Mrs. Ellen Lourine “Bobbie” Henry, age 93, of Rossville, GA, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Henry was born September 24, 1929, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Taylor and Willie Mae Wofford Ash. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Richmond Hosiery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clay Henry; brothers, Horace Ash, Taylor Ash, Jr., Bud Ash; sisters, Helen Baggett, Jeanette Thompson, and JoAnn Cash.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Clay Henry, Jr., Taylor Henry, David Henry, and Jim Henry; a brother, Billy Wayne Ash; sister, Rebecca Price; grandchildren, Shawn Henry, Shane Henry, Shannon Locke, David Henry, Jr., Chasity Foster, Tracy Jackson, Chris Henry, Selina Henry, Krista Crawford, and Elizabeth Gable; great-grandchildren, Zack Henry, Levi Coker, Dallas Coker, Taylor Jackson, Chalee Jackson, Jillie Foster, Whitleigh Foster, Hudson Henry, Marleigh Keahey, and Kailee Crawford; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Henry will be held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Garrett
Cemetery with Bro. Matt Foster officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews.

Linda Ruth Reece, Obit (ER)

MRS. LINDA RUTH REECE, age 81, of Congress Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday afternoon, November 18, 2022, in a Rome hospital, following a sudden illness. She was born on March 6, 1941 in Fort Payne, Alabama, to the late Wayne Howard and Verna Viola Fannin Blake. Linda was an exceptional business woman, having started a variety of successful businesses. In addition to Parents, She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Robert Lee “Sonny” Reece on December 2, 2021, sisters, Martha Cooper and Wanda Edwards, and an Infant Brother.

Surviving are daughter, Marty and Jimmy Lowery; son, Robert B. and Susan Reece; grandchildren, Cory (Jessica) Reece and Mackenzie Reece; great grandson, Easton Reece; great granddaughter, Brylee Reece; sister, Janette Chadwick; several Nieces and Nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, November 22nd, at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Gary Howell officiating, from United Christian Fellowship, on Highway #114 in Summerville, inurnment in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Adamsburg, Alabama, following the service. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Church. The Family request no flowers or food, and suggest contributions to United Christian Fellowship.

Faye Cash, Obit (ER)

MRS. FAYE CASH, age 70, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 19, 2022, at her residence following an illness. Faye was born on May 15, 1952 in Trion, Georgia to the late Bob and Faye Nell McDowell. She was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church and was retired from the District Attorney’s Office after many years of service. In addition to Her Parents, she was preceded in death by Twin sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and Jimmy Don Angles and brother, the late Bobby McDowell.

Surviving are husband, Andy Cash; daughter, Andrea Cash.

Funeral service and interment service will be held Wednesday, November 23rd, at 2:00 P.M. from Graveside in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Marsha Denise Bullard, age 50, of Gaylesville, AL, died Thursday, November 17, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Bullard was born February 25, 1972, in Fort Payne, AL, daughter of Mary Dale Hairel Bailey and the late James Doyle Waldrop. She was a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church and was employed with Renfroe.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Dobbs.

Survivors include her husband, Stacey Bullard; sons, Dakota (Rachael) Bowman, Tyler (Tiffany) Bullard, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Bullard; mother, Mary Dale Bailey; brother, Derrick Waldrop; sister, Monica (Jerry) Broccolo; grandchildren, Talynnn Bowman, Malika Bowman, Violette Bullard, and Braydynn Bullard.

Mrs. Rosie Helen Lawrence Adams, age 88, of Summerville, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Adams was born May 18, 1934, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late Carey B. and Frances Elizabeth Jackson Lawrence. She was Baptist by faith, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Adams, Sr.; sons, Terry McAuthor Adams and Odell James Adams.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Rickey (Chaidy) Adams, Wiley Adams, Jr, Michael (Mel) Adams, and Larry (Janet) Adams; daughters, Linda Lawrence, Mary Almond, Gloria Adams, and Teresa Adams; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Adams will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 21 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Bishop VT Harden and Rev. Barry Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rickey Adams, Michael Adams, Tommy Lawrence, Israel Christopher, Delveckio Adams, and Bernard Glass. Charles “Buddy” Colbert, SR, Obit (M)

Mr. Charles Edward “Buddy” Colbert, Sr., age 89, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Mr. Colbert was born June 13, 1933, in Broomtown, AL, son of the late Ernest C. and Dora Money Colbert. He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, had worked in the meat cutting industry as well as in the carpet industry. Mr. Colbert was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the V.F.W. He was also a member of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association. Along with his son, Eddie Colbert, he was also the owner and operator of Colbert Horse and Tack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nena Martin Colbert; a daughter, Tina Marie Colbert; and son, Charles Edward “Eddie” Colbert, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy (Terry) Day; grandchildren, B.J. Montgomery, Ashley Montgomery Brown, Doug Colbert, and Casey Colbert; 14 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Melissa Colbert; and sister-in-law, Susie Forbes.

