Mr. Jeremy Todd Hartline Obit

Mr. Jeremy Todd Hartline, age 33, of LaFayette, GA died Monday, March 7, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Hartline was born April 2, 1977 in Chattanooga, TN , the son of the late William Henry Hartline, JR and Frances Elaine Stewart Hartline. He was a member of Woodstation United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Lyn Everett and Kerrie Dalrymple.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Woodstation Cemetery. Minister Hugh Glaze will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Trimby, Ben Langston, Jason Talley, Chad Trimby, Mike Trimby, and Jason Oglesby. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Everett, Aaron Russell, and all employees of the LaFayette Dialysis Clinic.

Mr. Hartline will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011.

Mrs. Mable Johnson Obit

Mrs. Mable Louise Johnson, age 100 of Summerville, passed away surrounded by family and friends, Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on March 23, 1910, daughter of the late William and Lydia Cash Willingham. She was of the Baptist faith and in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her Husband, William F. “Willie” Johnson, son , Joe H. Johnson, infant son, W A Johnson, a grandson, Mark Johnson; brothers, Arthur Willingham, Tommy Willingham, L.D. Willingham, Blue Willingham, Wilburn Willingham and Lonnie Willingham; sisters, Jessie Rhinehart and Annie Mae Dempsey.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Kathryn McWhorter of Trion; William F. “Bill” and Joyce Johnson, Jr. of Rome, Charles E. And Sue Johnson and Ronald and Sylvia Johnson both of Summerville; sister, Mary Barnes of Summerville; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell, Rev. Tony Jackson, Rev. Billy Dempsey and Rev. Tony Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons: Willie Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Joe Fay Johnson, Jr., Zach Lively, Micah Lively, and Todd Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews.

Mrs. Johnson will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

Mr. Jarret Blaine Higgins

Mr. Jarret Blaine Higgins, age 14, of Summerville, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence.

Jarret was born in Rome, Georgia on April 20, 1996, son of Christopher Michael Higgins and Brandy Joe Clines Burkhalter.

Jarret is survived by his mother and step-father, Brandy and Grant Burkhalter; father, Chris Higgins; brothers, Kaylon Higgins, Evan Burkhalter, and Trace Burkhalter; sister, Cayla Burkhalter; grandparents, Janet and Gregory Robertson and Ricky and Jean Rhinehart; great grandparents, Joe and Foye Clines, and Pauline Strickland, great great grandmother, Evaline Fairchild; and a number of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Funeral Services for Jarret will be held Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brian Tucker, Bo Rhinehart, Richard Dean, and Jackie Watwood.

Pamela Ruth Pas

Mrs. Pamela Ruth Pas, age 45, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday March 4, 2011, at her residence.

Mrs. Pas was born Oct. 1, 1965, in Chattooga County GA, the daughter of Doyle L. Dover and the late Alice Juanita Ramey Dover. She was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church and preceded in death by a Son, James Michael Rogers, JR, and a Daugther, Tiffany Alison Michelle Rogers.

Survivors include her Father, Doyle L. Dover, Son, Robert Bart (Rob) Pas, JR, Sisters, Cheryl L. Sneed, Teresa D. Lee, Patricia A. Evans, Brothers, Larry E. Dover, Brion Dover, Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday March 5, 2011, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell officiating.

Geraldine K Rutherford obit

Mrs. Geraldine K. Rutherford of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born September 26, 1922  in LaFayette, GA, was a housewife, and a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church.
   Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her husband, Millard S. Rutherford; father and mother, Hushell and Beulah Waters Kellett; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
   Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Evans of Summerville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 4:00 pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.
   Mrs. Rutherford will lie-in-state Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm.

