Chattooga County Schools are joining districts across the state in observing School Board Appreciation Week, held March 9–13, 2026, a time set aside to recognize the leadership, service, and commitment of local school board members.
Trion City Schools has been recognized with the 2025–2026 GAEL Vision Award, an honor that highlights school districts across Georgia that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting and encouraging professional development for educators.
Applications are now being accepted for the Ralph “Country” Brown Memorial Scholarship, available to senior baseball and softball players at Chattooga High School.
Trion Elementary School is seeking applicants to fill two paraprofessional positions for the 2026–2027 school year.
The positions are based at Trion Elementary School and involve assisting teachers and supporting elementary students in the classroom.
According to the posting, candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED and meet one of the following qualifications:

Hold an associate’s degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) accepted accredited institution with at least 60 semester hours of college coursework, or
-
Pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Chattooga County Schools celebrated its newest REACH Georgia Scholars during a signing ceremony held Thursday, November 20th, in the Chattooga County Board Room. With support from Atrium Floyd Health, three eighth-grade students officially committed to the 2025–2026 REACH Scholars cohort.
