The Yard of the Month Club. Mrs. Thomas was a loving mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Thomas, Sr. and a grandchild, Ms. Katie Lynn Bradley.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son, John Henry Thomas, Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Gwyndolyn Hale and Alfred Crabtree, Johnnie Lynne and Steve Hillman, Robin Marie and David Burkhalter; grandchildren, Christy Wofford Windle, Melinda Witt Wallin, Ginger Wofford Brown, Roy and Racheal Witt, Dale Witt, Lauren Burkhalter; great-grandchildren, Asa Windle, Rese Wofford, Ramsie Keen, Kellen Anderson, Dexter Witt, Will Witt, LilyBeth Witt, Braden Maddux, and Chandler Keen.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Thomas will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Regan officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Witt, Dale Witt, Asa Windle, Chandler Keen, David Burkhalter, Tommy Moore, Alfred Crabtree. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of At Peace Hospice Care, and the Staff of Wal-Mart Pharmacy.
Mrs. Thomas will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday evening from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
Mrs. Bobbie Jean Fincher Kendrick, age 78, of Summerville, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Suites at Oakview in Summerville. Mrs. Kendrick was born in Rome, GA on April 11, 1933, daughter of Jessie Mae Tallent Fincher and the late E.P. Fincher. She was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church. Mrs. Kendrick is survived by her mother, Jessie Mae Tallent Fincher, daughter, Beth Huggins, brother Weyman Fincher and grandson, Benjamin Huggins. Funeral Services for Mrs. Kendrick will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Huggins, Marty Huggins, Wayne Tallent, Tom Kendrick, Bradley Fincher, Matthew Fincher.