Elizabeth Howell Meadows Obit

Elizabeth Howell Meadows of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Redmond Regional Medical Center.  She was born December 28, 1939 in Trion, GA.  She had been employed with Sav-A-Lot and was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell David Meadows; father and mother, Earl Daniel and Bonnie Ruth Tidmore Howell; brother, Mike Howell; and a grandson, Corey Thompson.
   Survivors include  a daughter, Holly Cothran of Summerville, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Victor Shropshire and Neil and Hope Shroppshire of Summerville, GA; step-sons and daughters-in-law, David and Paulette Meadows and Phil and Kathy Meadows of Trion, GA
step-daughter, Janet Waldrop of Leesburg, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Malcolm Dodd of Summerville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Susan Howell of Rossville, GA; grandchildren, Kristina Cothran, Clyde Cothran, Jonathan Shropshire, and Aryan Ludwig Beck; great-grandson, Branden Thompson; several step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Christine Carver, age 82 of Gaylesville, passed away Wednesday, March 2nd, at her residence.

Funeral services will be 10: AM Friday, March 4th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating; burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8: PM Thursday.

Pallbearers include Jordan Hamilton, Joshua Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, Ricky Black and Donnie Mackey.

Survivors include daughter, Sue (Larry) Black; sons, David (Eva) Bowman, Stanley (Teresa) Carver and Larry (Sarah) Carver; grandchildren, Sheri (Robert) Hamilton, Kristi Black, great granddaughter, Victoria Slayton; great grandsons, Jordan & Joshua Hamilton; other grandchildren, Darla, Lori, Karen, Melissa, Missy, Crystal, Ashley, Heather, Anna, Brandon, Daniel, Michelle and Kathy.

Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carver; son, Steve Bowman and daughter, Cindy West.

Mrs. Carver was a native of DeKalb County, the daughter of the late Buford & Nora Aaron and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Mr. Henry L Buddy Wooten Obit

MR. HENRY L. “Buddy” WOOTEN, age 71, of Willow Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday evening, February 28, 2011, in a Rome hospital. Born in Rainesville, Alabama on March 6, 1939, He was a son of William Rother and Lillie Belle Willoughby Wooten of Summerville. Mr. Wooten attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Best Mfg. Company, Finishing Department. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Martha Elaine Reynolds Wooten, a sister the late Carol Helton, and brothers- the late Truman Wooten and the late Billy Fayne Wooten.

Surviving are His Parents; daughter and son-in-law-Terree & Greg Comer of Albertville, AL.; two sons and daughter-in-law-Tony & Charlene Wooten of Gaylesville, AL.; and Randal Wooten of Summerville; sister and brother-in-law -Diane & Larry Hunter of Summerville; grandchildren-Tommy Shane Miller of Summerville, Shellie Nicole Dixon of Albertville, Al., Allie Jo Wooten, and Matthew Wooten both of Summerville; Darrell & Melissa Mitchell and Tracy & Michelle Mitchell of Gaylesville, AL; Great Grandson Nicholas Connor Dixon of Albertville, AL. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Durden officiating, interment in Moseley Cemetery. Mrs. Irene Barrett Evans Marbutt Obit

Mrs. Irene Barrett Evans Marbutt, age 84, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Marbutt was born June 29, 1926 in Chattooga County, GA the daughter of the late John Barrett and Leila Mae Walters Barrett. She was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church and a homemaker. Other than her parents, Mrs. Marbutt was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Evans; her second husband, Rufus Marbutt; and grandchildren, Austin Boothe and Ethan King.

Mrs. Marbutt is survived by a son, James W. "Jimmy" Evans, JR and wife, Patricia Ann Evans; sister, Clara Warren and husband, Brimp Warren; grandchildren, Angela Fuller, Amelia Evans, and Alicia Jones; 6 Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Mrs. Marjorie W. Bean

Marjorie W. Bean, 84 of Lakeland, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 due to heart failure. She was born December 8, 1926 in Trion, Georgia to Jim and Ella (Stiles) Wardlaw and moved to Lakeland in 1969 coming from Jekyll Island, Georgia. Marjorie was a devoted partner to her husband, Tommy, mother, grandmother and homemaker and was member of The First Baptist Church at The Mall.

Her dedication to her Life’s Mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ was exemplified through Christian Womens Club and counseling at Compassion House. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Lewis Tommy Bean who resides in Lakeland; her daughter, Tina (Walter) Brown of Lakeland; her son, Andy (Debbie ) of Lakeland and her grandchildren, Heather and Amanda Brown, Lauren Bean Cushenbery, Lindsay Bean and Jordan Bean Rayburn. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Monday at the Lakeland Funeral Home.
