According to the latest data released by the Georgia Department of Public Health, Chattooga County now has 4 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus and it’s first fatality related to the virus.

The data, released at 7pm on Monday evening, stated that Chattooga County’s first COVID-19 fatality was an 82 year old male with underlying health conditions.  The Department of Public health does not release any personal information about COVID-19 patients or fatalities.

To date, there are 7,558 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in the state of Georgia with 13% of those cases requiring hospitalization (1,393).  The virus has claimed 294 lives (3.89% of total cases) so far in the state of Georgia.
