Mrs. Eva Grace Norton, age 84 of Woods Road, Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Norton was born in LaFayette,GA on September 4, 1927. She had been employed with Eagle Manufacturing and was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church where she had taught the Grace Bible Class for which the class was named after her. Mrs. Norton passed away 33 years to the date of her husband’s passing.
Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Ballenger Norton; father and mother, Luther Earl Anderson, Sr. and Paralee Akins Anderson; daughter, Eva Nell Woods; sisters, LaVera Pickle, Levicie Anderson, Idell Howell, and Estelle Anderson; and brother, Luther Earl Anderson, Jr.
Mrs. Norton is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Gwynne Ingle of Gaylesville, AL, Deneta and Randy Stallings of Armuchee, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Carol Norton of Atlanta, GA and Joe and Sherry Norton of Crossville, AL; son-in-law, Roy Woods of Summerville, GA; grandchildren, Mike and Gary Woods, Cindy Turpin, Cheryl Blair, Stephen, Stacy, and Chris Norton, Tracy Kight, Brandy McCool, Kristy Hammond, and Randall and Emily Stallings; 16 great-grandchildren; special niece and care-giver, Frances Keith; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. from the Dry Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Norton will lie-in-state, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Dry Valley Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Norton, Stacy Norton, Randall Stallings, Mike Woods, Gary Woods, and Chris Norton. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Grace Bible Class of the Dry Valley Baptist Church and Nurses and Staff of F Hall of Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Feed the Hungry Ministry of Dry Valley Baptist Church or Gideons International.
Mrs. Ina Jennie Ray, age 85, of Resaca, GA, passed away Thursday September 22, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Ray was born March 1, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio, She was a Book Keeper for Chitwood Rug, and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her brothers, Chester Baer, George Baer, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday September 24, 2011 from the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Bret Yaeger and Rev. David Ray officiating with interment in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Ray, Chris Ray, J.H. Cooper, Jack Fuller, Lynn Ekin, Doc Shipman. Mrs. Ray will be in state at the Temple Baptist Church in Resaca, Saturday September 24, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour. Mason Funeral Home of Summerville is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Ina Jennie Ray.
Mrs. Shirley Ann Hurley Petitt, age 75 of Highway 27 Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Petitt was born August 29, 1936 in Summerville, GA. She was employed for 34 years with the Chattooga County School System and was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Petitt was preceded in death by husband, J. W. "Bob" Petitt, father and mother, Austin and Nora Mitchell Hurley; brothers and sisters-in-law, J. C. and Doris Hurley and Ernest "Lard" and Dot Hurley.
Mrs. Petitt is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Jimmy Lenderman of Summerville, Ga; and son, Chris Petitt of Summerville, GA. 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Pennville First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Pledger and Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating. Interment will be in the Perennial Springs Cemetery. Summerville, GA.
Mrs. Petitt will be in state at the funeral home on Thursday, September 22, 2011 where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Flora Beatrice Bradley Stancil, age 92 of Douglasville, Georgia formerly of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Stancil was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on April 20, 1919, daughter of the late Fate Bradley and Viola Holcomb Bradley. She attended the Higher Ground Baptist Church in Douglasville and was a member of the Berryton Church of God. Mrs. Stancil was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lee Stancil; children, Hugh Don Stancil, James Ralph Stancil, Bill Glen Stancil, Danny Ray Stancil, Mary Helen Stancil, Ted Stancil and Robert Lee Stancil; sisters, Cora Annis Garmony, Dora Mae Adkins, Nora Lee O’Bryant, and Opal Spear; and a brother, Neely Bradley.
Mrs. Stancil is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David D. and Joyce Stancil of Douglasville; daughter-in-law, Linda Stancil of Cartersville; sister, Faye Moon of Centre, AL; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Stancil will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Berryhill and Rev. Jerry Rutledge officiating. Interment will follow in the Needmor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Lee Stancil, Travis Stancil, Jackie Stancil, Jerry Stancil, Eric Evans, and Lake England. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy & Deanna Peavine, James & Ashley Caviness, Wesley & Becky Garmony and Johnny & Elizabeth Reynolds.
Mrs. Stancil will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
