Chattooga County Schools celebrated its newest REACH Georgia Scholars during a signing ceremony held Thursday, November 20th, in the Chattooga County Board Room. With support from Atrium Floyd Health, three eighth-grade students officially committed to the 2025–2026 REACH Scholars cohort.
This year’s scholars are Layla Stewart-Miller of Lyerly, Karli Taylor of Menlo, and James Moore IV of Summerville. The three students make up the district’s fifth REACH signing class, continuing a growing tradition of support for promising young leaders in Chattooga County.
The REACH Georgia Scholarship Program is a needs-based initiative that provides mentoring, academic coaching, and financial assistance to help students graduate from high school and pursue success in college or technical school. Each scholar is paired with a mentor who models positive behavior and provides academic and personal guidance. Academic coaches work closely with students to track progress, build educational and career plans, and connect them with resources to support achievement.
Upon graduation, qualifying REACH scholars receive a financial scholarship that can be used toward postsecondary education, reinforcing the program’s long-term commitment to student opportunity and success.
Chattooga County Schools continues its participation in the statewide REACH initiative through strong community partnerships, including generous support from Atrium Floyd Health. Representatives Will Byington III and Stephanie Reeder attended Thursday’s event to show the organization’s continued dedication to local students.
