Mrs. Penny Sue Bandy, age 40, of Menlo, GA died Saturday, July 12, 2008 from injuries

 

received in an automobile accident.

 

Mrs. Bandy was born April 27, 1968 in Dalton, GA, the daughter of Linda Sue Hegwood and

 

the late Sayre Monroe Hegwood.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Summit Church

 

of God.

 

Mrs. Bandy is survived by her husband, Sidney Bandy; daughters, Tennie Sueann Bandy and

 

Josephine Ann Bandy, all of Menlo, GA; mother, Linda Sue Hegwood, Centre, AL; brothers,

 

Ricky Hegwood, Rainsville, AL, Johnny Hegwood, Ocala, FL, and Dewayne Hegwood,

 

Pensacola, FL; and several Nieces and Nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from the chapel of

 

Mason Funeral Home with Min. Berlin Murphy and Min. James Stephens officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Berea Church of Christ Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Chris

 

Russell, Matt Boyd, Michael Hegwood, Jonathan Woodard, Wally Plebanski, Marty Boyd,

 

Junior Boyd, and Ricky Hegwood.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Bowman, David Cavin,

Miss Katie Lynne Bradley age 17 of County Road 328 Piedmont Al. passed away Saturday from injuries received in and automobile accident…Katie was born in Rome on august 15th 1990 and was  a 2008 graduate of Spring Garden High School , a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church in Rock Run, Al and was a collector for a collection agency.

Surviving are mother and step father, Johnnie Lynn Thomas and Steve Hillam of Piedmont. Father, Tommy Bradley of Calhoun, , maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Thomas of Trion, Paternal Grandmother, Carolyn Bradley of Cedar Bluff, Step GRandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hillman of Rock Run, AL. step Sister Jennifer Whatley of Heleana, AL. Special friend Casey Murray of Piedmont, several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins also survive.

Mrs. Diane Bennett, age 57 of Martin Street Summerville , passed away Saturday morning in a Rome Hospital following an extended illness.  A Trion native she was born to the late James Ralph Teems, Sr. and Mary Bernice Garmany Teems on January 27th , 1951.  Mrs./ Bennett was a  a member of Beryton Bible Mission and was retired dispatcher for Lookout Mountain Services.  Surviving are husband Charles R. Charlie bennett, sons and Spouses, Jeff adn Brandy Bennett of Menlo and Jerry and Tyra Bennett of Trion, Grandchildren Dakota, Andrew, and Alex Bennett, Sisters Wanda F. Allen of Magnolia, TX. and Barbara McCrickard of Rhinehard, Al., Brother James R. Teems Jr. of Trion, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2pm from the J.D. Mr. Dennis "Duck" Lamar Hughes died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at his residence in Gaylesville, AL. Mr. Hughes was born October 11, 1953 in Michigan, the son of Virginia Murphy Hughes and the late Wilburn Hughes.  He was a brick mason and a member of the Berea Church of Christ.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his children, Dennis Hughes, II, Gaylesville, AL, DieDra Hughes Rench, Lyerly, GA; mother, Virginia Hughes, Gaylesville, AL; brother, Kenneth Hughes, Gaylesville, AL; sisters, Phyllis Jean Sizemore, Trion, GA, Gail Rose, Gaylesville, AL, and Shirley Hughes, Dalton, GA; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 1:00 p. m. (EST) at the Berea Church of Christ with Minister Berlin Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Cemetery.

Chambers Obituary

Mr. Bobby Joe Chambers, age 69, of Summerville, GA (previously of Cedartown, GA) died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Chambers was born May 14, 1939 in Polk County, Georgia, the son of the late Paul and Blanche Goddard Chambers.  Mr. Chambers was retired from GM Motors. 

Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Chambers; children, Bobby Joe Chambers, Jr., Adairsville, GA, Sandra and Johnny Suits, Jo Ann and Curtis Brown, all of Summerville, GA; stepchildren, Richard Gilbert, Rosebud Gilbert; brothers, Jerry Chambers, Argon, GA, Billy Chambers, Atlanta, GA; 10 Grandchildren, Brandon & Brianna Spraggins, Samantha Whitten, and Courtney Deberry.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday, July 11, 2008 from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Brown and Rev. Martin Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.

Steven Elbert brown age 55 of 209 Aikens Rd, Chickamauga, GA. passed away Tuesday July 8th at his residence, he was employed by GA. Power Co. and was a baptist, a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his father J.C. Mrs Mary Vivian Lousie Dixson Kennedy age 88 of Ft. Payne, Alabama passed away Sunday July 6, 2008 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband Noah Kennedy of Ft. Payne and Daughters Faye Wofford and Charlotte Wigington both of Ft. Payne.  Sons, Richard Kennedy, James Edward Kennedy of Ft. Payne.  Also survived by sisters Ruby Petitt of Summerville, GA, Lavada Dean of LaFayette, GA and Nadine Bailey Moore of Rossville, GA along with Kathleen Gentry, Ovell Dixon, Barabara Gail Dixon and Jeanette Pope of Ft. Payne.  She is also survived by brothers Burl Dixson and Jimmy Dale Dixon of Ft. Payne along with 9 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Mrs. Robbie Lee Lingerfelt, age 87, of Gaylesville, AL., passed away Friday July 4, 2008, in Cherokee Medical Center.

Mrs. Lingerfelt was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Cherokee County Alabama, the daughter of the late Robert and Sara Barcley Tallent. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church #1,and was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Kelly Ann Lingerfelt, and Carra Kay Lingerfelt.

Survivors include her children, Richard Larry Lingerfelt, Glenwood City, Wisconsin, Elizabeth Joyce Stalker, Brenda Shelton, both of Gaylesville, AL., Teresa Ruff, Summerville, GA., 8 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great-grandchildren.
