Ms. Sandra Dover Edgeworth, age 63 of Summerville, GA passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at a Rome, GA hospital.

Ms. Edgeworth was born November 11, 1959 in Trion, GA to Roy and Clara Adams Dover. She is retired from IH services.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roy L. Dover.

Survivors include her mother, Clara Dover; son, Eric (Erin) Dover; brother, Richard L. Dover; and grandchildren, Katie & Aubree Edgeworth, and Sophia & Graceynn Burrage.

In accordance to Ms. Edgeworth’s wishes there will be no public services.

MR. JOHNNY AMOS EDGEWORTH, age 59, of Dry Valley Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away suddenly Friday afternoon in a Rome hospital. A native Chattooga Countian, He was born to the late Kelley Amos Edgeworth and Betty Ann Siffles Edgeworth (who survives), on December 17, 1963. Prior to retirement Johnny was employed by the Gyron Car Wash for 30 years. In addition to His Father, was preceded in death by a sister, the late Shirley Edgeworth.

Surviving are His, Mother, Betty Ann Edgeworth; nephew, Joseph Edgeworth; several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Collins officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Tony Fountain, Russell Green, Michael Hall, David Ragan, Robert Siffles, and Colt Siffles. The Family will receive friends Monday from noon until 2 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

MRS. BETTY MAYES MOORE, age 89, of Cloudland, Georgia, passed away Friday morning, September 15, 2023, in the local nursing home. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, was born to the late Cecil and Lucy Lee Talton Mayes, on March 5, 1934. Mrs. Moore was a member of Howard Chapel Baptist Church, was retired from Lockheed Corporation security department, and in addition to Parents was preceded in death by a sister, the late Miriam Powers.

Surviving are Her husband, James Thomas Moore; son, Jerry Haney; nieces, Brenda Paladino and Debbie Verner; Four Grandchildren also survive,

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Mason officiating, interment in Cloudland Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas Melvin “Tommy” Schrader, age 78, of Cloudland, GA, died Friday, September 15, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Schrader was born March 15, 1945, in Sylva, NC, son of the late George William and Minnie Frances Creasman Schrader.  He was a member of Chelsea Baptist Church and prior to his retirement, was employed with Bigelow-Sanford Rug Mill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Schrader, Terrell Schrader, and David Schrader.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Smith Schrader; sons, Michael (Starla) Schrader, Timothy Schrader; daughter, Charlotte (Rusty) Gill; brother, Mark Schrader; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 17, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in New Home Cemetery in Henagar, AL.  Active pallbearers will be Rusty Gill, Zachary Gill, Greg Smith, and Mark Schrader.  Christopher Walsh will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Mr. Schrader will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Sunday.

Mrs. Linda Faye Wynn, age 80, of Cedar Bluff, AL, passed from this world on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Wynn was born December 7, 1942, in Cedar Bluff, AL, daughter of the late William Burdette Wood and Annie Lucille Wood. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church.

She was a founding member of the church’s outreach program where she helped provide food and resources to anyone in need. She also served as Church Treasurer. Mrs. Wynn was an excellent fisher lady who often outfished everyone on the boat. She really enjoyed her life on the lake.

Mrs. Wynn had the most beautiful flowers in her yard and spent many hours working with her plants. An avid Elvis fan, she enjoyed Elvis’ music and collecting his memorabilia. She loved her family, her church family, and her church. Mrs. Wynn helped everyone she knew any way that she could, and did it with so much love. She will be missed, but her love, grace, and generosity will live on through everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wynn was preceded in death by sisters, Margie Leath, Jean Morrison, and Sibyle Stepps; and a brother, Bill Wood.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Roy Wynn; daughter, Kelley Wynn Clinton; sisters, Susan (Joe) Hall, Ruby Watts; and grandchild, Townes G. Clinton; special niece, Sheila Green.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. (AL Time) Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Cosby and Bro. Keith Day officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 P.M. (AL Time) until the hour of service on Saturday at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Clifton, Marvin “Bud” Wooten, Austin Everett, Larry Black, Dusty Hall, Darrell Green, Matt Bedwell, Donnie Wynn, Max Wynn, Randy Wood, Jeffery Wood, Joe Hall, and Wayne Day.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Richard McCollough age 75 of Menlo, GA passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. McCollough was born August 30, 1948 in Summerville, GA to the late Doyle and Lorene Watson McCullough. He was retired from Heil Industries. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam, and he was a retired Chief of the Rinehart Fire Department.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by siblings, Nelly Jones, Patsy Graves, and Johnny McCollough.

Survivors include his long time companion, Karen Howard; children, Casandra (Jerry) Cole, Christy (Zac) Valentine, Amelia (Shannon) Chesser, and Scott (Angie) Howard; sister, June Ferry; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. McCollough will be at 2:00 PM EST Monday, September 11 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Koonce and Rev. Wayne Killian officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Bowling, Lucas Cole, Johnathon Ray, Jackie Mobbs, Les McCollough, and Chuck Powell.

Mrs. Irene Roberts, age 102 of Trion, GA passed away September 7, 2023 at a Rome Hospital.

Mrs. Roberts was born March 26, 1921 in Etowah, AL. She loved dogs and was a Southern Baptist and was very devoted to her faith.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Roberts, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include her son, Randall Roberts, grandchildren: Greg Roberts and Alicia Direnzo, great-grandchildren: Joshua Roberts, Brandon Roberts, Kilee Direnzo and Ashley Direnzo, and her dog, Ben.

Graveside and interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Roberts will take place Saturday September 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in Subligna Cemetery with Rev. George Pinion officiating. Pallbearers will be: Nolan Crisp, Noah McQuese, Eli McQuese, Robert McQuese, Anthony McWhorter, and Will McWhorter.

Mr. Horace Sneed age 78 of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at a Rome hospital.

Mr. Payne was born July 15, 1945 in Cummings, GA to Susie Eller Sneed.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Horace E. Sneed and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his sons, Gary (Rhonda) Sneed, Larry (Nancy) Sneed, and Jerry Sneed; daughter, Susan Hunter; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jerry “Poobie” Glenn Payne age 65 of Trion passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 31, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Payne was born November 7, 1957 in Whitwell, TN to the late J.M. Payne and JoAnn Cash. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills after 46 of years of service. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and of Pennville Church of Christ.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Annelle Payne; and brothers, Eddie Payne and Ronnie Dykes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Paulette Lowrance; daughters, Brianna Payne, Heather Thompson, Brittany Payne, Amber Tapp, and Chastity Fowler; step-son, Michael Hammond; siblings Kevin cash and Kim Manning; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Payne will take place at 2:00 PM Friday- September 8, 2023 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Russell and Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett Cemetery with Zach McGuire, Levi McGuire, David Tapp, Chris Baggett, Michael Hammond and Matthew Tapp serving as pallbearers. Mrs. June Ione Ulsrud Zahn, age 95, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, September 3, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Woodstock, GA.

Mrs. Zahn was born June 20, 1928, in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of the late Chris Amil and Gladys Violet Winge Ulsrud. She was a homemaker and member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Zahn enjoyed playing cards with friends and cooking for people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Adolf Zahn; sons, Lee Johnson, Steven Zahn; daughters, Cheryl Johnson, Denise Zahn; sister, Joyce Resemius; brother, David Ulsrud; grandson, Richard Huen; and son-in-law, Brian Henning.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Zahn; daughters, Anita (James) Rice, Vanessa Henning, and Christine (Manuel) Garcia; a sister, Lynne Irwin; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