Graveside and interment services for Mr. Colbert will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2022, at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Sheriff Mark Schrader officiating. Active pallbearers will be B.J. Montgomery, Doug Colbert, Eric Brown, Mark Schrader, Luke Busby, and Matthew Busby. Carol Brewster Pruitt, Obit (M)

Mrs. Carol Brewster Pruitt age 72 of Gaylesville, AL passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Pruitt was born April 12, 1950 in Trion, GA to the late Clyde Brewster, Jr & Mary Martin Brewster. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was a loving homemaker. Carol’s passion was crocheting hats for cancer patients and the homeless. She attached a card on each that said “Crocheting for Jesus” along with John 3:16. Her hats went to over 32 states and 4 different countries touching many souls while keeping many heads warm.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Pruitt; and twin brothers, William and Joseph Pruitt.

Survivors include her children, Michael Pruitt, Susan (Bobby) Millican, and Stephanie (Scott) Lowe; sisters Donna (Pat) Ross and Diane (Alan) Daris); and grandchildren/great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kimberly, Samantha, Brittney, Shelly, Bella, Ty, Oliver, Liam, Bryant, Gracelynn, Shayla, Nolan, Ayden, and Devyn; Aunt, Ivalene Hendrix; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Pruitt will be held at 2:00 PM EST Tuesday, November 15 at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Koonce officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery with Bobby Millican, Scott Lowe, Tommy Storey, Wayne Wilson, Matt Rubin, and Cody Dawson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Mann and the staff of Cherokee Floyd EMS.

Mrs. Rebecca Jo Dutton Proctor, age 61 of Cedar Bluff, AL passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Proctor was born January 13, 1961 in Chicago, IL to the late Hershel and Juanita Sexton Dutton. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Crawford; siblings, James Dutton and Vida Carnes; and daughter-in-law, Angela Hicks.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Lamar Proctor; children, Phillip Crawford, Benjamin Crawford (Kristy), Jenny Crawford (Lee Pack); brothers, Ricky Dutton and Ronald Dutton; and 3 grandchildren.

Mr. Jerry Ray Corbin, Obit (M)

Mr. Jerry Ray Corbin, age 74, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday November 10, 2022, at AdventHealth Redmond.

Mr. Corbin was born October 2, 1948, in LaFayette, GA, the son of the late Lee F. and Nellie A. Hill Corbin. He was a graduate of Shorter College and was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and attended the Adult Sunday School Class. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and Stansell’s Furniture and enjoyed spending his time engaged in woodworking and helping others.

Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Betty Wooten Corbin, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Staci Corbin, daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Jack Ledford, a brother, Floyd Lee Corbin, sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Ray Wooten, and Kathleen and Tommy Silvers, sister-in-law, Maggie Corbin and four grandchildren, Brinley, Brock, Bryant and Mollie Corbin. He was predeceased by brothers, Ralph Corbin, George and Marie Corbin, Lloyd Corbin and a sister, Francis and Ed Lanier.

Funeral services will be held Sunday November 13, 2022 at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Casey Bramlett officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Jamie Mitchell, Brandon Wooten, Rodney Wooten, Terry McPhail, Billy Stewart, David Corbin, and Kevin Woods. Mr. James Randall “Randy” Ledford, Obit (C)

Mr. James Randall “Randy” Ledford, age 76 of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, November 08, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina.
Randy born in Trion, Georgia on September 26, 1946, son of the late Fred Ledford and Dorothy Brown Ledford. He was a former Master Mason, Shriner, a dedicated Georgia bulldog fan, and a professional at telling a good joke to get a laugh. Randy was president of operations for 7 Hills Transport in Cartersville, GA., until his retirement. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Randy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgia Karen “Spookie Chamlee” Ledford; son and his fiancé, Shawn Ledford and Kayla Gates; grandson Relic Ledford; He is lovingly remembered by his sister Cindy Parks of Trion, Georgia, his brother Terry Ledford of Cape Coral, Florida, and by all of his family and anyone who was blessed enough to call him a friend.

Funeral Services for Randy will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Toles, Chris Toles, Eric Toles, John Collette, Ray Henson and Buford Fox.
